Rabbi back in the matchday squad after at least four weeks not even featuring... Hasn't kicked a ball for Schalka since mid-February. That said, during that entire period, they lost eight out of nine matches...
EDIT Unused sub and Schalke lost again ';(

Its been a couple of months since he has featured for the first team, but he seems to be doing well for the U19 ...

Schalke went to Dortmund knowing that a loss could possibly relegate them, while a win for Dortmund could secure another title.
A huge game, with a lot riding on it - and Rabbi was in the squad.
Schelke led 1-2 and then all hell broke loose ... Two Dortmund players got sent off and Schelke went 1-3 up and finally 2-4.
Rabbi came on for the last eight minutes. Played well (albeit against nine men). Ran at them with pace twice and was close to scoring from a cross that he didn't really connect with.
Dortmund probably will need to content themselves with 2nd place and Schalke are all but safe in 15th - just one above the relegation zone.
A season to forget for them...

Interesting to see that David Wagner is set to be appointed as Schalke's new manager.
He's probably most known on this board for his work at Huddersfield where he led them to promotion to the Premier League and kept them there before leaving in January.
He's big mates with Klopp and uses a similar 'Gegenpressing' philosophy where teams press high up the pitch.
Feel like Matondo could fit well into that system but it may be wishful thinking on my part.

Just hope he likes to play new talent and give youth a chance, unlike his mate

After his 5' cameo last week, Rabbi got 30' this week. Ended 0-0, but he had three really decent chances - one of them he really should have scored from 2m out, another he just took too long and got blocked. Looks good when running at defenders (this time played right wing). Great progress for the 18 year-old, but still behind Tyler and James as a winger for me - and really not good enough as a striker.
With the extra point, Schalke have only just secured their Bundesliga status...

How good do you think he'll be? Early to really tell, I know.

Really hard to tell... He is on the bench today, but I expect him to come on in the 2nd half (3.30pm ish)
EDIT
Only played the last 15' and had nowhere near as much impact as last week. Difficult to tell what his position was, as the other 10 Schalke players seemed to be behind the ball ... but he appeared to be the furthest forward? Would be great if the new manager sees him as a CF, as we are genuinely blessed with wingers ;-)

Rabbi Matondo escorted off a flight from Faro to Bristol by Police. Article says he initially refused to fasten his seatbelt before take off in Portugal after being requested to, and called a stewardess a 'slut' twice during the flight. Seems he's lost his head since leaving Man City for Schalke. Silly boy!!!

This would be pretty grim at any hour of the day or night but while he’s on that flight he’s under the auspices of the FAW right? Disgraceful if so and he should be binned off for a while. Who does he think he is? Some jumped up little Herbert who thinks a pair of football boots makes him God’s gift. Strewth

Yes, Bellamy remarked on this previously hence why he was allowed to leave

Think our William needs to take young Rabbi under his wing and get him to do some charity work etc.

If by “guidance” you are suggesting Bale takes him aside and says “Don’t be a c**t” then yes, I totally agree
