Question, is Matt Smith doing the things that Terry Taylor is doing this season, in the same division? If not than there is absolutely no reason for Smith to get the nod over Taylor.

Yes he should be in now, but based on fitness and form there are also quite a few players who should be getting the nod over current squad members though. I doubt even one of these will be called up though.
Terry Taylor > Smith Jordan James > Levitt Oli Cooper > Colwill Hedges > Matondo Bradshaw / Liam Cullen > Harris Aaron Collins > Tyler Roberts Wes Burns > Sorba Thomas
Then there's also the likes of Nathan Broadhead, Regan Poole, Niall Cullins to consider at some stage.

From those you've listed:
Terry Taylor > Smith - Agree
Jordan James > Levitt - Disagree (not sure how you can say James, who barely plays, deserves in over Levitt based on form?)
Oli Cooper > Colwill - Wouldn't mind seeing this, although I think Colwill has more of a future for us than Cooper. Needs to keep his head down and get a run of games at club level though - I think his quality will show eventually as it did at some points last season.
Hedges > Matondo - Matondo wasn't in the last squad, but I would potentially select Hedges as a wingback option instead of Gunter
Bradshaw / Liam Cullen > Harris - Disagree, can't see the merit in selecting Bradshaw and don't think Cullen's done enough either.
Aaron Collins > Tyler Roberts - Roberts wasn't in the last squad, although I wouldn't mind getting Collins involved over Harris
Wes Burns > Sorba Thomas - Not particularly fussed about this, I don't expect Burns to have much of an impact for us based on his age, the level he's playing at, and the mixed performances for s to date (he really had a shocker out in Rotterdam). But Sorba's having a poor season too. If RND is fit I guess he can come straight back in instead of Sorba

Definitely more deserved than Smith at this point, as TT is actually getting regular games in League One

I think Smith gets favoured because he has international experience and came up through the ranks at Man City but it's not where you're from, it's where you're at. Taylor must surely be banging on the door now.

ds reporting Taylor os out for 4-5 weeks so may miss the next camp, be it seniors or U21s

Such a shame, he'd have been a definite for me. Not sure who to turn to next, perhaps MJ Williams at Bolton

There we are then, another injury already to our weakened midfield area.

Gutted for the lad, really felt he was on the verge of this being a breakout season. Just hope the injury doesn't put off a decent Championship club coming in for him this summer

I think that's him starting next season a League Two player and almost certainly out of the Wales equation until 2024 at the earliest. Gutted for him and us as it would have been interesting to see how this season and next played out for him.

Gutting end to the season for him. He was doing so well this year and now will be about coming back stronger.
According to Sofascore, his contract is up at end of June '23. Might still be one of the most attractive free agents of the summer, and Burton are currently outside relegation spots.

How’s your luck. Was a massive summer for him personally, and a potential answer to our central midfield problems. Gutting for all parties.

Incredibly disappointing to hear he's out for the season, thought he'd be making the senior squad now with Allen's retirement. The Welsh injury curse strikes again, unbelievable. Massive shame for us, but a bigger shame for him.

Gutted for him and us as it would have been interesting to see how this season and next played out for him. No chance. Bare minimum he ends up in League One again, Burton are desperate to keep him and if they stay up he's guaranteed a place in League One there I personally think top end League One sides and low end Championship sides would love to pick up a promising young player like him on a free

I hope so man, rightly or wrongly a lot of us, including myself, were pinning some hope on him working his way up the leagues.

Been linked with Plymouth & Cardiff
Seems Burton want to keep him but fans resigned to him going elsewhere

I thought Sheff Utd were after him?
Can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'd rather him go to Plymouth than Cardiff.

Yeah would rather he avoided Cardiff, although I do think he would command a regular starting spot there and would be great business for Cardiff to get a player of his calibre on a free

I thought he had another year left? That would rule a Cardiff move out unless they get the ban lifted. Plymouth would be a very good move.

Been told there is queue of other clubs as well, more important he has a good pre season after his injury, and hits the ground running

On Cardiff City's radar again, apparently.
Might be a good signing under the new regime, and would boost his Cymru chances too if he were to perform well.

Both Taylor and Levitt linked with Cardiff, despite cardiff being under a transfer embargo. Pretty sure they both have a year left on their contracts, so it's a non-story unfortunately. I did read the Plymouth have had a bid turned down for him.

Not normally for talented Welsh players moving to Cardiff, but I do think Taylor would be an upgrade on what he had, and it would sort of guarantee that Page couldn't ignore him if he were to be a regular for a Welsh club in the Championship

I mean the difference between an SPL player, and a regular starter at a Welsh club in the Championship is chalk and cheese?
