I get why players have social media accounts for sponsorship reasons and to help promote the club but surely if you cannot take the ugly side of social media then you should just have someone else run your socials for you. No one is forcing him to read all the abuse. That's by no means shifting blame on to him, I think some of the stuff on twitter in particular is appalling but there's little that can be done to stop that. I suggest Neco turns off his notifications and just get on with it, he doesn't need to go on there.

After a shaky start where it was clear the abuse from the last game was still affecting him, he had a very strong second quarter. He's up against pepe and saka and arsenal clearly targeted him from the start, but overall he's done well including one peach of a cross that should have ended in a goal.

Speedy recovery, Sadio!

Has a decent chance of making his Champions League debut tonight at home to Midtjylland tonight. Liverpool also have to play 3 more games by the 8th Nov (West Ham, Atalanta, Man City) - today's game may be their best chance of resting a few key players

A couple of decent run-outs now & then a rest before joining up with us is ideal. In the space of 5 games he has become our first choice right-back, both in terms of current form & his potential & moreover he suits our style of play perfectly.

They have selected their first choice defence though to be fair, minus van dijk. The loss of van dijk may count against Neco, as klopp would probably feel more comfortable in starting him if their defence wasn't severely weakened. I think you're right - this was his best chance of gametime before our next games

If they go a few goals ahead tonight I'd be surprised if Klopp didn't take the opportunity to rest Trent

Didn't get on, and interestingly Fabinho took an injury, meaning Rhys Williams is now the only other fit CB in their squad to partner Gomez

Annoying that Virgil van Dijk got injured just after the transfer window closed. Surely Liverpool would have considered an approach for Rodon under present circumstances.

Not sure if that would have been a great idea considering Liverpool's track record with Welsh players. I still have doubts on whether Neco is in the right place tbh.

Well it does look like he will waste a year hardly playing
I am a bit pissed off with Klopp. He obviously does not trust him much so why not send him out on loan Wales trust him and look how he has responded - a goal and assist in 3 matches. He has the talent but needs the matches / experience!

Interesting logic...

Neco on the bench. Klopp is a nob. 100% agree. It's not like Alexander-Arnold is a good player or crucial to the way Liverpool play.

Noticed he was not in the LFC matchday squad today, don't know why? The injury to Trent AA may give him the opportunity to start more games after the international break.

I reckon he will play it safe and play James Milner
If he does then it will be beyond annoying, as Neco will have wasted the opportunity to go out on loan. He has already shown for us he is good enough to play at least in the top half of the Championship and maybe mid to bottom wne of Premiership

Milner just gives them that versatility on the bench, with the ability to play either full-back. Depending on how serious the injury is, he could get some opportunities, either in the league or the Champions League.

Can't blame Klopp for playing Milner when TAA got injured against Man City away - N Phillips could have played but he realised this was a big game so needed experienced players out there - Neco will get his chance and will take it - he is still young and still learning
