I’ll be amazed if neco goes on loan this January, right now Gomez has cemented his place at centre back, there is no cover for him right now, Milner has picked up an injury so neco is the obvious choice to cover Trent until the injured players come back, there will be opportunities for neco this season if Liverpool go deep into champs league and fa cup

If anyone missed Neco's performance against Everton in the FA Cup it is available on BBC I player. Caught the first half on iplayer. I have to say, anyone who thinks he's not ready for a cap go and watch this performance. Not only did he hold his own against Premier League opposition, he was one of the stand out performers. He was such an attacking threat, doing a spot on impression of TAA, especially with his delivery. I think he could offer us so much going forward as an overlapping runner. So confident on the ball, and brilliant defensively against a Brazilian international. The commentators singled him out for praise on several occasions too. For me he is a dead cert to be called up in March. Whether he makes a claim for the Euros depends on how much he is used by Liverpool if they run deep into the cups, whether TAA gets injured, or whether they wrap the league up early. As it stands my 4 full backs would be Davies, Gunter, Neco and Roberts for the tournament. Providing he has a good game in March. Re: the fixture announcements, I notice we have 4 games planned, and Gunter happens to be 4 games away from the long awaited century. Anyone else think these games will be used to get Gunter to 100, thereby leaving the path clear for Roberts, Neco to take over from him after this tournament?

If Giggs has any thoughts about taking him to the Euros, he needs to play him in all four friendlies to supplement his cup appearances for Liverpool to get some more game time under his belt.

Lets prayer for a Liverpool injury crisis. Haven't we been doing that for a while with Wilson, Woodburn, Ward etc? Wouldn't wish an injury on anyone. Better would be them winning the League with umpteen games to go and still heavily involved in other comps meaning they could field weakened sides in the League.

Just having a bit of a laugh.

In the squad again today.
Looks like he's established himself in there. Not bad for an 18 year old.

Hopefully if Liverpool continue their run in the league and can go far in the Champions League could be a few league starts for Neco come the back end of the season

Starts today in a team slightly stronger than the one that played against Everton, as they've had a couple of players come back from injury.

Not a Liverpool fan but want them to go all the way to final in this competition. More games for our man.

Tidy player, just a shame he won't "make it" at Liverpool, TAA isn't going anywhere soon. Loan to Leeds to get a season under his belt, then join Wolves or Everton in the future.

One eyed Liverpool fans on twitter saying ‘great cross by Neco’. It was OK at best

A decent 6/10 performance imo. He wasn't as effective going forward, but still put in one outstanding cross in the first half. He looked slightly nervy in defence when Shrewsbury had the wind behind them and could have been more positive and aggressive in defence for their second goal. Still think he's someone we should test in march, but I think the euros are too soon for him

It’s great result for Neco though. Gets one more first team game under his belt.

Obviously, taking shooting lessons from his hero Neil Taylor ;-)
... and he goes and does it again ... an "assist" for an og.

The way I look at it is, if he is good enough to regularly be on the bench for Liverpool, he’s good enough to be on the bench for us.

If Neco gets named MoM for this, its totally by default, as the entire team performance was poor and toothless.

If he had a full season under his belt, I'd feel more confident in him than Connor Roberts tbh. Next season will be huge for him and Wales if he can get a loan out.
