I do love taking the side of our players, but if I had an option of him or Miller on the bench I'd choose Milner. Still an excellent player, who's versatile and has bags of experience.
As mentioned, Neco will get his chance.

I personally wouldn't have put Neco on yesterday. The game was on a knife edge and even TAA was struggling up against Sterling - would have been tough for Neco if he did have to go on

With TAA's injury as well, Neco may well get a decent run of games after this break. Klopp has complained about the fixture congestion and substitution rules and cited TAA's injury as proof things need to change, but he's not taken the opportunity to rest him when he could have in the games against Midtjylland & Atalanta where he could have either started Neco/Milner or at least made the change early when they were a few goals ahead

Very convenient timing, very convenient. Also convenient injuries for: Thomas Partey (Ghana) Bertrand Traore (Burkina Faso) Leandro Trossard (Belgium) Christian Pulisic (USA) Kai Havertz (Germany) Mario Lemina (Gabon) Thiago Alcantara (Spain) Sergio Aguero (Argentina) Mason Greenwood (England) Ryan Fraser (Scotland) Danny Ings (England) Erik Lamela (Argentina) Angelo Ogbonna (Italy) All in the last week, in just the Premier League, that will rule them out for the international break. Either it's a global conspiracy, or players do genuinely get injured. I'm not sure.

Joe Gomez has picked up a potentially serious injury meaning Liverpool have one less player able to play RB available, which is good news for Neco's chances of getting minutes.

Potentially, alternatively Klopp may be thinking the weaker the centre of defence, the more solid he needs his full backs to make up for it, and may see Milner as a safer alternative. TAA was only due to be out for four weeks. If that's true, he will be out for 5 Lpool games after the internationals. There's a decent chance Neco will start around 2 of those I suppose

Also means Fabinho, who can play right back, will probably play centre back. It's looking like it's a straight shoot out between Milner and Neco for the next few games.

Fantastic today. Klopp will be pleased with that considering he will need him now.

Getting abused and scapegoated on twitter. He needs to leave Liverpool and its scummy fans behind. "You'll never walk alone" my arse!

Liverpool have 15.9m followers on twitter. It only takes 0.1% of them being bell ends to be noticeable.

Good man management from Klopp, showing faith in him. He needs to take this opportunity to prove the doubters wrong.

Shit, gives away a pen with a clumsy challenge. Fortunately Brighton miss it, but it won't do his confidence much good nor the confidence of klopp and the fanbase in him

So strange Looks so assured for Wales but seems all at sea for Liverpool against limited opponents
Unfortunate but a loan move in Jan would seem the best option
Hopefully it makes him stronger for the future. Maybe he's not a full back?

I remember Arsenal and Tottenham fans full of bile for Bale and Ramsey and it was not Twitter. It was their fans' message board and 80% + of comments were negative. Weird how aggressively negative they seem to be against youngsters (I assume its not a Welsh thing).

Maybe he should learn from Milner in terms of the defensive side of his game?

Weirdly local players/academy products seem to get far more stick than signings, you'd think it would be the other way around

Milner got injured. Looks like he may be forced to play Neco again! It goes without saying that Neco has been handed a golden opportunity here. I think he needs to knuckle down and play ball, rather than retreat into his shell and cry foul at the first sight of a few haters.
