While in general agreeing he needs a quiet word,I'm reminded of an answer Grace Slick gave in an interview when championing an upandcoming band Guns and Roses, the interviewer said yes a good band but don't you think the singer is a bit of an arsehole,to which she replied " He's 21 he's meant to be an arsehole" so let's calm down and chill.

Wtf? Are you saying all our young players should behave like arseholes?

I agree. Those days of praising entitlement and excusing bad behaviour are gone.

What a ridiculous thing to say. Try saying that to the air stewardess who was verbally abused by the immature idiot whilst just trying to do her job. He also inconvenienced fellow travellers by delaying their exit from the plane.

Personally, I think he should be dropped without hesitation. We've had fantastic role models in the squad over the last few years...Bale, Ramsey, Allen, Gunter, Davies etc, so could do without this sort of negative attention. Yes we've had issues in the past such as the Hennessey/Taylor/J Williams haka and the recent german stuff with Hennessey but this deserves a harsher punishment, especially with his verbal attack and police involvement.

Excusing his behaviour because “youth” is exactly the sort of culture and environment that leads to him being a tosser in the first place and will most likely mean he continues to be one into adulthood. You are never too old to at least have basic respect to those around you.

If he was innocent of any mis-demeanour why did the Police have to escort him off the plane in the first place? It would have been a non-story, but unfortunately it wasn't in this case.

Because they don't fuck about on air travel. According to the BBC page it wasn't just him , several people were spoken to regarding poor behaviour.

Last I checked calling someone a slut isn’t an offence that the police would take seriously....doesn’t mean that it is acceptable behaviour from someone representing his country. He needs a clip round the ear and dropping from the squad. I don’t know how much Schalke are aware of this but docking his wages would also be a good move to try and bring about some maturity, even if enforced.

Yes, calling someone a disgusting name isnt an offense but he still needs dropping from the squad as that will teach him a lesson, he needs to learn how to behave.

I wouldn't necessarily support dropping him from the squad after an (alleged) first "offence". But I'd be seriously concerned with this sort of behaviour. Either way, he needs a good talking to, and a warning (no matter how frivolous the altercation). Look at some of the role models in the squad - Bale, Allen and Vaulks (who is an ambassador for a Children's hospital). I'm not saying kick him out, but nip this in the bud. Maybe adopt a "three strikes" rule!

Totally in agreement. Innocent until proven guilty. Once again, its the small minded Welsh culture of self-flagellation. What on earth was wrong with Jonny Williams' celebrations at the Euros? Why do people on here still bring up the supposed Nazi salute after there was no case to answer? etc?
Sadly, some on here still prefer to believe the English gutter press ahead of listening (and believing) one of our own ;-(

There is plenty of offenses which he could have been arrested for if the allegations are correct (especially as he's on a plane) I'm inclined to go with the police's view that 'no criminal offence were committed' unless you have any evidence to the contrary ?

The article states he refused to wear his belt and called the stewardesses “sluts” - do they sound like arrestable offences to you? But apparently because everything these days is filmed on a mobile phone it never happened  . Or, even better, it’s all a fabrication by the stewardesses who wanted to get some random footballer nobody has ever heard of into trouble  Weighing up the probabilities here I fail to see how there could be any agenda to get him into trouble and it seems to me *most* likely that a cigar is actually just a cigar and he played up and called people names. Nothing serious enough to be arrested for but still not the sort of thing anyone here would be proud of their own son doing (although I can’t say I’m even sure about that judging by some of the rug sweeping that seems to be going on). Drop him from the squad and get someone to remind him of his conduct and how to generally carry himself in a respectful manner. Case closed.

Didn't the article first crop up in the daily mail?
Completely baffled and a little sickened at Welsh fans believing what they have to say word for word and casting stones at Rabbi before anything's even been proven. It's as if the majority of you want to believe it.
I'm sure Giggs and the FAW will look at this matter with far more common sense and decency. I'm actually ashamed at some of you.
If the allegations are proven to be true then fair enough, bash away, but let's hold off until then eh?

There be more reaction if it was an England player there be no innocent before guilty he befall over every tabloid and majority on hard would be looking for ban for him. I assume Giggs and co would have been involved now and got to the truth and disciplined him correctly

I don’t know why being Welsh even comes into it, because it’s “one of our own” we should look the other way and forget all about it? I get that it’s unproven but it seems a lot of hassle to go to fabricate something so benign. If they really wanted to do a hatchet job surely they would have painted him out to be a bigger wanker than just refusing to wear his belt and calling the stewardesses a derogatory term? The Police were also called so *something* happened on that plane. Ah well, I’m sure if it is a fabrication Matondo can afford to get his lawyers involved and we will soon be hearing an apology from the daily mail, won’t we....won’t we?

Piss poor conduct is piss poor conduct and nationality should not alter people’s reaction and opinion.

I bet we wouldn't see this sort of reaction if Bale was accused. I’d be deeply disappointed if it was Bale and certainly would not be rug sweeping it. Thankfully one thing Bale has got mostly right is his public image. Actually it’s not even an image going by baresi’s tale of how he met Bale when Bale dropped into Cardiff kids hospital on Christmas Eve completely under the radar, seeking no publicity for it. Young Rabbi could learn a thing or two about Bale’s humility.
