We changed flights in Istanbul when we went to Bosnia a few years ago. If you plan on not leaving the airport then you will not need a visa Yeah we went to the recent game with Pegasus and Buta and can confirm no Turkish visa required if you stay in the airport Same combinations as you, just have checked luggage which adds the complication, it’s never easy with Wales haha

Got flights to Baku sorted, what's the easiest (cheapest) way to get to Rome ? Cheapest are Ryan Air or Wizz air from KUTAISI to BOLOGNA on the 20th - both still £24 + £8 for luggage.
Wizz departs at 7am and Ryan Air arrives at 11pm - so neither particularly convenient...
Overnight train to Tbilisi is £15 sleeper - but you can also fly from Baku to TBS for around £40 / 3 daily with Buta Air. Bus from TBS airport to Kutaisi airport around £10 3-hours.
More enjoyable (and my choice) Buta Air to TBS on morning of 18th - £40 - arrive TBS 1040
Overnight Train from TBS to YEREVAN at 2020 - wake up to the magnificent site of Mt Ararat at 0630 - £15 in a 4-bed cabin or £22 in a 2-bed. If you don't fancy the train, Tbilisi to Yerevan is a little over 5 hours in a shared marshrutka / £10.
Fly YEREVAN to ROME on 20th for £62+£8 for luggage on Ryan Air - Dept at 1pm and arrive Rome 3pm - day before match - MUCH BETTER TIMES ;-)
if money is less of a concern Fly with Buta Air afternoon of 19 to TBS - two hour stop-over and then connect onto the Georgian Airline flight to Bologna at 18:30 arriving Bologna at 20:30 - £142 + £40 for Buta Air ...

All in all it’s cost us £1200 flying from Cardiff to Dublin then to Istanbul and Baku. 6 days in Baku then two nights in Istanbul before flying to Rome for Two nights then home to Cardiff via Dublin .This includes 7 flights and ten days decent hotels Istanbul looks very nice down by the waterfront area packed with bars and restaurants etc. Having done Baku the last trip I have to say it’s not as appealing as it should be but needs must.

Word of warning, Wizz air don’t always sell single tickets, you often have to buy a return. Sky scanner doesn’t tell you this.

Just done a bit of research for the R16 assuming we're there as a third placed team. Well its 30% in Bilbao, 20% Glasgow or 50% Bucharest. That's not too bad. Plenty of flights to Bucharest these days they'll be cheap as chips. I was half right. Wizzair alone have a total of 15 flights from Gatwick, Luton and Southend. But they're already pretty much at £ 100 each way bar a few. Christ knows where they'll be with 2 days notice.

Any recommendations of areas to stay in Rome? Somewhere central ideally with good links to the stadium.

Why do you think that there is more chance of being in Bilbao than in Glasgow?

Why do you think that there is more chance of being in Bilbao than in Glasgow? Do you recall in 2016 that if we finished 3rd we had a 90% chance of a last-16 game in Lille. I have no idea how this 90% figure came about, would it not be a 90% chance of 1 of the venues this time around?

Why do you think that there is more chance of being in Bilbao than in Glasgow? As per the table you've referred to. There are 15 play off possibilities 10 of which include a play off possibility from group A. 3 of those possibilities are against the winners of group B in Bilbao. 2 are against the winners of group E in Glasgow. The remaining 5 are against the winners of group E in Bucharest. Probably Belgium, Germany / France or Spain respectfully. After the play offs you'll probably have pretty good punt on which teams will be the worst 3rd place teams. Cant see the team in with France Germany or Portugal getting any points and a significant goal deficit.

I reckon I'll be travelling with Wonky Sheep next year. Noticed they have a trip lined up for the Italy game and wondering what the chances of a Baku trip are. Reckon the double-fixture over there might pose logistical issues for them. Does anyone know whether they fielded a trip for the away Euro 2020 fixture to Baku last month? Only asking because I've never travelled with them before.

Down to GD I guess?

You pay well over the odds for them but I suppose its pretty much hassle free. (That Italy trip they're looks a bit steep to. Me mind!) People I spoke to who used them for Baku and China were full of praise for them.

Yeah, they do look very expensive! 😮 But it looks as though I'll be going solo next year, so I reckon Wonky is probably the most suitable, especially if I end up going to Baku! I guess when you factor in flights, breakfast and spending money perhaps it isn't as bad as all that (at least I hope!). I guess it's also a great opportunity to meet other fans and have a laugh! Looks like fun. I'm going to try and get some tickets first though! 😀

Pretty sure we are going to win the group and go back to London ... but would certainly love beating Germany/France in Bucharest and then going to St Petersburg ;-)
