Sorry, back on Levitt......Giggs, Page or whoever are killing this kids' confidence. What exactly are they trying to achieve by playing an average young player who's not ready for even League 1 football yet?

I don't think anyone should be surprised by that half. They have a team full of top prospects breaking into teams like Barcelona, Valencia, Dortmund, Leipzig and Juve in their teens / early twenties. They're technically brilliant, but lack a killer instinct. We, on the other hand are starting technically very limited players like Gunter, lockyer and matondo. It doesn't help that a player like Levitt, whose whole game is based on being neat and tidy and technically efficient, has given the ball away almost every time he's had it!

Why the reluctance in giving Brennan a chance? I’ll bet a £5 he’s not coming on. I’ll gladly lose it though.

Mental how we spend all year hyping up our kids as if they're going to be world-beaters, then we play a country that only discovered soccerball 20 years ago and everyone is despondent.

Good run by Moore there, Sam Vokes'esque

USA are a far bigger country with a far bigger national pool. Not only that, we aren't playing with our most promising youngsters. Do you get off on being so negative all the time? Jesus wept.

Sounded like Nic Parry called Johnson 'Brenin Johnson' there!

No, I just hope some will be a bit more realistic about where we *actually* stand. I don't think our strongest XI would beat this American team off our recent performances. Come Monday though, people will revert back to talking about how Levitt is confident on the ball, Smith comfortable in possession etc., you know, the usual bollocks.

Don't you just hate negative people? You have a point though, the USA should be a bigger force in football given their resources. That's always baffled me.

The only overhyped player for me is Matondo who is clueless.

With our 11 on pitch now we should win this. 'Should' being the key word.

A Better second half from Levitt. Looking at your username, surely Vaulks is a much better player right now? P.S. Are you sure your not thinking of Morrell who replaced him like 10 mins ago?!

Vaulks is possibly better right now, but Levitt has higher potential imo- so more beneficial to field Levitt in these games as Vaulks clearly aint in Giggsy’s plans. I do feel more secure with Morrell, but felt Levitt broke up play well in the 2nd! I’ll take that, 0-0 with a clear B team against a very promising USA team. Cap cynta i Brenin hefyd. Different team Sunday. Hoping Ireland are demoralised after today too

What sports' scientist worth their salt said that James Lawrence can play 70' in a full blooded international match?
And why oh why oh why, leave Connor and Thomas out there for 90'? Poor from our backroom staff

Better second half, the composure that Rodon has permeated through the rest of the defence somewhat. The other substitutions also made a difference. The main benefit of tonight was Danny Ward brushing off some real cobwebs. Otherwise I won’t remember this game by this time next week.

Player Ratings for tonight
Ward- 6.5, didn’t have a lot to do, distribution was poor but I’m sure the 90 mins did him a world of good. Roberts- 7.5, I’ve been critical of him last couple of Welsh games but thought he looked decent tonight Lockyer- 7, dealt with everything that came at him Lawrence- 7, same as above Gunter- 7.5, Looked very comfortable tonight, da iawn on 98 Smith- 6, did nothing wrong but also nothing good Levitt- 5.5, much better second half but still struggling to impress me. Lots of learning to be done though Matondo- 7.5, yes end product isn’t the best, but always looks like he could do something Wilson- 5, poor tonight from Harry, not in the game at all Lawrence- 6, decent but apart from the 1 shot on target, didn’t do anything else Moore- 5, tried but poor tonight from the little service he had
Sheehan- 6.5, good debut and I’m sure he’ll be thrilled Johnson-6, should have scored with first touch, decent outing and looking forward to seeing more of him in the future James- 6 Rodon + Morrell - not enough time to score

Rodon will be our most valuable player in years to come, I just hope he gets games at club level.
People writing this off as a Wales B team need to realise that very soon we could have Levitt & Smith regularly starting for Wales, which would be a disaster based on their recent appearances.

Not really, Ampadu, Morrell and Allen to come back for March. Plus Smith and hopefully Levitt will get extra game time and experience + perhaps Burton. Hardly a disastrous situation.
