I think he has been great for us. Draws fouls, wins headers, ball sticks to him better than others we have. Needs to work on shooting though. The one when he blasts it at the keepers legs. What was that about. Hungary are going to hate playing against him.

This guy ihas made all the difference to our compaign. Credit to Giggs as well for identifying a need and filling it. Could have been a move that backfired but it's paid off handsomely so far. Moore to have another stormer tomorrow. Feed the Moore and he will score...

There is something really park football and basic about the way he lumbers round the pitch chasing long balls and ends up grappling with anyone near him....and yet, the ball keeps coming back to us when he gets involved. I love it.
If we are picking on current form ahead of ability then I have to say, he's the first name on my team sheet.

Moore has undoubtedly added another dimension to our play, and an automatic starter given the lack of suitable alternatives. However, he really should have scored moore goals (sorry...) against the Azeris - 10 shots, 5 on target, but several very presentable headers apart from that one-on-one. There is a danger that his lack of quality will tell in a tight match. But as long as he contributes to the build-up play he has a valuable role to play.

I said form  Bale, for me, might be our most talented player but that doesn’t make him the most important one to the team.

True, but then if his ability to make the ball stick helps build a platform that creates chances for others then he still more than fills his remit, especially when we have no-one who would be more prolific anyway. His touch was not as good as it has been against Azerbaijan, but even then it didn’t seem to detract from him because even with a poor touch the ball still somehow kept coming back to us. Not to mention how difficult he makes life for defenders whilst doing enough to win free kicks. It’s hard to beat his general utility to the team at the moment. Although perhaps if more talented teams try and figure out a way of taking him out of the game then we might see his weaknesses exposed.

There is a danger that his lack of quality will tell in a tight match. But as long as he contributes to the build-up play he has a valuable role to play. As well as he's done, that did strike me as a concern too. Against azerbaijan, we seemed set up to provide him with opportunities, rather than him selflessly setting up our better players like he did in previous games and like HRK used to do. We had bale and james getting to the byline and putting in crosses or playing him in, rather than being set up to play the likes of bale, james and wilson in. As you say, he's clearly not the best finisher especially with his feet, so hopefully we can figure out how to change that dynamic slightly.

He may not be the best striker we’ve ever had, and he’s an average Championship player at best, but by hell, he’s made a MASSIVE difference to us. People are really underestimating how important he’s been since he came in, and I firmly believe no other player could have fulfilled that role for us. Yes he has a bit of a poor touch, but he has a fantastic head, great at holding up the ball, and a complete nightmare for defenders. It’s actually a breath of fresh air having a big, physical, awkward striker!
Game changer.

I wonder if now the penny will drop with him and he can focus on improving his feet. Could have been just plodding along making a living. Anyway I lost it with Kieffer in another thread. All good though. Just nervous as hell during the game.

Contributed for both goals yesterday. The first he's got all the attention of two of their defenders as he's the expected target, has gone to the far post and it's opened up a huge space for Ramsey to go and exploit. For the second, not only has he won the free kick but he's also got the assist by winning the ball in the box again. For someone who is an average Championship striker, he's so good at his specific role on the field, and it's making a big difference for us.

I don't think you can credit him for the first goal.
Nagy was marking Ramsey, and he got sucked to the near post. Luckily he's about 5'6.

He isn’t a Messi or Ronaldo and he could be more clinical with his finishing, BUT, he’s good with his head, puts himself about and gets stuck in. He is awkward to defend against, & mark and has given us a different dimension which we haven’t had for a long time. He doesn’t half take some punishment from the opposition, Keiffer Moore take a bow son, you’re doing well.
