Great win for Cardiff tonight. Let’s hope next season we have a front Welsh Born 3 of Davies, Harris and Bale

Thank god Cardiff put extra money into their youth system. This will really benefit our national team in the next few years. I just wish Swansea would do the same. We have the talent, we just need our clubs to make use of them.

Great finish but I was more impressed by the space he worked himself into before receiving the ball. Lovely bit of movement and keeping himself onside.

We have the talent, we just need our clubs to make use of them. Mentioned on here on a few occasions, there's a young striker at Caerdydd who's scoring goals for fun at youth level. James Crole?? May be the future going forward for club and the national team.

We have the talent, we just need our clubs to make use of them. To be fair to the Swans I was always looking over jealously at them that they tended to be the ones developing players that played for the national team - Ben Davies - Connor Roberts - Joe Rodon - Joe Allen - Dan James - Ben Cabango These have all come through the Swans academy since our resurgence as a national team. You could even say they were instrumental in turning Neil Taylor & Ashley Williams into very effective players for us. I think we have a lot to thank them for, and I'm a Cardiff fan In that time Cardiff brought through - Aaron Ramsey - Chris Gunter - Joe Ledley And nothing else for a while really. Now it's great to see a new crop ready to step in should we need them, but I can't say anything bad about what the Swans have done developmentally I just hope we get to a point whereby Cardiff and Swansea are in the top 2 tiers with several Welsh players a part of their starting XI's. Then Newport and Wrexham become League One regulars (if not better) and do the same thing for bringing Welsh players through. Then if we can get the Cymru Premier up to around the level of the Irish League then we will be in a fantastic place as a national team

The last post seems to be a unnecessarily impolite reaction to a reasonably expressed opinion. You can disagree, of course, but please (a) explain why and (b) don't be so rude.
Back to the topic - Mark Harris - yes, good impact player, scores goals and is in with a shout for the March camp if he keeps going well.

With Moore out, he's probably one of the first players to come on if we need to change the system. I can see a scenario where we're a goal down after 60mins with bale and james up front, and Page moves to a front 3 with Harris playing through the middle.

Reminds me of Simon Church, great runs, stretches opposition, offers something different.

2 goals now, which probably makes him joint top scorer! It's so frustrating that at times he looks like a really good player, but then goes on a 20-game scoreless run. Always has an impact though and does a lot of good work in pressing and stretching defences. I would have him in the 26 personally

Just turned 24, it can't be easy at Cardiff at the moment but he's clearly not a natural goalscorer, he's a different kind of striker. I haven't seen enough of him to make a great judgement on him but he's never convinced me in front of goal and I wouldn't mind seeing him miss out in the next squad for someone else like Collins, we need players who are confident in front of goal taking the striker slots in the squad.

It was obvious 12 months + ago that he should not be in an international squad.
What is his strike rate? Something like one in eight or ten? What is his assist rate? Low I bet
He is extremely mediocre.
Tyler Roberts is a massive disappointment but he is much more talented, at least in theory. He is not international standard either unfortunately
Collins at 25 is unlikely to be international standard but I would agree he is no less deserving a player than Harris.

He is one of those weird players that I have no idea what he is, and I don't think he does either. Doesn't look like a striker, nor wing, nor attacking midfielder.
I don't see why we can't give Collins, Jack Vale or even Bradshaw an opportunity now.

Let's just hope that Mullin does the business against Coventry to remove some of the doubt, I'd take him and Collins over Harris right now, I'd take Bradshaw and even Ellis Harrison over Harris right now, we need guys that can and are scoring.

I don't see why we can't give Collins, Jack Vale or even Bradshaw an opportunity now. Earlier in the season the manager described Harris as someone who was working on his hold up play and it improving, he's more likely to be able to do this than Collins and Bradshaw, but unfortunately we didn't see that on the weekend and it lead to their goal. The goals he's scored have been really nice goals (lots of different sorts as well: creating for himself with good closing down, shots outside the box, finishes from inside the area) but there have been far, far too few of them to be an outright striker. If he was 21/22, I'd be excited by the flashes of talent he's shown but he's 24 and my expectations are more managed now. The best we've seen of him in Welsh shirt is that Belarus away game where his pace, size and work rate (him being a nuisance player) played role in Bale's third but, you know, should really have been first goal for Sparky himself.

Agree with Surge but I think we all know we need more than nuisance at international level.

That is interesting.
Blackburn play a 4231 and as Harris is a winger or a forward he offers great cover for that system. Perhaps they see him as a backup to Gallagher or playing him behind Gallagher and playing through balls for Hedges and Brereton-Diaz. Out of all the other 23 teams in the championship to my eye (although untrained and not an expert of course) it definitely seems to be the move that makes the most sense.

Didn't want to pay 700k, bit weird, it's not like they would have been breaking the bank and you can't expect a club in Cardiff's situation to just give away a fringe attacker.
