Going to watch this David Brent film on BBC1 then head to Gatwick via the night tube and London Bridge.
I should’ve gone via Italy and ate pizza with manulike.

The 6:20 from Gatwick rammed full of Welsh. My pals from Merthyr in the bar beforehand.
Chilling with a beer now. I haven’t slept since 9am Saturday morning but feel stunning.

AIRPORT INFO
Money changers give 137 to pound and 120 to Euro. I used my Starling Card at BKT ATM machine in the DEPARTURE area. As you exit, turn RIGHT and RIGHT again. Same building...
There was NO withdrawal fee and the rate was just short of 140/£. 10,000 lek for £71.45
The ATM machine on the far left was only giving out Euro notes...
It was 126/€ and 144/£ when Bank BUYING back... so best to spend your leks in airport shops/cafe.
There is a kiosk in far right corner of departure hall with 500ml Tirana beer bottles for 100 lek...
CITY CENTRE BUS Walk out of departure terminal. Turn LEFT and it's about 50m - just behind the concrete pillar. LUNA BUS. Costs 250 lek. Has 4 stops in the city centre, so ask the driver for the most convenient for you.

Just paid 350 Lek for a Paulaner. I wanted local brew but she just brought me that. Think it’s about £2.50.
I have Euros so will be changing them as and when. The weather is lousy.

Down town Tirana makes Chisinau look like the pinnacle of Western glitz ,:+)
it's more West Bank than West End...
The local Byrekeria (=burek/chachapuri) was selling local beer bottles for 100 lek ... so you were mugged ;-) The 80 lek Byrek were lovely. A lot less oily than Serbian Burek. Something between a croissant and a chachapuri. Perfect breakfast food :+)

TONIGHT'S OPERA SHOW. La Traviata.
KO is at 7pm and it's NOT at the National Opera House, but it is in fact just behind The Palace of Congresses and very near to the new sports arena.
Tickets are still available, but best to arrive by 6pm if you can. Cost from 350 to 1200 lek.

Thanks manulike, any opera Monday? Any sights in Elbasan as i cant see drinking for 3 hrs a good idea Unfortunately, the next show is the Philly Orchestra on Friday / Saturday evenings at 7pm. Same venue. Apparently, the beautiful Opera House downtown in the main square has been under renovation for last two years, with no end in sight. The new venue, near Leigh' s original bus venue, is more of an multi function lecture hall type place. Still, the 1000 lek ticket was really well spent. There was even a running English transcript on large screens! Not quite the same as the Kiev Romeo and Juliet, though... For Elbasan, I think there are Turkish Baths in one of the hotels inside the Walls. Might even be the one were Leigh is having the Gol party? Not sure , tho. Oh, and by the way. I managed to discover The Other Side of the river... Bloody hell... What a difference! I can see now why they didn't allow the riff-raff in. Almost as bad as the glitzy Disney Land outside Nanning, where the FAW - in their wisdom - thought it would be good for our fans to drink at £5 a bottle...

LOCAL BUS to Elbasan
Google Maps has it correctly under South East bus terminal. It's 250 lek / 45 minutes.
Buses run every 30 minutes between 6am-9am and then NO BUSES until 1pm! From 1pm til 4pm every 15 to 30 minutes. Last bus back is at 9.30pm
LOCAL BUS TO PORCELAN / BUNKART 1 and Dajti cable car
The most convenient bus stop is right across the road from the Airport bus. With your back to BunkArt 2, head towards the Clock Tower, turn right and you will see several BLUE coloured busses with destination "Porcelain" .
40 lek til the end of the line. Look for the Ministry of Culture (Soviet style building) and then use the Map.Me (free, even offline) or Google Maps (which is rubbish offline)

Currently at the Mount Datji bar, prices are cheap as always and an absolutely magnificent view. Albania delivering on all fronts. People are the most hospitable I’ve ever met. Hope the rest of you are enjoying it!

Nice trip here. The rain could be abhorrent at times but I’m from Wales and used to it.
Thought that Scampi place pre-match took the mick with bar prices. 500 Lek. We had one and left. Nice crawl on the way down.

For those still in town, the local National Circus (Cirku Kombetar) is one Street behind the official Tourist Information / UFO Theatre, just North of Skanderbeg Sq. Will head there now, as no info online.
At 7pm this evening there are still tickets for ROSSINI IL"BUONGUSTAIO" at Art Tribuna on Rruga Sami Frasheri

...just in case anyone is interested, the 7pm concert tonight is FREE of charge. Normally it's per invitation only, but lady at cassava was saying so few tickets were given out, that she would be happy to see as many of us as possible :+)
The area is called "Little Paris" and it's ridiculously posh... follow Woodrow Wilson's right shoulder from his statute. It's another 100m on your right. East of Mother Teresa Sq.
As for the Circus. Shows every Saturday and Sunday, but only at 11am :+( Same difficulty with the Puppet theatre, on SE side of Skanderbeg Sq - daily shows, but only at 10am...
Tickets for both are a very reasonable 200 lek :+)
