This contains most relevant details: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elite_Player_Performance_PlanA category one academy player gains £40,000 per year (coached between 12 and 16) compensation for his parent club. Not great for sure, and a legitimate gripe of EFL clubs. Extra compensation is available for years coached before the age of 12 (but only £3000 a year) and for appearances at professional level.

I would be appalled if the FAW were to pay for any infrastructure development at the CCS - or the Liberty for that matter. It would be next to impossible to justify such an action given the urgent need to invest in grassroots football. A case could be made for a limited investment in the Racecourse - if that investment could be shown to have a tangible return for Welsh football. But even there it's hard to make a case unless the FAW come into a lot of money (some chance).

I agree 100% My earlier post ref the expansion of Cardiff City stadium wasn’t suggesting the FAW should pay for it, just that Cardiff won’t be extending any time soon especially after Tan got his fingers burnt last time.

No chance of the FAW doing that so don’t worry. They couldnt afford it even if they wanted to.

For all the money PL clubs spend on academies, very few of their scholars get the opportunity to progress to the 1st team. They'd rather buy ready made from abroad. Hence the ridiculous situation of dozens of players on loan from a club, with no hope of them ever representing their parent club.

They won't expand. They said there was 29000 there today, but that includes all season ticket holders. A good few thousand of them were missing so in real terms there was about 26000 in the ground. So if they expanded they couldn't fill the seats.

So if they expanded they couldn't fill the seats. You are always going to have a few season ticket holders not turning up. Its normal. Some clubs have a ticketing exchange service whereby season ticket holders can sell their ticket back to the club for x amount of money but we have never needed one in the past and I cant imagine us needing one anytime soon either as tickets are still easy to get hold of for most matches (there were over 2000 unsold seats in the home ends today for instance). If we could somehow stay up and become a force at this level one day then we might need a bigger stadium at some point in the future but for now our stadium is just the right size for us IMO.

Another win against Wolves (!). Well done. Some fight at long last. They're clearly improving - now 15th in the league. Maybe coming up against all those big guns has done them some good after all.

It just proves the point that there are a lot of lazy & ignorant football journalists & pundits, as well as a totally gullible set of Premier League fans who believe everything they come out with.

Very impressed with Cardiff this season. I had them as a cert for the drop but they're doing everything in their power to prove me wrong. Go on lads.

It’s a fair assumption as Warnock has no record of keeping clubs in the top flight. Survival then a second season of consolidation is what Cardiff need.
I read Warnock’s second book and his return to management after Leeds surprised me. It seemed he was done with it.

Massive win and it should have been 2-0 at least in the first half alone.
A bit more composure in front of goal and Cardiff will stay up this season. 🏴

Given themselves a real chance
Looks like around 32 points will be enough and they are on target for that.
Will depend on results against the sides below them and have most of them away from home.
Looks like they will beat the 25 points I predicted.

I honestly think we have a shot of staying up now. I am slightly concerned that we only have 1 point away but as long as we're taking care of business at home, happy days.

According to Radio 5, Cardiff's wage budget for the season is £20m less than anyone else's. It would be a miracle to stay up

Warnock afraid of putting pressure on himself Or just cutting their cloth accordingly? Shame our capital city can't compete financing with small towns on England ( not a dig by the way)
