I didn't know they did it before every game. I like watching Nolwenn Leroy's rendition at the French cup final that was contested between 2 Breton teams. But that's cool that it's a regular thing

Quite cool that he's off to a Breton team with our Celtic connections and all that. I guess Rennes playing in the French league is a bit like Swansea, Cardiiff, Newport, Wrexham etc playing in the English league? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I still think he could have done a very good job for a mid to upper PL team, but at least now I've got an excuse to watch some French league matches!

That is correct yes, but Breton teams perform far better proportionately in the French league than ours do in the English league

Rennes, Nantes, Brest, Lorient all Breton teams playing in the top flight, and Guingamp also play in the 2nd division. So that would be the equivalent of us having Cardiff, Swansea, Newport & Wrecsam all in the top flight, and Merthyr in tier 2. On top of that Rennes have been European regulars for the last few seasons and played in the Champions League for the first time ever during COVID

Perfect for Rodon at this stage. Regular game time hopefully, European football and although arguably a 'farmers league', still gets to test himself against the likes of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe!

Reading about them, they seem like a mini Ajax with a production line of talent feeding bigger clubs. Not saying that that's the goal here, but speaks of player development.
