Its not just since the senior call up, he was withdrawing himself from every youth squad since the victory shield at the start of last season so I was somewhat surprised he turned up for the senior squad even, maybe just so Granddad could get his winnings.

Obviously good that he is now committed to Wales, but maybe now he has played for the senior team he feels he can bypass the youth sides. Coleman needs to get on the phone and give him a verbal kick up the backside.

Feel that its Liverpool dictating the situation .They have history of doing this-remember over 25 years ago Scotland complaining re. constant withdrawing of Nicol & Gillespie - and Dalglish was the manager ! Anyone here from BBC Wales to explain why no questions asked ?

The more I think about the Harry Wilson cap, the more ridiculous it seems. Essentially, a child made a sub appearance in a competitive match for his country and now he's disappearing from the international scene at any level.

Some good points being made. I think Twitter is a good route. but rather than targeting the generic ebc sport / ebc sport Wales account, it would probably better to search for specific journalists who write / report for them and ask them to look into it. If they see that there is demand for this kind of knowledge, they're far more likely to look into it / report it.

Anyone on twitter so they can ask him? twitter.com/harrywilson_But agree with TP, the Welsh media need to be asking these questions.

Can you imagine what being capped at the age of 16 could do to a young footballer? It wouldn't change the way many players see themselves, Bale and Ramsey had little first team experience before their debuts and are examples of that, but I'm sure it could easily go the other way, especially for a player that's only known youth football. Maybe its had a negative affect on him.
These days you read about youth players being on 20k a week. If that continues to happen on a wider scale kids won't grow up wanting to play for their national team.

I'm more disppointed about Wilson not turning up for these competetive games than I am Bale and Ramsey missing the Holland friendly..

I wonder if Ian Rush might give the Liverpool line on Harry Wilson pulling out of Wales squads? Also wonder what the other u19s players on twitter make of it.

Rushie would be the one to give the hard sell on importance of playing for Wales.Welsh media in particular the BBC are ignoring the matter. They are funded by the licence fee so should reflect the public interest.Public interest in sport in wales can be shown by large difference in gates Swansea/Cardiff get in comparison to the rugby regions. Harry Wilson COULD be the next Giggs/ Bale for Wales but the current no-show state of affairs is ridiculous.

I would play him against Andorra.
With Vokes still out and others pretty average might as well chuck him in.
The likelyhood of him scoring on his first start against them would be pretty high and can only boost his confidence for the future.

I would certainly hope that George Williams gets capped even if as a substitute. Would be there on merit and nip in the bud quickly talk that will emerge about England coming in for him.

I agree with toshfan on this George Williams above Wilson for me. Still, we need to see who is the form player in the early part of the season. The same goes for the rest of the positions.

Harry Wilson made his debut for Liverpool under 21's against Utd tonight.
Highly rated by some
"Harry really stood out for me tonight. This lad has bags of potential and maybe this season or next I think we will start to see him breaking through to the first team"
"Anyone who describes Wilson as just pace and not much else is either too dumb to know the difference or is speaking out of ignorance.
Wilson is one of the purest talented kids I have seen going through the youth set up in several years. I would put him easily in the categories of Raheem, Ibe, Suso...and am not sure I would fight anyone who suggests Wilson is even more refined and more talented than that lot. He is a unique blend of all those players....Raheem and Ibe were always about pace...Suso about guile and technical ability and end-product. Wilson is all of those things rolled into one."
"Harry is very intelligent with his movement and his use of the ball, he has pace but he is able to use it in the right areas and at the right times, which is rare for one so young. He has good touch and vision to, which enables him to create for himself and for others, he did this a lot in the U18s last season and that's why he earned a call up to international level at just 16.
It is ridiculous to suggest he is just pace and not much after that as he is about as far away from that as you could find, he had consistency with the things mentioned to last season in the U18s and that is a good sign, as he get's used to each step up he appears to be able to consistently bring performances to go with his talent.
It could go either way, as with every young player, but under Brendan and if he develops properly he could be someone who is in our first team in years to come, early yet, but the signs and talent are there for sure, there are good young players and then their are Harry Wilson's"

The FAW haven't announced any changes to the U19 squad for their qualifying tournament this week. The first game is on Wednesday 12th. Looks like we might see Wilson playing for Wales for the first time since he made his first team debut

Fingers crossed, will be interesting to see how the U19s go.
The U17s just made it through, I am hopeful the U19s will make the top 2 in their group

How did he play? Any watch the whole match? It's all gone a bit too quiet on the Wilson front for me.

I'm sure things aren't that quiet, he is playing where the majority of kids his age are but as these games are rarely televised / reported on it can seem quiet. The best we could expect is for him to be gradually involved next season as an 18 year old.

If Jordan Williams and Danny Ward are getting some bench appearances, it wouldn't hurt to give little Harry a chance to sit with the big boys too. Would lift him up massively, especially if he had a few minutes on towards the end of a match.

We are biased because he's Welsh remember! Unfortunately it seems Jerome Sinclair came out of the game with good reports and he is also a striker so not sure who is next for a place on the bench. Of course it could just be the media building up the English boy over the Welsh boy.

Yes of course I am biased but I thought he was the star of the academy, top goalscorer etc and plus he is a full Wales international and the youngest ever at that.
