Deserves to be involved in the upcoming friendlies. He's earned the right.

Can't possibly comment about Christian, as I haven't seen him.
Still, these friendlies are a prep for a major tournament - one which I'd like to think we actually have a chance of progressing deep into. Well. At least 1/4 finals?
The only "new" kid I can imagine genuinely deserving of a place (in the March friendlies) is Huws - but with 11 caps and a fantastic pedigree, he is hardly "new".
The time for experimenting is over. Would love Christian (as well as Hal) to come into the fold in SEPTEMBER ...<!---->

We have two matches with which to do exactly that and it would be pointless to play our best XI in both. Players like Doidge and Neco Williams have earned the right to be involved in one or both friendlies. It's a no for me on Hal, altogether.

I feel like the March friendlies are ideal for experimentation, lets not forget the team will have a training camp plus 2 friendlies in June to solidify a plan(s), which may or may not include players from the March experimentations.

He's a proven goal scorer - why not give him a try?
When is the squad to be announced for the March friendlies?

I could score a couple in scotland to be honest, why not call me up Have you? obviously not but my point is the quality of the league is dreadful, when he was at Bolton in the championship he struggled to make an impact. Stick somebody like bradshaw in scotland and he scores 30 odd in a season.

Look where playing players from poor leagues brought scotland, 3-0 loss to Kazakhstan. A country only known because of the film borat.

I agree he should get a chance, and I agree with your disagreement of people saying he should be on the plane. I don't think he should at this point in time. The Scottish league is in the top 20 leagues in Europe, so I wouldn't be too dismissive of the quality. It's a far higher level than the Cymru Premier for example. And Doidge was at a club in the Championship that was very poor and riddled with off the field problems so I wouldn't judge him by that too much. The way I look at it is that he deserves a chance in a friendly and we can judge him from there, much like Kieffer Moore.

Give him a chance in a friendly and see how he goes. Surely we are using these games to check out fringe players ready for the summer.

Would he get in the Swansea or Cardiff first teams? If you have to think about the answer then he should be nowhere near a Welsh squad. He’s somebody where we should bring back the B team fixture. Maybe could learn something from him.

Maybe could learn something from him. I don't know if you have noticed, but almost all our centre forwards play in the Championship or below. We aren't Spain, Germany or England where we have a large pool of players plying their trade at the top level. For me, Moore is the priority in the position, followed by Hal Robson-Kanu after a good season at West Brom which saw them promoted but after that there is nobody really standing in Doidge's way. Vokes struggles to start for a poor Stoke side and Bradshaw isn't finding the net enough for me. As for Tyro, I see him as more of a behind the striker sort of player, like where Leeds have played him. I don't think he possesses the muscle to play as the out and out striker. Based on all this I don't see any reason to not at least try Doidge in a friendly.

Hope he gets a chance in a friendly
I know there is more to football than stats, but for context though he has 14 goals in 31 games. Church scored 6 in 13 at the same level (from Wikipedia)

Doidge is 6'1 and a physical presence. Like a poor man's Moore.
If you are looking at a 3rd choice behind Moore & Hal, then it is Vokes v Doidge and I think Doidge at least deserves a shot given Vokes form.

Church scored 6 in 13 at the same level (from Wikipedia) It’s actually 18 goals in 38 last season and 2 in 2 so far this one, a goal every other game. His form is even more impressive with 11 goals in his last 16 appearances. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/christian-doidge/leistungsdaten/spieler/255353Definitely deserves a call up.

Should he get in to the squad for the Euro's next years, he'll have managed to play for Wales in the European Championships at two different sports (Basketball and Football).

I watched Christian a lot during 2018/19 for Bolton, mainly from the bench, he rarely made the starting 11 in a poor Championship team. He was an honest and bright player, but veered toward the channels too much for me, more a poor man's HRK than Kieffer Moore. Scored one goal in 17 appearances, albeit a screamer against Rotherham. He is not that strong physically, so I really don't think he will add anything to the national team that we don't already have. Probably deserves a call up in a friendly and hope he proves me wrong because I really liked his endeavour and intelligence at that level, but unless his game has improved exponentially in Scotland, I think he's some way short of the required quality to lead the line if we have real ambitions in 2021.

Playing on Sky now, hasn’t scored just yet but brilliant hold-up play and great leap for a header to trouble the keeper.
Brings more to Giggsy’s style than HRK and Vokes imo. Doidge more mobile than Vokes, probably better aerially than HRK- and hasn’t previously retired from Cymru (Although i do love HRK and Vokes).
Yeah yeah SPFL standard blah blah blah..... I’d say English League 1 standard. Anyone scoring goals regularly at that level deserves a call-up. Especially with the skill set of Doidge.
plus he’s fully match fit. Won’t hurt to see him for a Cymru game or two at the very least.

What will be interesting to see, is whether Vokes will stay in the squad purely down to loyalty, or will Giggs go for a new set of forwards to start the season?
You could say Giggs has been ruthless in previous selection but Vokes & Gunter are still hanging around in the squad even when not playing/not in form. It makes me think Giggs sees value in keeping them as squad players. If Vokes is retained and Moore is in, I see it as a straight fight between HRK & Doidge for the 3rd spot & I think HRK edges it given he's played in a Championship promotion winning side.

I think this squad might see the dropping of Vokes, it will have been over 9 months since we last played and Giggs could look at that period of time to 'move' certain players on. I think Ash might miss out this squad and Gunter to

I suspect that due to injuries at CB, Ash will just about make it, and I also think Gunter might make it as LB cover. Vokes though I think could be ready to make way - and the other two will have trouble making the squad in future, especially with few injuries in their respective positions
