Yeah, Kyle Walker was trying to block his right foot LOL. He also left a €90m defender for dead. Good stuff Playing alongside Son will be a huge benefit to him, as he also started out as a wide player.

Probably precautionary. Ben was stood 3-4 yards away from him for his 5-minutes long treatment - and took almost no interest at all. Walked off the field.

Think he's at the right club but tonight was a difficult watch for Spurs fans and for Brennan Johnson fans.
Thought the whole of the Spurs front line looked determined to play the extra pass instead of shooting but at same time they were fatigued and not capable of pulling it off.
Brennan looked like he was experiencing growing pains in what is still a very new system for him.

Brennan looked like he was experiencing growing pains in what is still a very new system for him. He's still young and just moved to a big club that has high expectations and a huge fanbase, plus he recently had his head bashed in. He needs time to settle, but the talent is there, so I wouldn't start to worry just yet. His trajectory has been quite interesting. From League One to Championship promotion, then a Premier League relegation battle, followed by a move to a top tier club. This is quite a rapid rise, and he's had limited time to get accustomed to yet another new scenario.

Another assist today, a brilliant first time cross to set up Richarlison. Son's leaving for the Asia cup for a few weeks, so Brennan will be one of the key men up front while he's away. Good opportunity for him to stand up and be counted

Johnson needs to up his game asap, with Werner, Richarlison, Kulusevski, Gil, and a returning Son all competing for the front 3 positions.

Being slated on their forum and across social media. Nothing new I'm afraid. His lack of work ethic is being found out now.

74 mins in and I can see why some may be moaning about his end product today but his work rate has been fine. He was actually going well til Wan-Bissaka picked up a yellow for tackle going through his standing leg.
Game still on a knife-edge and Spurs have a very inexperienced bench.

He's been given a great opportunity to establish himself in the Spurs team, but I think he might drop to the bench when everybody is available, which is not necessarily a bad thing IMO and may even do him some good.

Its bad for Wales I think
He is very lucky the manager has had so much faith in him. He seems uncertain how to impose himself. When he was top dog at Forest then he was on fire, wanting to score goals and Wales benefited
Right now he is just hanging out on the wing like a spare part. What does he have? 1 goal and 1 assist? That is a very mediocre start. Not great for Wales - would definitely have Dan James ahead of him

1 goal and 4 assists from my quick Google. He's had some really good moments but the challenge is a step up from what he met reasonably well last season for sure.
Think Spurs have 7 players to cover 8 forward positions at the moment so he'll get chances to improve.

I think when everyone's fit and available he'll still get plenty of game time but he might find himself sharing minutes with Richarlison
I think their best front 4 is;
Kulusevski-Maddison-Brennan Son
But they might start using Son on the left and Richarlison down the middle more when they're all back. Brennan can also play on the right which is to his advantage as well, because Kulusevski gets moved into the 10 a lot too

Tends to look disinterested and his end product is shocking. Definitely needs to up his game otherwise can’t see Spurs fans putting up with him

Tends to look disinterested and his end product is shocking. Definitely needs to up his game otherwise can’t see Spurs fans putting up with him That's why I said it wouldn't be a bad thing if he started on the bench. It would be a bit less pressure, while giving him more time to settle at Spurs. He's got the required skillset to succeed, it's just a case of him building confidence and being in the right frame of mind on the pitch. The injuries at the club haven't helped though, nor has Son's absence, as there was nobody else who could start in front of him.

If everyone fit does Page start with Brennan? He scored a tap in yesterday but like I said before, he’s not easy on the eye with Spurs.

Now is not the time to experiment, but at some point I would like to see James on the right, Johnson on the left, with Brooks at No.10. I'm sure there are goals to be had if we play with inverted wingers. (James has been banging them in at Leeds).
