Tweeted on Friday after captaining Wales U19s that he was proud of the team and proud to be Welsh. Given the current bad climate regarding our top stars attitude towards playing for Wales, it is only right to highlight the other side of the spectrum.
In reality Gethin Jones,Jordan Evans,Crowe and few others possibly should be in U21s already.They have been held back with this tournament in mind.Pity Wales have been held back by a significant absentee and Williams going up to seniors due to other significant absentees.

Hi
Gethin Jones on the bench for Everton and their GK Russell Griffiths also on the bench. He´s an England U21 and i saw on twitter that he went to Christleton High School which is in Chester i believe? I wonder if Griffiths has Welsh blood? Griffiths is my surname as well

They also have a midfielder on the bench called Joe Williams. The Everton website lists him as being born in Liverpool doesn't mention if he's played international football at youth level for anyone

Toshack/Flynn openly admitted that the national side was the shop window for Welsh kids to push for starts/moves with their clubs, be they loan or permanent as they were so desperate to expand our playing pool as quickly as possible. From what I understand the message has always been "get yourselves playing, there's no learning curve better than playing regularly whatever the level". My guess is that message still gets hammered home to our youth, good on them for taking the plunge in the lower leagues on loan, will do them good. |

I saw Gethin play for Plymouth a couple of times at the end of last season and he looked class. I just hopes he carries on developing and doesn't go backwards as a lot of youngsters seem to do as when they get a bit older. If he does carry on developing I think we will have very good midfielder.

Just heard he was amazing for Everton against Liverpool u21 game in the 2nd half. I believe he might be in contention for a squad place in our 1st team soon. Look out Gunter and Jazz

Wouldn't hold it against him if true, he was born there and might feel more Aussie than Welsh. The only worrying thing is he's the captain, not a fringe player like Rhys Williams, so it makes me wonder whether our u21's are as indoctrinating as we first hoped.

I may be wrong, but I believe his contract is up at the end of the season. If he can engineer some league football at a decent level and do well, he could give himself some good opportunities come summer. Needs much more senior games now. |

Everton have played quite a few youngsters and he hasn't had a look in, expect him to be released in the summer
