I'll be interested to see how Tom Bradshaw does this coming season. He didn't play much last season due to the form of James Collins (not that one!) but has been handed the number 9 shirt for this one in league one with the departure of Collins to Swindon.

Saw JW against Lewes last week played well for all of twenty minutes or so but has not played in any pre-season games afterwards
But this is Freedman's view on his fitness
"Freedman said there was nothing to worry about, insisting the 18-year-old wasn't scheduled to complete at least 45 minutes on his comeback from a broken leg.
"We've got to be careful with Jon Williams," he said. "He's worked over the whole of the summer, so he could have done 90 minutes.
"He's trained very hard this week and I've looked at his heart monitor and his fitness levels - we actually need to bring him back.
"He's the sort of player who can run all night, but we were told by the sports science department that we needed to play him for just 30 minutes, maximum.
"You've got to listen to them because they're the experts. But his fitness levels are very, very good."
Thought Nathan Craig would have made the squad

A bit disappointed with the squad due to the following omissions -
Gwion Edwards (Swansea) - on first team tour, reserves player of year Emyr Huws (Man City) - see other thread - impressing there Ben Davies (Swansea) - on first team tour Tom Lawrence (Man Utd) - now a pro
Given a couple on standby are unattached makes it more puzzling

Its a good sign for the future of Welsh football when we have so much talent avaliable ain't it & we leave talented players out of the squad

Wil Roberts (Coventry) also unlucky - in first team end of season, scored pre-season. Meades has never played first team football. Squad seems apart from Richards to be a Flynn squad- not much research done on players in form and whos out there

Well t be fair t G Williams he has not been in his role for long so he has gone with virtually the same squad as Flynn had t avoid disruption

There are a few different selections if you look closely. Elliot Richards is a well deserved call up. Not heard of the Mekki kid and nice to see Nat Jarvis on standby. Would have thought Cornell be ahead of Ward on experience. He has also selected Ashton Taylor in first squad, he was often on stand by or not picked under Flynn. There at not going to be wholesale changes as these players have competed well in this campaign. Shame Hewitt is not fit. Otherwise looks a decent squad.

Hopefully Cassidy & Richards will have goals in them to beat Armenia.just believe few of the omissions would strengthen squad - gwion edwards given new 3 year contract at swansea.

With all the calls for GB to enter the qualifiers for the next Olympics, it's more important than ever that fans turn up to show their support for the Wales U21s. The higher up the UEFA rankings our U21s are, and the more often we go close to qualifying for the Euros, the stronger a case for keeping Wales and the other separate nations in the European U21 Championship. Hope North Wales turns out in force.
Worth noting that the Wales / GB players have 49 Wales U21 caps in total - they owe our Under 21 system a lot and should be backing it.

Don't really rate that squad much compared to our golden generation boys a couple of years back. Only really Richards and a couple of english lads who may or may not really want to play for us look like having much of a future in the game Reminds me more of the under-21 days when Hartson was our only serious player. Still you cant expect every age group to throw up as many gems as the last lot did.

Hopefully everyone who can't make it down to Llanelli on the 15th will turn up for the U21s match. A shame the two games are on the same night once again. Prices for the Armenia U21s game: Adults - £5 Students & OAPs - £3 U16s - Free

More serious than Robbie Savage anyway, though he does have a certain charm. And yes I do realise we are a mere point behind the mighty Armenia currently

They've obviously got some good young players coming through the system.

I may have found another player for us, it seems a Patagonian cousin ventured north and settled down in Uruguay: Matias Jones plays for FC Groningen in the Netherlands and has played for Uruguay Under 20s already, looks decent enough, and with a surname like that there must be a Welsh link somewhere?! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mat%C3%ADas_JonesI hope Geraint Williams will be as enthusiastic as Flynn bach in scouring the world for Welsh qualified players...

Rob Ogleby just scored in his first game of the season for Wrexham, and has had a cracking pre-season. He can count himself a bit unlucky not to be in the squad.

Jonathan Williams has suffered a hamstring injury and is out of the Under 21 squad for the Armenia game.
Called up is Josh Pritchard (Fulham).
