I thought i read somewhere that he was not yet allowed to play in the league until next year unless I misread it. A footballing centre back this could be fantastic for us in the long run (I know I know he's only 15).

Thought he was more a holding midfielder? Without wishing to be sizeist I think he's too short and slight to play centre back. Obviously he has a bit of growing still do as a 15 year old!!

I'm not going to be happy for him until I know for sure that he finished his homework before he played

Did very well & highly rated according to the Exeter fans forum. "This is my 50th season watching City and I've been lucky to watch some fantastic young players make their debuts in that time. Nicky Marker and Buster Phillips were both 16 I think and they were both brilliant, but tonight Ethan was a class above the pair of them. Absolutely stunning and fully deserved to be Man of the Match. He made at least 5 fantastic tackles in and around the box, 2 of them when he was the last man, but time after time he cut the ball out and nonchalantly played it to a team mate with ease. I'm sure he won't keep his place on Saturday though and Woodman will be back!" www.exeweb.com/forums/showthread.php?55027-Ethan-Ampadu/page36Good god, Ampadu surely can't be better than Buster "Exeter-Plymouth-Torquay" Phillips??

I'm not going to be happy for him until I know for sure that he finished his homework before he played There was a 15yo playing for derby a few seasons ago who wasn't allowed to play Middlesbrough away because his parents anted him to go to his double science class the next day. Crazy

Could potentially grow significantly over the next four years. The manager's interview about him was pretty revealing - he made him sound like he was already essentially their best player!

Crazy Mason Bennett, a striker. He is still with us but hasnt really progressed as well as we all hoped

Was being linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and United last season so clearly has talent. There's no rush when you're that age to move. So many youngsters move young and drift into obscurity. I've worked out if he plays in any of this coming season's fixtures up until Serbia (a) in June he'll beat Wilson's youngest cap record

All seems well at the moment. At which point does he become English and "not very good"?

Apparently he's grown an inch and a half since his height stats were last updated. Onwards and upwards!

Glowing reports from the Exeter manager regarding Ethan's first game in midfield for Exeter. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37897576Well worth watching for his shot which hit the post, the rebound of which was Exeter's goal.

I disagree and think Chelsea would be an excellent move. Conté's given 2 youth players debuts already and Chelsea have good links to loan players away while they develop. Their record for bringing players through is amongst the best despite a lot not staying there. They've also won the last 3 FA Youth Cups.

Just signed for Chelsea, let's hope he makes better progress than the dozens of other Chelsea youngsters who haven't made it!

But they don't know what his GCSE results are.
When does he go out on loan?
Seriously, he is going to need some luck to make it there.
