CIRCUS - JUST DO IT :+) It's hard to over stress how much I enjoyed the Budapest State Circus today. I havent laughed so loud in years and the skills of the acrobats would have even impressed our own Master William :+) Best of all, the venue is in the only purpose built stone dome remaining in Europe and it's tiny. Only holds about 800-900. Not a safety net or harness in sight. You will seriously enjoy it. Monday at 3pm ends 5pm. tickets from £6 to £12. Failing that, there is an end of year exam for Circus graduates on Wednesday at 3pm. All tickets are only 1000ft. /£3
There is a magnificent swimming pool right in front of it and a gorgeous park as well. Be sure to take METRO LINE 1 to get there as it is a glorious blast from the past, in its own right :+) Capital Circus of Budapest Monday 10 June @ 3pm Fővárosi Nagycirkusz, Budapest.

We were there about 4 years ago, the tram stops right next to the island and you just walk down. There’s plenty of parkland to chill or have a kick about, a pool, hotels and beer. It’s a tidy place to chill out.

The outside is certainly worth a look :+)

Is anyone familiar with PECS? Any not to miss areas? I know it's a UNESCO World Heritage site and all that, but it's gonna be 29c today, so I don't want to be walking all day...

I think you need to reserve in advance to get in the Parliament building. Can be done on the day, but when I went I would have needed to come back 4 hours later.

No. But I’m on a train to there now, so if you can share any highlights that would be great. OK. With pleasure. This is a tip I got from a local. Enjoyed it thoroughly and there were about 5 people along the route - so obviously not big with tourists... I've never been to Rio, but Pecs also has its very own Jesus Statute atop a hill, with sweeping views of the city, made even more spectacular at dusk, as the sun sets. It's about a mile up hill from the NE corner of the city- called TATTYE PARK. Walk straight past the burial caves (as the girl at the info desk didnt speak a single word of English). Stock up on water from the water fountain though! Past the playground, until you see a road and a cafe. Turn right and it's a further 200m up through some lovely rose bushes. Hay Fever Alert! Going down, you may wish to take the 33 bus from near the cafe. Havas Boldogasszony-templom (on MAPS.ME). it's called "Jezusom Irgalmazz" by the locals.

URGENT: What will the Hungarian currency exchange rate be like over in budapest? At ATM machines it was 362 last few days. Be sure to use the ones attached to BANKS. There are thousands of non attached poorly rated ones! At money changers around 350

URGENT: What will the Hungarian currency exchange rate be like over in budapest? I don’t know but read on line that it’s better in Budapest than on line. But if your thinking of changing at the airport it will probably be bad. No airports are good for exchanging money. And use a bank not the street booths, some of them are tourist rip off. ATM probably your best, but depends what you bank charges on the card.

So any ideas what i should do then? Well, assuming your flying Monday there’s limited options. Your going to need some money to get from Budapest airport into town so you’ll end up using ATM or exchange at Budapest airport. Nobody knows what that will be but I can’t imagine it will be good. You could get a small amount through travelex and then use atms over here. (Or if there is a eurochange near you could try that online, you can order online and pick up straight away in some branches). Order it earlier next time!

You can rest assured that you will be able to use a credit card on all public transport as well as Taxis. Just wait until you get downtown and then change at ATM or money changers
