On the bench again, while liability Tanganga plays! Spurs are such a shit club. I think they are playing a back 4? Now Davies is great in a back 5 but back 4? In a back 4 I would have Rodon everytime over Davies. I know that horrible club has blown his confidence though Please get the hell out of there Joe and when you return to them playing for someone else you can look to get your piece of karma Don't forget this horrible club nearly sold a talented 20 year old Bale to Portsmouth

Nothing to do with the club. Completely agree he needs to get out, he would be a good addition for a lower prem side. I think t's certainly a back 5, can't see how else they would fit emerson royal, sanchez, tanganga, davies and doherty in

As you say it was 5 not 4.
Tanganga is absolute shit yet gets chances.
Rodon has shown for Wales he can be a commanding CD against very good strikers.
He is nervous playing for them and looks poor because that club have killed his confidence. I am objective - I have seen him play for Wales and last season for Spurs in odd games. There is no way he is not a decent defender compared to jokers like Tanganga
Rodon's weakness is his offensive not his defensive game but everyone needs a run of games to get consistency. How many times has Rodon played more than 1 game in a row for Spurs? With Dier injured they should have given him a run of a couple of games. Tanganga is not Beckenbauer!

No news on Joe Rodon then I assume he is being forced to stay as back up in case they 5 defenders ahead of him get injured Or Levy is not happy unless he double his money on an investment Totally shit from a Welsh perspective. I hope he is fuming!

24 years old and only played 1 PL game this season. Not too sure he was actually angling for a move considering some of his brother’s tweets. Disappointing as he really needs game-time at his age.

Really its a bit of a loser's feel sorry for yourself mentality isn't it?
He is clearly not valued and not wanted there!
I would be angry, want to leave and use my anger to drive me on to prove everyone wrong

Really disappointing that he didn't leave in January. He won't play in any meaningful game for Spurs again unless they have in injury crisis, so this'll be another 6 months down the drain for him. He'll be 25 in October, with less than 100 appearances to his name.
So what next for him? Can't see another Premier League club coming in for him, so I guess he'll have to drop back down to the Championship in the summer. It's a real shame what's happening with his career considering how exciting it was looking 18 months ago.

Neco was agitating for a move and got his wish in the end. Rodon's clearly not wanted but there have never been any noises about him being unhappy or agitating for a move. It's the same with Ward.
Rumours are usually generated when players want something to happen, and so their agents start leaking stuff out. That's usually why there is something in a rumour, even if the rumour itself is completely bollocks. The fact that there have been next to no rumours about the likes of Rodon and Ward tells me they haven't tried to get their agents to makes something happen

Spurs was too much of a leap for him. It would have been better to join a unfashionable club like Palace or Burnley, and build a reputation as a decent PL player, rather than a top 6 club as "one for the future".

Everyone's so pessimistic about Joe R getting any game time at Spurs for the rest of the season. Why so? There are plenty of matches left to play and who's to say that he won't break into the first team one way or another, whether due to the injuries/unavailability of others - or by dint of his own efforts and hard work in training.
I concede that there's less time before mid-March for that to happen, but... who knows?
Make a few crunching tackles, Joe, and play some well-placed passes out of defence to catch Signor Conti's eye on the training ground - so's you get some top level games under your belt before you meet Arnautovic, Alaba and co!

It's nothing to do with pessimism. Fact is, he is way down the pecking order.
Conte said last year that Rodon was Diers' backup, yet when Dier became injured, he played Sanchez in that middle CB role!
Clearly lacks ambition, and disappointing that he didn't force through a move to play regular football.
Very strange because he stormed off after playing his last Spurs game.

Unfortunately he is not currently premier standard. Needs to go back to the Championship and play every week. Like the vast majority of our players they are either Championship or Div 1 standard. The last 3 spurs managers have not rated him. Roden will play more games for Wales than Spurs before the end of the season. This is not good as many of our starting 11 are not regulars at their clubs.

He's been struggling a lot with a rib injury for a while now.
Joe was clearly not in a good place when he started against Morecambe in the cup and its probably resulted in him being kept out of action over recent weeks. I can't think of another reason why an out of form Tanganga has been playing regularly, given the club was trying to loan him out in January given AC Milan interest apparently.

Unfair to call him unambitious IMO
He's clearly ambitious by trying to break through at a team like Spurs. We obviously want him match ready for March, but maybe Conte wasn't willing to let his back up go? Who knows. I doubt the lad is happy with not playing

I am slightly concerned that three managers now haven't given him an opportunity to get a run of games under his belt.
Similar move to Dan James next season hopefully, step back elsewhere to hopefully make a step forward later down the line and establish himself as a premier League regular.

Great game from Joe last night, all things considered. Arnoutovic was clear through and he made up the ground, got shoulder to shoulder and managed to get an arm across and take him to the ground, legally, class defending.

"Joe Rodon improved a lot from November until now." - Conte About time he gives him a chance then, he's got the makings of a very good centre back but he needs to play and continue to learn and develop. I want him to leave in the summer and I've said it many times but if Forest come up he's absolutely perfect for them and what they're going to need, a guy that loves defending, loves putting his body on the line and one that knows the manager very well.

I feel Conte will use him as a backup next season, and he will get more cup games. Conte needed to establish himself at the club and get the fans onside. He's done that, and there's a real buzz about Spurs now. Next season he will rotate more
That being said I think he'd be better suited to a newly promoted side, or Newcastle if they look to bring in a partner for Burn. I think Rodon could be perfect for Eddie Howe

Very interesting! I feel it would be a good move & he would get more game time than at Spurs. But I don't know that he'd be first choice. Chris Smalling plays in the middle of their back 3 & is very liked over there. I don't know what their situation is with outgoings, but you feel that developing in the Italian league under Mourinho would only be a good thing for him

Although I think Joe will be brilliant in Italy

Last couple months of Mourinho's reign he was a starter. Ryan the temp then booted him out for his mates.
