in all fairness Page did admit he should have been more assertive and got Johnson to camp for a medical assessment.
Cooper has still done us over (not that he has to care about Wales - he has his own job to concentrate on) by playing Johnson for 90 mins when he clearly wasn't 100% fit.

I was surprised Johnson was fit enough to play a full 90mins in the Newcastle match after showing signs of injury in his previous game, but not surprised he pulled out for us.

Sent Wales a scan post Newcastle game showing he had an injury.
Wales decided not to get him in for assessment (given that scan presumably)
Bit much to expect Cooper not to risk Brennan in Newcastle game to benefit Wales?
I'd say Page has got the PR wrong on this one. Sounds like our medical team were more professional in their approach. There's the scan, what's the point of getting him in?
Worry in this thread are some comments doubting Brennan's commitment. Wasn't his decision to drop out by the sound of it.
Hope he gets back up to speed ASAP (hopefully this weekend), helps keep em up and comes back to us in June raring to go.

I don't really see Page's reaction as a big thing personally - i think it was more of shot at cooper for future international breaks. As if this happen again the spotlight might be more on Cooper/other clubs managers and how they treat their players. There is no doubt it was a calculated risk from Cooper to play Johnson knowing there was an international break coming up. And I wouldn't be surprised to see him play some minutes on the weekend. Not doubting Johnson commitment at all - players rightly go with the medical advice.

Best ignore the comments on here about his commitment, that often happens on here when a player drops out. There’s been many accusations on here about players who’ve withdrawn from a camp but have gone on to have another 30 or 40 caps haha Strangely, when we genuinely do have players who lack commitment, like Dummett or Danny Collins, we have other people defending them .

So he can pkay 90 mins vs Newcastle just before the break and what if he say plays 90 mins vs Wolves. Players prioritising club duties is a slippery slope.

No one is more passionate about Wales than me but im on Forrst’s side with this.I’m not sure why everyone thinks he shouldn’t have played in the Newcastle game, he was obviously fit because he played 90 mins so why shouldn’t he play? The game was before the international break. They sent the FAW medical team a scan of his injury and we could have insisted on him joining up to be assessed if we wanted to but we didn’t . They’ve got the player until the start of the international break and we’ve got him during Let’s face it, if it was the other way around, we’d have played him against Latvia.

I don't think it's quite as simple as saying 'he was obviously fit because he played 90 mins'. Fact is, players play with injuries all the time. It's a constant case of assessing risks and rewards. We know the injury occurred during the game before Newcastle. I'm betting the scan would have showed something similar before that game. I think Cooper's suggested he picked something up against Newcastle - what he probably means by that is he aggravated the injury in the Newcastle game, but we'd just have to take his word on that. He was allowed to play through injury for his club but not for us.

I hope people bare this sort of thing in mind when they criticise where we are. In terms of points we are in dreamland, big uphill climb for Norway now, particularly after Scotland's result

Scotland are going to come up against a fired up Haaland and that is something I really don't envy. Two brilliant results for Scotland but they've still got 4 games against Georgia and Norway sides that will probably start waking up now

Individual more important than the team.

I mentioned previously that this situation reflects the level of respect and influence Page has within the game, just not good at all.

Whatever Page and Cooper do lets keep Johnson out of it
He has done nothing to disrespect us and those two muppets created this with him being caught in the middle. Page's amateurism and naivety and Copper's selfishness (which is to be expected).
A good suggestion would be for Page to stop making such basic errors and to talk as little as possible to the media
Our success has been built on making youngsters welcome and professionalism - it was NOT built on and amateurism and letting passion get the better of you.
Hope we all welcome Johnson back as he is our poster child now - we need him firing to get to the Euros

Is there any evidence to suggest Johnson didn't want to play for us? No.
Is there any evidence that he was injured? Yes. Forest sent a scan which was assessed by the FAW.
Did Cooper cause the injury, or make it worse, meaning he missed the Wales games? Potentially, yes.
Is Page an idiot for washing his dirty linen in public? 100% yes.
There you go, we can get back to discussing what a good player he is for us and Fforest.

Played the full 90, eff all wrong with him. Could easily have played some part in against Latvia or Croatia. Forest and Cooper have done us over here, and Page should have done more. Johnson could have put his hand up and offered himself too. Poor all round.

Can we drop the whole "it's all Pages fault" thing please because quite clearly it wasn't. Yes, he should have done more, the FAW should have done more but there was some dishonesty in all of this and it can't be allowed to happen again otherwise this becomes a Giggs situation.

Good finish, mature interview after the game too.
Don't let his maturity and talent make you forget that he's 21 though. He's one of us and deserves support in his career.
