Starting against Panama on this form surely? Should have come on versus Ireland! Don't think anyone other than Bale would've made a difference to be honest. People would be saying the same about Woodburn if he hadn't come on, he came on and was unable to make any impact - I think Brooks might have been the same scenario.

Yes but other than Ramsey we had no other game breaker. When you are crashing out of a competition with nothing to lose - you have to flood the pitch with game breakers.
Woodburn (runs at people, lethal shot from distance) and Brooks (takes on players, can dribble and score different types of goals) were potential game breakers. Vokes most definitely is not. It was obvious who Ireland would be more comfortable defending against.

We were playing Ireland not Italy or Germany!

Brooks on as a sub five mins later scores his first senior goal away at Elland Rd. ‘Brooks, Brooks will tear you apart again’ catchy song ;=)

Brooks on as a sub five mins later scores his first senior goal away at Elland Rd. ‘Brooks, Brooks will tear you apart again’ catchy song ;=) As a Leeds fan I watched the game and as soon as I saw him pulling on his jersey I just knew he would have a crucial effect on the game. I could also see a sense of excitement and growing confidence on the Sheff. Utd. bench at the time he was about to come on which was a good sign and Chris Wilder was having loads of congrats from his background staff for the substitution after the Brooks goal. The lad even had the audacity to run behind the goal and look at the Leeds fans in the eye whilst wagging his finger...! : ) Takes some balls that!! The 'Brooks will tear you apart' song is one that we can adopt for sure.

Dai’s recent exploits have earned him a start for Sheff Utd tonight.

Superb 45 mins just like when he came on against France. Pick of the youngsters so far.
Should be a nailed on starter going forward.

I got zero support when I stated Brooks should have come on instead of Vokes versus Ireland when we were behind instead of Vokes.
Hopefully you can all see why now.

I know we shouldn't hype players due to previous misjudgments but this kid could be huge.

Brooks outshone the Starman over the last two games and that says A LOT.
The pair of them link up well as it is but imagine how good they will be either side of Ramsey with Lawrence or a certain Gareth Bale in front of them.
Cant wait for China friendlies already!

Maybe the view from the Ninian is better, but the Starman looked grand in my eyes. Yes. Brooksie is decent as well :+)

Agree completely with this, Woodburn was the only one of the youngsters slightly off his game in my view, losing the ball on numerous occasions - which is to be expected considering his age! I'm also really looking forward to these playing more with Ramsey who looked like a different player when they came on against France. A team containing players of the technical capability of Allen, Ampadu, Ramsey, Woodburn, Brooks, Lawrence and Bale is extremely exciting - obviously impossible to include them all but we should aim to include 5 or 6 in every game. We have 5 great players there who can play in the forward positions, and hopefully the likes of Roberts and Wilson will be ready to compete with them soon! Exciting times....

Very impressed with him and his attitude, obviously along with our 3 other rising stars, Lawrence, Woodburn and Ampadu.

He was also booked before he scored. For diving. Oh dear. Hope He cuts that out of his game. Other than that, I'm happy for him to score every week, as long as united end up losing ;-)
