There's no chance he's switching. But just to say England have the most depth at RB in world football at the moment.
TAA, Walker, Trippier, Wan-Bissaka all international class right backs that would probably get into most teams in the world.

Plus Reece James, Chelsea's best prospect, and Max Aarons who looks like he could get a big money move to Spurs in the summer who I both think will be at that standard within a year or two. It's ridiculous to be honest.

I think we need to move on from Gunter now. Not just him but Vokes, HRK, King, Taylor etc as well. Good servants, good memories but we need to look forward now, not backwards. That’s ridiculous - apart from King, none of those players are over 30! Granted, they shouldn’t play if there are better options, but to dismiss their experience and value to the squad when they’re still far from past it is pointless, and I can’t see the logic behind. Football squads evolve and transition slowly, its not a case of dumping players once they’re not first choice. Going on some posts here Euro 2016 was 20 years ago and Chris Gunter is 50 years old. It’s not a matter of looking backwards, but it’s not about the future either. It’s about now, and it’s about picking suitable players to play football.

I don't care how old they are i never mentioned age. 2. There ARE better options. Wipes out the lack of logic point.
3. Correct. Right about now, they are not good enough (in my opinion) to be included.

Neco is from Cefn, I really don't see him playing for England.
Just seems like the all too familiar case of English fans/journos thinking they should have first dibs on nice things from Wales.

1. Of course it's my opinion, isn't that a given? 2. Better starting XI options when everyone's fully fit perhaps, but they are squad options, and not something to "move on" from. 3. Fair enough, but Gunter certainly makes my squad, and also perhaps Kanu or Vokes. It wouldn't take much for Taylor to push for a place too, though I guess King hasn't much of a chance if all our options are fit.

Went to school in Ruabon till he was 14 before he had to move to Liverpool where he did his gcse's so could be a Cymraeg speaker in theory.

If he gets some game time between now and the euros he has to go.
Roberts and Gunter would be nowhere near the Liverpool bench.
Robert's is rightly first choice ( not by much at the moment) and we would bexsillyvto lose Gunters experience as he has played left back and centre half.
For me Taylor should be the one to miss out if we take 4 full backs

has to be 7 defenders in the squad for me - just to accommodate all our midfield options! and Ampadu can also cover centre back as well.

Reports saying that he is set to get a new contract and to equal the pay-cheque of Starman himself - £12,000/week.
They must seriously rate the kid!

I wasn’t worried in the slightest a few days ago, but statements like that makes me start to think the worst. I think he’s been coached by England’s own Rob Jones at Liverpool as well.... with Gunter’s injury Neco will surely be called up in March now anyway if he wasn’t going to be already.

Yes it would be ironic if he turned given he is coached by that turncoat from England. I really don’t understand how any person born and brought up in Wales with Welsh parents could choose England. It only increases your market value if you play for them regularly which would seem unlikely given who he’d be competing against

Embarrassing that people are getting into a tizzy over this just because the English press want him and are ramping up the heat. It'll be a nice new "he's ours, not yours" chant the next time we play them though. Some league games under his belt and he could very easily leapfrog Roberts.

I can understand the persuasion from England but he must think he's a born and bred Welshman surely ? It'd be quite difficult for him to visit his parents if he did make a silly career decision. He should do a Dai Brooks and appear for them in a friendly or two, just to get their hopes up, before calling them shite/backwards etc. etc. and walk to the warm embrace of the Wales camp where Giggs caps him. Would be beautiful to watch someone play them like that again.

Just poor choice of words by Giggs, but the media will jump on it as an England vs Cymru thing as they have before. When you read up about him it just seems like there's no way he'd choose England. Born in Cymru, lived in Cymru, educated in Cymru, played for Cymru at youth level, both parents also Cymry. On his Twitter he follows all the FAW accounts, and from what I can gather the people he follows who are quite obviously friends from school seem to have been calling for him to be on the plane to Baku over the past few months.
Is there any chance he'd sacrifice that for an English grandparent and a massive battle for caps? I really don't think so.
*Edit - just found this from a 2019 BBC article
-The immediate priority for Williams is this week's round of Uefa Under-19 qualifying games.
Wales made a fine start by beating Poland 3-0 on Wednesday and face Russia at Cardiff's Leckwith Stadium on Saturday before meeting Kosovo in Newport on Tuesday, 19 November.
"It's a big thing playing for Wales," says Williams, who has been part of the national set-up since he was 12.
"All my family are Welsh and all my mates. Every time you put the badge on you have got to show how much it means to you.-

All that said, you can't trust a fucking word most footballers say. Jack Grealish was playing GAA & appearing for all Ireland's youth teams, Declan Rice was "Up the RA", both preaching their Irishness before turning coat. Perhaps the Paddies heads are turned by the English coin easier than our lot? Neco's connections to Wales are indisputably stronger than Grealish or Rice to Ireland, but all the badge-kissing, "I love it here" etc. is a load of shite unless they're bound by contract.
