Just a hint of bitterness in that article 😂

We are also lucky that Eddie Howe is looking after him. Brooks getting subbed 60-70 mins and missing out on league cup games is not a bad thing

Hilarious comment from an Ireland fan on the way back to Cardiff Central: "That Jonny Williams has got f***ing good hasn't he?" No mate, That's Dai Did he also mention how amazed he was with Johnny's new (dodgy) barnet...!? And the fact that he's quite clearly had copious amounts of botox to achieve an effortlessly youthful appearance 😂

'England Under 20 player David Brooks is clearly a talent. Not only did he play a vital part in his countries' eventual triumph in the Toulon tournament, he was also named as 'player of the tournament'. Along with Sancho and Foden, Brooks is showing that there is a bright future for English football and Southgate is casting a keen eye over his young Cubs. Warrington born David Brooks is clearly a young man with a bright future.'

Apparently he played in the no 10 roll today.
MOTD singing his praises.

Yeah, put in a good shift and missed a chance late on in the game.
Lots of commentators saying the Cherries should have been awarded a penalty after Brooks was apparently taken down by Shaw in the penalty box.

Had a cracking game against United, nutmegged Smalling early doors too. He should be starting every game for us.

Had a cracking game against United, nutmegged Smalling early doors too. He should be starting every game for us. He will start for us by virtue of playing regularly in the Premier League. It's getting very close between Lawrence and Wilson for the other starting position in our attack. Lawrence seems a bit more cinsistent in his general play at the moment, but Wilson seems to be more of a match winner. My guess would be that Goggs favour Lawrence at the moment, and Harry will be the impact sub. On Dai though, his rise has been extremely fast, and he deserves so much credit for how he has responded to being released my Man City. An example to all other young footballers.

All three can start as any of them can play as no.10, but Lawrence is the more experienced in that role. Bale Wilson - Lawrence - Brooks Allen - Ramsey Not a bad attack and midfield for Denmark. Ampadu starting is probably too soon after his injury.

Ampadu starting is probably too soon after his injury. The combination of allen and rambo doesn't provide enough solidity at the base of midfield imo. Interestingly, I hear that Wilson has been playing in a deeper midfield role for derby recently, so we could potentially stick with the same personnel but give the defence more protection through lining up like this: Lawrence - Bale - Brooks Wilson - Allen - Ramsey Even then I'm not sure if it gives enough solidity, so I would probably go for: Lawrence/Wilson - Bale - Brooks Smith - Allen - Ramsey

Must admit that I took a long time to be won over by David. Felt that his defending was very erratic and he didn't close down that well when in Sheffield. Since his move, he has really improved this side of his game - and a goal-line clearance is testimony to that.
In my eyes, he still needs to do what young Ben did last year - totally influence a match.
But that will come. Hopefully v Denmark

Praised again on MOTD playing in the no 10 role.
Got some rough treatment and should have had a pen.
Great if he can play in that role with all the wide players we now have.

What a prospect he is. Dare I say - I think he's a better team player than Bale, and possibly even Ramsey. Going forwards I'd love to see more intricate play between the likes of Allen, Brooks, Ramsey and Ampadu. They have the capability, we just need the tactical approach right.
For me Lawrence should be used as a bench player going forwards. Terrific pace and dribbling ability - but his decision making is pretty poor. We need Woodburn to get some game time - because he has far more footballing ability from what I've seen.

I liked the combination between Dai and Connor - they really can create magic together going forward.

I agree about Lawrence having an X factor - which is why I would have him on the bench. I think Denmark provide several markers for how we should be looking to play. You have to earn the right to play, rather than relying on moments of individual brilliance, but surrendering the middle of the park. We have the talent to control affairs and to counter-attack, as long as the balance of selection and the tactical approach is right.

We’re not physical enough right now, which is understandable to some extent considering the amount of young players being drafted in. The coaches need to remember that pretty skill and tactics and formation are no good without the fight inside. Interesting that we seemed to spark only after Ampadu took matters into his own hands.
