hmmm, he's scored 1 in 4 in the scottish prem so far, and managed 4 in 22 (along with 5 assists) last season. If he were a youngster, it would be different, but he's 25 so I don't think he's close. Makes much more sense for me to focus on players with higher potential like Matondo who, let's not forget, started a dozen or so games in the bundesliga at the age of 19 last season and scored a couple of goals.

Looked really good today. Set it up to McLennan on a plate at the end, who was fouled for a penalty to make it 3-3. Always looked a threat and like someone who could make something happen.

I only saw his first half v Rangers, but he always looked good, dangerous and forward thinking.
Has great pace and created at least three wonderful openings for Cosgrove.
If Marley wasn't injured, the result would have been VERY different.

Can't see him ever really getting an opportunity on the wings/attacking midfield for us since we have so many attacking options, but I wonder if he's one that we could try at wingback? I think he's left-footed too, so could be an ideal LWB. Considering our lack of depth in that position, it'd be worth a go in a friendly at least.

Came off the bench today after being out for 3 months win an injury, and scored what turned out to be the winner within 5 mins of coming on, securing European football for Aberdeen next season in the process.

Erm - what has he actually done this season that warrants a place on the plane? with that basis Doidge should also be on the plane but he wont and neither will Hedges

Two goals for Ryan have helped Aberdeen through to the Europa League Conference play-off round. The second was a superb finish. He's only got one year left on his deal and rumours are that Aberdeen have knocked back a £500k bid from a Championship club, with Boro & Blackburn linked. I was wondering why we haven't heard much about Hedges for a while, seems he's injured, and saw this interesting tweet:
Are we shooting ourselves in the foot by overlooking players like him and Doidge etc in the SPL? Especially Hedges who seems to be a star player in a team. Scotland are doing more than alright with around a fifth of their squad playing in the SPL.

Believe he was injured for quite a while.

Forgive me for not having all of Aberdeen's games saved on record. Also, you usually hear those sort of lines from dinosaurs in sport like the scouts in Moneyball who thought the data-led approach to player recruitment was far inferior to their ability in spotting targets, only to be proven entirely wrong. |
