just watched the highlights of last nights game... he missed an absolute sitter not surprising, he's only scored 2 goals in 31 games this season

Feels like we’re world class at producing non-scoring players…

Yeah, watching it now. He’d certainly be my choice for a call up.

It’s a good game. Hedges just hits the post unlucky not to score, great effort. He’s a serious athlete fair play and does a lot of dog work, defending, tracking back!
Ally mccoist impressed by him!

On the basis of today and what he showed in a problem position for us I'd like to see him come in.

RWB, but could easily play LWB, he’s a lefty, can run all day, pace and does a lot of defending

Watched it, absolutely brilliant game, Blackburn need a better defence but play great football, had 84% possession at one point but were losing 2-0, Hedges had a tap in.

Stunning winner at Watford today apparently. Was going to post the same thing (haven't seen the goal though). Still don't understand why we're ignoring decent championship regulars over 'promising' but average youngsters.

Still don't understand why we're ignoring decent championship regulars over 'promising' but average youngsters. It was indeed a lovely goal. Arguably a goal of the season candidate given the lovely bit of skill in flicking it over the defender's leg, control of next touch with ball being juggled, neatness of the finish and it being a match-winner against a side still using parachute payments. But goal of the season tends to go to one touch rockets from outside the box... Ryan Hedges has played almost all his games for Blackburn as right wing back or right-sided attacking midfielder. There are a few positions we have relative depth in (say 3+ options rather than 1-2 or even making most of 0-1) and his position is one of those. I don't think we are ignoring any Championship regulars. You could probably make the argument for League 1/2 regulars but that's a bit different.

The only proper WB's we have are Neco and Roberts, and Roberts is the only decent right footed WB or RB we have (assuming that Neco plays at the left side all the time). Other options are B Davies (left footed), Sorba (not very good), Norrington-Davies (still injured and no sign of returning, also left footed). We could really do with more right footed WB's/ RB's tbh.

Wes Burns is also a RW/RWB, which is why I think it's weird that Page used him as a LWB when he's never played there - he's much better on the right Luca Hooke has been playing regularly at Bristol Rovers, and despite Regan Poole playing at CB for Portsmouth he can do a job at RB too

Hedges misfortune is that right wing is the most natural position for most of our most naturally talented footballers at the moment - Wilson. Johnson, Brooks and Matondo - so the chances of him breaking in to the starting line up or even making it off the bench are quite slim. If he was a central midfielder of course he'd be a shoo in.

Ryan is left footed. I know predominantly played on the right, I wouldn't see an issue of him being deployed on the left hand side as a wing back where he has played previously. Or even as an attacker to provide balance on that side when Neco plays full back.
Just think he's one of those where there's just been better or more promising players in that area. Would never be against calling him though mind

That is one stunning goal. I bet if Ibraheem Sterling scored it, we would never have heard the end of it...
