Apparently (and from what I've seen and heard), he gives as good as he gets. So he might come in handy 😉 He might be too quick for them to catch up with, anyway 😂

I’ll be so much more comfortable seeing all this praise for Ampadu when he plays a competitive international for us. Brooks and Mepham too.

Fair play you’ve gone into a lot of depth there and even given some great examples, but I’ll be honest I still have no clue how it works 😂

Thanks for reading, I’ll admit the permutations are not easy to wrap your head around. It could be made simpler but it’s geared towards lower ranked teams having an extra chance of qualification rather than the best teams. The best teams are still expected to qualify through the regular Euro 2020 campaign. We will see if it’s a success once we get going.

Can't see him getting much gametime this season. Rudiger, Luiz & Christensen in front of him, I can see him firmly being a part of Chelsea's "buy-to-sell" youth policy.

They are bound to get injuries, he will play in the Europa League and all the domestic cup ties. I imagine he'll get 15 games at least for Chelsea this year.

Wishful thinking, but they've tossed aside far better talents in Mo Salah, Lukaku & Kevin De Bruyne before now, so I won't hold my breath. He's far more likely to turn out for NAC Breda in an actual senior game.

Those players peaked later didn't they? Ampadu shows a lot of class for the age he is.

I think they see him as part of their long term plans. Not ideal for us as he'll probably be in between the u23s and seniors all season, same as Woodburn last season. Difficult to see him starting for us under those circumstances

I'm hoping he'll get loaned out. He'd be perfect for Swansea, especially considering how short the Swans are at CB and DM.

You're right, he would be a perfect signing for Swansea which would be great for Wales all-round. However, from what I've read, Chelsea intend to keep hold of him and use him in cup competitions

To be honest its a shame the idiotic chairmen voted to shut the top level transfer window early, as he should be playing in the premier league. Would have been a great loan signing for a Bournemouth or alike.

Giggs will play ampudu. He debuted for MU at 16 himself so won’t hold him back if he’s better than the alternatives-just depends on what system he wants to play.

I think he should - and will - feature. Maybe he won't start, but we need to get this boy and Brooks, capped! Best way would be to sort of transition them gradually into the team around some of the "regulars" in the team.

Giggs debuted for Wales at age 17 but possibly had more first team game time than Ampadu has? I can't see it happening but it would be a bold move from Giggs, in my opinion, to play Ethan from the start.

I dont think its all that bold, i think hes ready to be honest, he is very calm for his age, i think he would take it all in his stride. If you are good enough, you are old enough. And he is certainly good enough.

Goodness sake Ampadu is not too young at all!
Bale was 17! Ramsey, Gunter 18 etc.
Youth football is pointless past U16 imo, once you can be a pro you are old enough to play senior games provided you are good enough!
If Giggs does it carefully, we could have another very good crop of 20 odd capped players in a few years time (ready for the WC qualifiers) with the likes of Bale, Allen, Ramsey still about alongside them not too far into their 30s at all.

I'd play him against Ireland, I'd also play Brooks if he plays for Bournemouth in the league again before the international break, we can't ignore Premier League players based on age/experience etc
