3 weeks ahead! it would seem they will be posted out before christmas, that will create some anxiety j Think Jamie is referring to this paragraph that was in the email confirmation: "Thank you for purchasing FAI Tickets. Please note:Tickets purchased after Friday 16th December may not be received in time for Christmas. Please check to ensure that your address and contact details are correct by logging onto www.fai.ie/myaccount. Thank you for your continued support. " To me, this looks like a standard format TicketMaster thing... Wales home game tickets have never been shipped more than a month before the match. Usually more like 2 to 3 weeks ahead. If one of the Southern lads can correct me, I know that all their away tickets tended to arrive about ten days before their actual away games - what about the home game tickets? I'm hoping that it will be the same as our home game tickets Phil, sent out about 2 weeks before the game

I purchased a ticket for a friend for the home game and received it 4 or 5 days later and this was roughly a month before the game. Tickets for away games are always slow enough been delivered but ones for home games are normally delivered in the weeks after ordering them as they coming direct from ticketmaster and not the fai like the away tickets. This duo ticket has specifically been marketed as an ideal Christmas present so would expect any bought yesterday to be delivered before 25th December

oscardelta has confirmed the same, so it looks like this is a special Christmas promotion. OD also added it might take the FAI 2 or 3 weeks to go over the orders with a fine tooth comb, as they did for the euros

For anyone making a weekend of it and travelling home on Sunday 26th March, Flybe have just released their flight from Belfast City Airport to Cardiff - £46.99 one way at 2pm. The train from Dublin to Belfast is €20 one way.

A member of the Irish YBIG with some knowledge just PM me saying: "We are getting 3500 and you are getting 4500. Apparently contracts have only to be signed."
If true, that is one seriously poor deal ;-(

If true, that is one seriously poor deal ;-( Confirmed by the FAI www.fai.ie/ireland/news/fai-agrees-ticket-allocation-for-2017-qualifier-in-walesWe seem to be getting a little bit more than 10% whereas you boys seem to be getting a little less than 10%. I wonder why the FAW have agreed to that?

Thanks for the link. I see that our Irish friends are not very keen travelers, judging by the Serbia and Moldova games. They will probably give us back half that allocation ;-)
Serbia: 1,500 tickets allocated / 642 tickets sold Moldova: 1,316 tickets allocated / 986 tickets sold Austria: 3,066 tickets allocated / 3,066 tickets sold

Was more than 3066 in Austria as well probably another few hundred in the home end

Blimey those prices look a bit steep! Will our allocation be similar prices? Think ours are 55 euro (50+5 fee) Very low down, behind the goal and NOT under cover! The Aviva was designed especially to frustrate the away fans ;-(

DUO PACKAGE UPDATE
Irish YBIG forum reports that a fair few in Eire and Belfast got their duo tickets yesterday and today.
Personally, I had a firm email from the FAI last Friday telling me to take a hike... So looking like my wee brother is going to use viagogo again...

Few tips to Welsh fans travelling over - avoid Temple Bar like the plague. It is an absolute rip off. The pints go up by the hour - the 'entertainment' is tacky Irish trad music that no genuine fan of Irish traditional music would listen to. The Harcourt St - Wexford St area is a good part of the city to head out in. You also have the Baggot St area which has a lot of good boozers and decent late bars.
Just a heads up to anyone getting a taxi and going through the port tunnel - this will be a lot quicker if your stuck for time getting tot he game but it will incur an extra charge. I think it's €12 at peak times - maybe about €6 off peak.

Looks highly unlikely Wales fans will be able to access home end tickets for the Dublin game and unlikely Irish fans will be able to access home end tickets for the Cardiff game. Would any Welsh fans be interested in taking Dublin home end tickets for face value in exchange for Cardiff home end tickets for face value?

Would any Welsh fans be interested in taking Dublin home end tickets for face value in exchange for Cardiff home end tickets for face value? FAW members are usually entitled to buy 3 extra tickets per home game, first come first served. There has in the past been criticism for the amount of tickets that can be purchased by members, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was reduced for the Ireland game. But who knows. So even if someone does take you up on your offer, just be aware that the risk is all yours and you might not be guaranteed a ticket in return.

The port tunnel is 10 euro at peak times and 3 euro off peak. Dublin Friday evening traffic is really bad. Don't risk arriving into Dublin airport on the friday afternoon. The tunnel will definitely help but there but with the risk of flight delays and traffic delays it isn't worth it. The stadium is 15 minutes walk from the centre. Plenty of nice spots to drink around the stadium on matchday as well. There was a presale today for electricity and gas customers of SSE Airtricity. They sponsor our domestic league. There may not be any public sale of tickets. In the last campaign tickets were sold more or less openly to Scottish and Polish fans but demand is much higher this time for the home end.

I like the Beggars Bush on Haddington Road which is convenient for the away end. beggarsbush.com/If too busy as you walk from there to the away end there are bars on either side on the corners whose names escape me. Any of those are fine really. These days I tend to drive so haven't been in the beggars for a couple of years. I'll be driving in March and bringing my kids so won't be drinking then either.

Similar to Dundalkfc above, have a spare Ireland V Wales ticket available as one of the lads is away on matchday, happy to let it go if there's scope for a ticket for the reverse fixture.
Cheers, Stephen
