New name to me today in item on skysports.com about portugal training camp In todays Birmingham Mail Terry Taylor Wales youth international Taylor only joined Wolves two years ago from Aberdeen and recently travelled to Southampton with the first team squad. The 17-year-old is a midfielder who has stepped into the Conor Coady role for the U18s this season. He started his career with Scottish club Aberdeen and, although he never made a first team appearance at Pittodrie, Taylor was playing for their U20s at the age of 14. Interesting article about him from a couple of years back www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2017/07/17/wolves-youth-signing-who-is-former-aberdeen-youngster-terry-taylor/Sorry if this info is already on here somewhere, I have looked and couldn't find anything

I’m really surprised by this! He was called up by Wales U17/19s and Scotland u17/19s simultaneously and chose Scotland a while back. He was Wales youth captain so must have been highly regarded!

I know we are not world-beaters, but who at present would choose Scotland? Someone who inside feels Scottish, if he does then the best of luck to him. I know I'd never have chosen anybody but Wales even in the dark depths of our shiteness back in 1996 under Gould. ...had I been dual qualified of course... ...and any good at kicking a football!

Totally agree with you, unfortunately not all people feel the same and will chase opportunity / money / success.

Just reading on Twitter that Terry’s mother from Cardiff, Grandmother from Cardiff and Grandad from Merthyr Tydfil. That’s very strong Welsh roots. That’s legitimate in my book.

Totally agree with you, unfortunately not all people feel the same and will chase opportunity / money / success. Oh agreed! We have a phenomenal team spirit in-camp, and our kids (both Welsh & non-Welsh born) are brought up through the pathway together and treated equally, all the while being educated about Wales and its history so they know who they will be playing for. We see the results plain as day, kids like Ampadu, Woodburn & Brooks reject the call of country of their birth to stay with the country of their forefathers. Now introduce potential opportunists already mid-way through their careers into that mix, who may not have the same levels of commitment & passion, who are in it for the exposure and furthering of their own careers...as I said on another thread, I'm wary! If the FAW have done their homework however and these new lads buy in completely and become valuable assets then great, I'm on board. I certainly don't want to be the one who dictates who can and can't feel or be Welsh, something I love most about our nation is that we CAN be welcoming to all permutations and be a home for them. Vaulks fair play has already allayed my fears with his stories about growing up on the border and knowing his Welsh roots, I hope the other new ones have a similar affinity...or grow to have one like Ash. I suppose my fear is historical and stems from the mid 00's and the Ben Thatchers & Danny Collins' of this world and (dare I say) perhaps the Dummetts as well? I don't want to go back there or jeopardise what we currently have. I'm sure it will all be ok of course, just me being slightly paranoid lol!

Funnily enough I sat in a bar having a beer with Ben Thatcher's dad in Baku and you got the impression they were there more for the kudos of an international cap than the desire to play for us. As for Danny Collins, complete waste of a shirt.

I think perhaps we're being a bit cynical about the ones in their mid 20's being called up like Vaulks and Moore for a few reasons:
1. Firstly it was more than likely us that approached them rather than the other way around, so we can hardly call them mercenaries. 2. It does not always mean that they will not give 100% because they were not in it from the juniors. Look at Ash and now Vaulks totally committed and proud to wear the red. 3. Moore has scored more goals than anyone else and we are desperate for a target man/9. 4. We could unearth a late bloomer in the mould of Ricky Lambert, who is on an upward trajectory and will end up in the premier league. Just because they are in League 1 or the championship at 25/26 does not mean they will not move up in their mid to late 20's. 5. Increase pool of players - this can only be a positive and I believe we now have the biggest pool (premier/championship in particular) to choose from in our history. 6. Linked to the previous point, we can dispense with the ringfenced mentality of Coleman and have more fluidity which helps with injuries and suspensions.

Yeah, you can't argue with that. I've read many a forum where people have advocated that only the "birth rule" should apply. What happens if by pure circumstance, you were born overseas (ie. one of your parents temporarily worked abroad), your family return home at some point, you're raised in the country of your parents' birth but by a happenstance, the only country you get to play for is Turkey?! The very notion is utterly ridiculous.

I’ve always wished I had a random relative from Andorra or somewhere. I’m getting a bit tired of being overlooked squad after squad.

Has played in both of Wolves' pre-season fixtures so far, including 10 minutes against Man City as Wolves won the Asia Trophy today.

Starts tonight vs Harrogate in the EFL Trophy.
I didn't even really click that he's going to be managed by Ian Holloway until now. Good manager for him considering the level.

Ha, yeah it's pretty strong having watched another one on youtube. Thought to myself why on earth is a scotsman playing for Wales! Bet the Scottish will be pleased when they notice this.

Hell of a match to make a debut!
Played the 90’, got carded then was called upon to take a pen in the shootout (which he converted). Grimsby won 54 on pens after a 2-2 draw.
