What a remarkable international career Chris Gunter has had!
He only made his debut v. New Zealand in 2007 but already has 72 caps!
I think we can count on one hand the number of games he has missed since then hence the fact that if he plays for what another three years for Wales he will be the first player in Welsh history to pass 100 caps!!
Just a shame his brief stint at Tottenham Hotspur didn't work out - but what an ambassador for the country, if any player deserved to play at Euro 2016 in France it was this guy.

Seems a nice guy too. Good player to have in the camp.
I like his funny home movies for the FAW. He should be able to cut together a decent feature doc if we make it to the world cup.

I've got a lot of time for Gunts. He has been constantly playing impressively for Wales now for quite a while. How often do you come away from a Wales game saying he didn't play well? He comes across as being one of the stars in a really sociable group of players as well as his obvious close friendship with Rambo and Ledley. And he's one of those rare things nowadays, a footballer that always plays with a smile on his face. As much as I would have loved Cardiff City to bring him back home, I would be really happy for him to be playing at a higher level.

Seems like every Welsh player is being linked with Celtic right now In terms of the standard of football they'd probably be better off in the championship.

I read that Hull are considering him as their regular right back is injured. Hopefully Gunter can usurp him permanently.

Gunter's in his prime. He's a great player that's been overlooked by prem clubs for years even though he's prem quality. I think the most important thing is that he's fit and happy so IMO why not go to a league and play for a top team in that league and perhaps even Europe? Celtic would be a fine option

Very consistent but can be very frustrating at times. He is rather tentative to get to the byline when there is clear space in front of him, instead turning around and playing it back to one of the centre backs from past the halfway line. But bluephill is right it's not very often he has a bad game. Didn't Fergie call Irwin his 'mr 7 out of 10'? He is our version and that is a phenomenal cap figure for one so young. Well done Chris go to Hull and get back in the Premier league.

Hope to hell he doesn't go to Celtic, same goes to every other Welsh players linked with them.
Hull would be a great fit, and fantastic to see him in the Premier League.

Everytime I watch Wales I find myself once a game shouting "Shoot!" at Gunter then he squares the ball and someone clears it. Once in his career for Wales he's going to be in this position and everyone predictably thinks he's going to square it but he shoots and scores an 89th minute winner for a huge 1-0 win.

I wish he had been given the penalty to take last night, but I guess it was no time for sentiment.

Apparently Forest's keeper is Serbia's keeper! A good omen. He spent 2014-2016 at Maccabi Haifa ... I wonder if he enjoyed our game in Haifa as much as we did ;-)

If the man is not already legend enough, Dean Saunders has revealed this evening, at the FA Wales Awards 2016 ceremony, that Gunts has been injecting himself for six weeks with blood thinning injections to make sure he can play despite blood clots! He goes on to explain "He just carried on playing. Imagine going home and injecting your own thigh. I know diabetics are used to it but for a footballer, we’re like cry-babies aren’t we". When first diagnosed I had to inject in the stomach for the first six weeks and take the Warfarin. The one thing the doctors said to me was that usually once you have one there is more chance you will get more and sure enough they were correct, now on blood thinning tablets for life. The one thing that strikes me is that as a footballer he has a lot more chance of cuts etc (contact sport) and therein lies the problem with Warfarin, it thins the blood so much once you start bleeding it's bloody hard to stop it, plus nose bleeds etc can just occur.

Gunter will equal the number of caps that Craig Bellamy (78) to move int third place in the all time list.
Could be a good time to get his first goal
