It's been quite nice to see my e-ticket for the game in Rome even though I'm fairly certain I won't be going. Unless it shifts to the green list before and we get some better flights laid on

Ye weve got our tickets for Rome. Got them for Baku as well but our flights out were cancelled about 2 weeks ago. Wasnt that keen to go there, decision made for us really.
So intend going to Rome by train now,so wont have to book for a while and could even leave till the last couple of days. Getting second jab thursday, main worry now is insurance but sure that can be sorted.
Still not a certainty and something could go wrong off course in this situation. But looking quite good now, buzzing.

Didn't think we'd get any for Rome to be honest, with hindsight I'd have gone to that and given up on Baku. Infection rates right now are tumbling across a lot of host countries, the tournament has probably 2 / 3 months too early.

Hi, first time poster (please don't be alarmed) but long-time reader of the forum.
There are a few of us going to Baku from Dubai/UAE. I and some others had kept our original tickets - and its straightforward to get a direct flight from here, although many of us have been hesitant to go ahead with it until now.
The UAE are uplifting travel corridors to much of Europe (Green lists for Greece, Germany, Spain etc.) and we have had a very good vaccine roll-out programme (1.2+ vaccines per 100 people) despite us being on the UK Red List!
There are a few here still quite keen to go over, but need tickets the visa entry purposes into Azerbaijan.
If there are people who have tickets for Baku and cannot travel, there are many here in the Dubai Welsh Supporters Club/Social community who would snap at the chance to support us in Baku, no need to let them go to waste.
Please get in touch!

Hi all,
Anyone on here with group tickets and tempted to go to Baku?
My brother and I have booked direct flights and are organising the PCR tests for departure. It's a gamble, i know, and i'm struggling with the moral aspect of travelling during a pandemic. The flights and accommodation are refundable (partial and full, respectively, up to a point in time).
What are people's thoughts?
We've considered the chance of failing our PCR test on our way back and having to shell out for a hotel. We've also considered that we won't be able to go to the Italy game, now that they've dropped the 5-day quarantine for those with a negative PCR cert, because of the UK 10-day quarantine.

It's a decision only you can make. If you go to Azerbaijan you've got no chance of going to Italy even if UK/Welsh Gov reduce the quarantine requirements before June. Italy won't let you enter if you've been to Azerbaijan within 14 days of then trying to enter Italy. My own view is I wouldn't be travelling anywhere that the Government (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) advises against all but essential travel. As much as I'd love to watch the football it's not essential. Italy is more likely I'd think to have that restriction lifted before the game and at which point I'd try and go.

Why are they stupid? Good on them, FAW gov, Welsh gov and UK gov have said not to travel. There's gonna be next to no one there. If somebody gets into trouble, catches covid or whatever then they are going to be very lonely indeed.

Is the transfer option in the app only to the guest named when making the purchase? Be good if it was anybody's email, could sell at face value to someone going without tickets.

The thing that you haven't mentioned is insurance (and I'm not talking about covid travel insurance). As the FCO have advised 'all but essential travel' and you don't follow that advice it will invalidate most 'normal' travel insurances. I usually enjoy an adventure, but wouldn't be travelling anywhere without travel insurance in place. The other one is health. Not sure if you have had any vaccinations yet, but if you aren't fully vaccinated I'm not sure that I would be risking my health by catching it out there or having to quarantine in a hotel if you do catch it.

Certainly not the best place I’ve ever been to. Could turn into a very lonely trip. maybe a handful of Welsh amid thousands of local Turks. Definitely not the usual Welsh away experience

Has Anybody chanced booking any flights/trains to Rome for the game? Does anybody have any inclination that it will move to the green list?
Also a question for the Covid travel buffs - if you are in say Italy (or any further game, say Amsterdam for the R16, etc) but your stay is less than 48 hours, how would you go about getting a PCR test before your return to Wales with such a quick turn around? Do you take it over with you or?

Been looking at the covid figures for Italy on a regular basis. The situation is improving on a daily basis. After a stutterry start they are now progressing well with vaccination, and possitive covid cases appear to be in decline, along with hospitalization numbers. My gut feeling tells me though the next travel review is just a tad too soon, and they will remain on the amber list. Not sure either about arranging a PCR over there.

Some countries allow you to travel without retesting if your stay is less than 48 hours.

The current 7 day infection rate in Azerbaijan is half the rate of Portugal at 16.5 / 100k. Must be an outside chance it goes green next week or am I being too optimistic. Romania's down to 12.4 so what chance we'll be relatively free to go there for a last 16 game assuming that's where we end up.

We are winning this group and going to Wembley. Just put Saturday 26 June in your diary and book a nice curry house for the after party. I am counting on @garywilliams inside info for curry houses!

Hypothetical question: How much will Wembley be allowed to hold if we get there (and, of such limited attendance, how much Welsh support would there be?)

Hypothetical question: How much will Wembley be allowed to hold if we get there (and, of such limited attendance, how much Welsh support would there be?) It's after the magical 21st June, so weren't they on about 45k being allowed there? I think England and Scotland had 3k each out of the teams allocations for the group stage for 22.5k, so about 6k we should see.
