The only update I've found today is from Page, and the impression given is that it's him pushing for Neco to be involved in the squad but with no guarantee of him being fit enough to play, I haven't seen anything else. The exact comments from Page were that he's touched base with Neco and that he's fit for camp and ready to play the two games if selected. To me, that sounds like a standard communication with a player returning from injury - not sure why you see it as him pushing for Neco to be involved. There are pictures of Neco in training on Forest's twitter feed. Forest haven't come out with anything, but why would they? Their season is over and Neco had already been ruled out for their remaining games. I wouldn't expected progress updates on injuries from them during the off-season.

If you don't mind me saying, you sound like a supporter of a side who has the privilege of knowing they will qualify without having to worry too much. It's very different for us smaller nations. Every game in the campaign is massive for us, if we screw up one window then the whole campaign gets derailed very quickly. So we don't really have the privilege of leaving out an important player so that he can get himself into a better position for subsequent fixtures. We will be halfway through the campaign after this window and are up against our biggest rivals for qualifications. It's going to be very tight, so we need to throw everything at it. ...if Neco plays and things go wrong i hope Page is prepared to suffer the same amount of flack that Cooper got for playing Brennan as he thought he had to throw everything at it against Newcastle. Not really the same situation tho, at all. By the time we step onto the field against Armenia it will have been nearly 8 weeks since Neco was injured, if he's been training with Forest last week then he's been deemed fit enough to train 3 weeks before we play. If he's been training for 3 weeks prior to playing then you can't really say he's being rushed back if he's deemed low risk enough to train Whereas with Brennan he was injured on the Saturday, all the noises out of Forest at the time were that he would possibly miss the international break with the injury. Then to everyone's surprise he turns up in the Forest XI 7 days later, leading all of us to believe he'd recovered quickly and would be back in time for the internationals. Only for him to not be released for both of our games with the same injury, and return for Forest at the first game back. All of that happened within a month, half the time Neco has had to recover

i get what you are trying to say about the time span but i think the 2 are a little bit more similar than you are saying. Yes he was training with Forest last week but i didnt see any pictures of him involved in any physical contact it just seemed to be ball work and jogging. if that was the case then the 8 weeks may have just been strength work and basic general fitness. So that means possible 2 weeks of contact training against say the 7 days of nursing a hamstring and you dont know how either is going to react until put under the stress of proper match conditions.

Well I just hope Neco is fully recovered , from experience the injury he suffered could not have been that serious.

According to press reports from Nottingham...
Neco apparently spotted on holiday abroad this week, taking a selfie with Brazilian legend Ronaldinho - and picking up a few tips, hopefully!

Forest have signed World Cup winning right back Gonzalo Montiel on loan. Not sure if Aurier is on his way out but either way I doubt Neco will be getting much regular action this season now. Any chance he leaves on loan or permanently?

He played the full game against Sheffield United didn't he? You're right, looks like he played on the left. Didn't consider that he might switch sides because I didn't think Cooper had used him there much before. Perhaps my pessimism was a bit extreme, but even so, Forest have Aina and Toffolo on the left, so I doubt Neco will be much more than a rotational option on either side. He really needs to be a regular at this point in his career.

I think Neco is going to turn into one of these inverted full-backs eventually, and he does a decent job on the left. If he can play 50-75% of the games there for Forest that would be great

He really needs to be a regular at this point in his career. Toffolo has never really been a regular since the very start of last season, hardly played at all toward the end and is a worse player than Neco - he's also been charged with breaching the FA's betting rules. I can see Williams and Aina rotating as to the needs of certain games Neco played a few times at left back last season and is still only 22 with 46 Premier League games under his belt

Neco will play plenty of games for us this season as Toffolo is awiting his investigation into his betting. i can see him getting the same ban as Toney. Omar Richards is going out on loan to improve his fitness. Jack Colback has left the club so we will only have 2 players Neco & Aina to play on the left. Also in Neco's favour he qualifies as one of the home grown players which need to be within the squad.

Hoping you are right, his defensive work improved after being left out of the side. Still lots to work on needs to improve his final ball in the last third of the pitch. Above all the lad needs to have some luck on his side and have an injury free season as he is well liked within the club and by the supporters.

Forest have just signed Tavarez, a young left back from arsenal. So he'll have him and Aina to compete with for the LB / LWB spot, and Aurier and Montiel to compete with for the RB / RWB spot. On the plus side most of those aren't world beaters, but Neco will really need to up his game if he's going to get back into their first team

Still see Neco being an important part of our squad. With games now lasting around 100 mins more subs are going to be used and not many players will be playing all the playing time. Also he can cover both sides of the pitch which is always an advantage if any of the other 4 suffers a serious injury. The other night he played well with Elanga and seemed to build up a good understanding it is just a case that he needs to work on his passing in the attacking positions he finds himself in

Worrying for Neco.
He should push for a deadline loan because he’s clearly not highly thought of by Cooper.

Worrying for Neco. He should push for a deadline loan because he’s clearly not highly thought of by Cooper. Neco was one of only 2 signings made by forest last season which Cooper had a say in, that was because of his association of having worked with him at Liverpool. So to say Cooper does not fancy him is wrong and he forced his way back into the side after being left out and it was only injury which stopped him after getting back in the side. Where is going to go a championship side as other Prem sides shown they were not interested in him when he became available . I thought the majority of your supporters want your players to be playing at the highest level maybe im wrong thinking that ?

Seems a bit excessive. Playing at the highest level is of course what you strive for, however regular football truimphs being a bit part players. I would rather see Neco playing 90mins each week at ch'ship level than play sporadically in the PL. And that goes for all of our players.

Neco played in over 75% of our league games so i would not say he is a bit part player for us. Rumours going round that Aurier is going to go off to the Saudi League next week with a couple more of our players so see us having 4 with the advantage of one of them being able to play both sides. Also Neco is important as the make up of your 25 man squad needing to contain 8 home grown players and with losing Brennan our numbers are looking a little short.

After his performance against Belgium I was convinced that we had one of the best young full backs in the World on our hands, a two footed and attack minded player with a great touch and ability to make things happen, I hope I'm not going to be proven wrong.

Montiel's having a shocker at right back, and Aina the left back doesn't look great either. More of that please

I can't believe that I once thought it might be a good idea for Rubin Colwill to go to Forest. I hope their full backs continue to have shockers.

Montiel was hooked off after 50 odd mins. Unfortunately, Aina has looked decent since going to what I gather is his more natural right back position, and Tavarez has looked decent at left back. So I doubt Neco will jump up the pecking order for now anyway.

This is pretty worrying that he can't get into a pretty average Forest squad. Wtf's gone wrong?
Surely he's got to be looking for a way out in January?

So Neco not playing and you suggest he needs to move , as for average players in his position one is a world cup winner who i admit did not play very well last night 2 of the others are full internationals which one has been team captain. Neco will be used for a limited time upto Christmas as his time will come when Aurier and Aina will be away upto 8 weeks with the African Nations in Jan & Feb. Will you be saying the same thing if Brennan is not a regular starter at Spurs ?
