Ashley Williams will definitely go. Just seeing Mepham tonight does not inspire at all.

Chiellini Italy captain is 35, ok diff level but I'd like to know Giggs thinking in dropping Ash, has he really lost that much pace? I've not witnessed it myself, thought he looked sharp out in Dublin last year.

A more reasonable comparison would be Chris Smalling, who's had something of a career revival since joining Roma and should be banging on England's door on the basis of experience.

My point was even at 35 you can still play at the best of your ability (as a CB) not comparing Ash to Chiellini's quality. Giggs should know this more than anyone, having played until he was 40 odd?

Ash looks great - and is also looking good going forward. No idea why Giggs isn't playing him!

Reports saying MoM tonight, again! In the dying minutes, clearing a ball off the line from ... Christopher Gunter ;-)
Can Giggs seriously afford not to take him to the Euros?

Don't fancy our chances with a young+ inexperienced defence against the top teams, doubt Ash will play

Hope he stays at Bristol playing regularly til the end of the season, it’s not the time for a potentially disruptive move abroad.
His presence in the tournament squad will be invaluable, whether he starts or not. Stay fit and playing big man.

Him against Fox on Sky. Wednesday currently 2 up.
Ashley's dyed his hair blonde, not doing his game any favours though...

Ash sent off tonight. Could be the end of his season for what it’s worth.

OK, I'm starting to think Ash has played his last game for Wales. I think his decline was massively exaggerated over the last couple of years, he more often than not played well for us during that 'decline'. But he seems to have been in shocking form since the start of the new year!

Quality player, and I agree with iot . Ash hasn't really put a foot wrong for Wales. Unfortunately time is not on his side, he'll need to show a prolonged period of good form next season if he's to be considered by Giggs again. Hopefully Rodon, Chester and Mepham don't get injured too often.

I’d take him to the Euros next year. If it’s Mepham, Rodon and Cabango that people are predicting something there stands out. Have Ash on the bench and if we’re under pressure last 10 mins bring him on. The lads a warrior and surely good for 10 mins, his experience will be valuable on and off the pitch.

It all depends on how everyone performs next season obviously, but at the moment I would have chester and lockyer ahead of him too. I'm not sure if he's got problems in his personal life or whether it's to do with football-related frustrations, but he's had two absolutely ridiculous sending offs this season after lashing out at players - something you wouldn't expect from a player of his age and experience.

Ash badly needs a steak. Veganism has turned his brain to mush.

Anyone who pisses Bristol City fans off is alright by me and so he has gone up in my estimation after his antics tonight. He’s getting totally slagged off by them- haven’t seen the incident but from the sounds of it he has inexplicably lashed out. Sounds like he’ll be lucky to have a club next season never mind be in contention for a Euros place.

I would be surprised if he makes the plane.

With Ash's time in a Cymru shirt seemingly coming to/come to an end who do we think should be named the next permanent captain?

Ben Davies, with Ethan Ampadu as vice.

Ben Davies, with Ethan Ampadu as vice. Think that's my feeling too. Ben at 27 still has a lot of years and caps to win for us and I see Ampadu as captain one day

Ben Davies, with Ethan Ampadu as vice. Yeah I second Ben Davies. So consistant that it won’t effect his performance.

Davies or Allen, when the latter is fit.

It will be Bale, but I'd like to see Davies named as vice when Ash is confirmed to be internationally retired. When Bale finishes I'd like to see Ampadu named as vice
It's interesting that Warren Garland gave Sam Warburton the armband from such a young age in the rugby. I think that Ampadu would be a good candidate to do a similar type of thing with, but Davies just makes more sense to me - I like having a reliable, consistent captain

Give it to Ben and alternate between him and Joe. Maybe Bale doesn't need the added pressure.

Ben's time for the captain's armband has arrived (hopefully). Cool, calm, collected and dependable.
