There is a wizz flight from Luton to Skopje, I’ve used it a few times but Skopje is miles away, there is also an airport at Lake Ohrid but I don’t believe there is a flight from the uk..? You can forget public transport in Macedonia and Albania, it’s not good your probably better off hiring a car! I’ve booked with Wonky Sheep events, a direct flight from Gatwick to Tirana, hotel with breakfast and transportation £375 which I didn’t think was that bad. I’ve been critical of wonkysheep pricing in the past but this one seems fair to be fair Speak as you find, we went to China with them - very reasonable price wise, there was 53 of us all together and I got to be honest it was nice to be around like minded fans, met some lovely people which I'm sure we will see again on future trips!

Seen wizz to a nearby Macedonia location, but the bus is really awkward sounding. We're on a flight connecting in Rome. Ohrid is the one that I was talking about, you can fly direct there from the UK and it's around 60 miles away from Tirana. There are buses that go between the two cities, but a couple of articles have made me believe that it'd be incredibly awkward so anyone chancing that route may want to look into car hire. Our flights+apartment have come to approx £230pp.

I think we will have a few supporters on this trip thats why I booked early, its cheap as chips in Albania although its not the warmest time.

Reckon we'll take more than that for a friendly in Albania on a Tuesday night? Nothing surprises me with Wales Away at the moment! That's true...still I can't see many more than 500 going out to watch a second string Wales play unattractive opposition on a cold wet Tuesday near Xmas.
Saying that...me plus three booked on an early morning flight out of LHR Sunday 18th back on 21st. See you all in Rome for that party!

You'll be on the same one as us I imagine. 07:25 from LHR, into Tirana for 14:55?

Booked a hotel 3 nights for two with breakfast via booking.com for £107. Lots of others going for similar price and cheaper. Gotta love an Eastern European away trip.

I was baffled when I saw on a few facebook posts that people wished the fixtures were reversed and we had Spain away and Albania at home. Do Spain anytime, how many chances will you get to go to Albania?

There was bugger all in Moldova, still had an amazing trip. Looks more to do in Albania as well. They’re what you make of them.

We took a trip to a brandy distillery in Transnistria, like I said it's what you make of them.
The average for November is about 9-10 degrees Celsius, t shirt weather for a few of us, can't see that deterring many.

It definitely won't deter many, I was just answering the question as to why some people would prefer to play Spain away and Albania at home.

The casual Wales Away fan would prefer Spain because it would be a chance to see Wales play a big nation away and top up their tan (tongue in cheek before I get slated!!!!!) Albania is more for the Wales Away regular, somewhere different. As someone else said, you can go to Spain anytime, Albania is an adventure into the unknown! When was the last time we played them, 1995? Not many fans would have been there before. I still have the programme from the home game. Was only about 4 pages!

The Welsh FA will gauge interest as usual. 500 will happen easily if we have a good display in the next run of games.

Bit left field: Return flight Bristol - Bari around £100 Return cruise Bari - Durres around £100 Excellent idea! You also must take the renewed train service from Durres directly to the stadium. Seat61 has a brand new 2018 update that its a 1325 departure and arrives Elbasan at 1610. That train ride will make the entire trip - I will take the one-hour detour bus from Tirana especially to Durres to take it ;-)

I took a locals bus from Skopje to Thessaloniki (Greece) when we played there in 2013. The bus, the trip and crossing the border was fine. The only thing that I struggled with was booking the ticket as few spoke English and all the information was in Cyrillic.

Sun 18/11/18 13:40 London LTN 16:40 Ohrid OHD 2:00 h / DIRECT / £60 From a quick browse on TripAdvisor it looks very straightforward. Take any furgon/minibus on the route from Skopje to Tirana, but leave the bus at Struga - just 15km/20 minutes away. From Struga to Elbasan it appears to be very easy one hour ride.
