Yes, they ran a few different trips to Baku- from Manchester, London and chartered a flight from Cardiff. You pay well over the odds for them but I suppose its pretty much hassle free. (That Italy trip they're looks a bit steep to. Me mind!) People I spoke to who used them for Baku and China were full of praise for them. Yeah, they do look very expensive! 😮 But it looks as though I'll be going solo next year, so I reckon Wonky is probably the most suitable, especially if I end up going to Baku! I guess when you factor in flights, breakfast and spending money perhaps it isn't as bad as all that (at least I hope!). I guess it's also a great opportunity to meet other fans and have a laugh! Looks like fun. I'm going to try and get some tickets first though! 😀 I started using them as a solo for Albania away and have stuck with them as they are very good. As for cost you do not get budget hotels so that helps me a bit, as I get oldet I am not into hostels And yes there are a good group of welcoming fans

Any recommendations of areas to stay in Rome? Somewhere central ideally with good links to the stadium. Best area to stay in Rome is around Piazza Navona .Lots of bars, restaurants can walk to all sights (if time allows)

What about Baku? Any cheap flights? Best option I saw was fly indirect to Tiblisi then overnight train to Baku.

I HOPE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY IDIOT ON HERE ...
I have three flights totalling €55 which are practically useless, as they leave Italy to Bucharest / Bordeaux and Glasgow on 23 and 24 June ... Needed to spend an additional €105 just now to buy another three tickets on 25 June from MILAN MALPENSA TO EDINBURGH / BUCHAREST / MADRID - never been to Madrid before ... so a wee silver lining ...
IF WE END THIRD, WE WILL ONLY KNOW WHERE WE WILL PLAY ON COMPLETION OF THE LAST GAME - VERY LATE ON 24 JUNE ...
BE WARNED

If anyone can leave AS EARLY AS SUNDAY 7 JUNE - there is a fantastic RYAN AIR connecting flight for £99 Sun 07/06/20 12:05 Bristol BRS 21:45 Tbilisi TBS its only 6:40 h travel time in total! With a 70 minutes stop/over in Cologne - which is a tiny airport - so no hassle at all doing the change
The EAST MIDS flight late on Wednesday with a 60 minute connection at RIGA is now up to €180 - it is with two different airlines, so possibly the gates might be a hassle ... Ryan Air and Baltic from Riga.
East Mids Dept Wednesday 1725 and arrive TBS 0300 early on Thursday morning
SIMILAR COMBINATION FROM LEEDS BRADFORD ON WEDNESDAY FOR €190 Dept Wednesday at 16:55 on RA to RIGa connect two hours in RIGA onto TBS for 0300 Thursday morning
LONDON OPTION FOR THURSDAY DEPT for €170
Dept Stansted with RA at 16:55 to RIGA then connect onto the same Baltic Air flight as above arrive TB FRIDAY morning 0300.
The connection time here is a much better 95 minutes/
You should be able to get a marshrutke all the way to Baku - there will be at least one/hourly to the border from Station Square. Probably first departure will be 0700. You might need to cross the border and connect onto an Azeri bus there. Really no hassle at all!

wonky sheep is no good for solo travellers , as single suppliments up it to a ludicrous level , I know booking yourself you pay abit for single supplement but to them its losing half their income as so I understand why but surley no solo people use wonky sheep as its just to much . how safe is the over night train from tbilsi ? , conflicting reports saying cant pre book this train so have to buy from station ? a overnight train in a cabin with strangers will be nerve-wracking anytime , you can get robbed on plenty of European overnight trains

Why? The prices are eye watering agreed but as with everything in a market economy, prices are determined by supply and demand. If Welsh fans weren't willing to pay that much then Wonky Sheep would lower them but as clearly fans are happy to pay for the convenience to have everything booked for them. It's not for me but it's not like they're tricking people into paying that much.

With club and country, we've always done our own thing travel wise but I don't understand the abuse Wonky Sheep get. They provide a service and have to make a living too.
As I went to Azerbaijan in November, I've decided to only go to Rome so far. We're looking at flights to Turin and a transfer from there. A high speed train is one idea.

Never been on an organised trip with Wonky Sheep but used their coach service from Bratislava to Trnava and they were excellent. Like yourself decided not to go to Baku having been there last month. For the Italy match we are flying from Manchester to Milan Malpensa and back from Pisa and using trains to and from Rome. The basic cost with Ryanair when I booked on Sunday was £125 but by yesterday was over £200. On Sunday the Ryanair return from Manchester to Rome (Saturday to Monday) was well over £300 and rising and Jet2 was over £400.

Bristol to Rome direct is now £740
Gone up from £660 so somebody is paying these inflated prices!

Anyone had any dealings with Kiwi.com? they are linked from searches on the Skyscanner site, there seems to be some negative reviews of them when you do a search??

If you have a connecting flight you should stay air-side when you enter the building and look for signage (sometimes markings on the floor) directing you to the gate for the next leg of your flight. Ask for the details from info desk of your airline carrier when you first arrive at departure airport (UK). As you say, if you exit to land-side, you will have to go through the security process again.

I’ve never needed to go through full security again for connecting flights. Some airports have a checkpoint but you normally follow the signs for connections and head to the gate when announced.

Anyone had any dealings with Kiwi.com? they are linked from searches on the Skyscanner site, there seems to be some negative reviews of them when you do a search?? The internet is full of horror stories about Kiwi.com - but I would suggest that not many happy customers bother writting positive reviews, whereas almost all unhappy ones do... I have used them every time I had a connecting flight (between 45 minutes and up to 24 hours) - I can only say good things about them. If one of the legs gets cancelled, they will refund both legs for you or accommodate you with an alternative connecting airport. My brother, his wife and two kids missed their connecting flight and were given a taxi to another airport, overnight hotel and an alternative flight home the following day - he needed to pay himself, but was refunded 100% of his expenses. I think it was something like £1300 ... If you Google "KIWI DISCOUNT VOUCHER CODE" there are always €10 or even €15 OFF codes to enter when you check-out. This almost fully off-sets the €20 extra you pay for using their web site and their "Connection Guarantee"

thanks for this, much appreciated , what is a marshrutke? A Marshrutka is a shared-taxi. Often a 5-seater Merc (for long distances), but sometimes a 18-seater minibus. They have very flexible departure times, but once full, they will leave and travel directly to the destination. You just pay for your one seat. If you speak a little Russian, they will gladly let you off anywhere along their route once arriving into Baku

I’ve booked flights with airBaltic from Gatwick to Baku via Riga for £225, then to Rome via Minsk on Belavia for £200, then back to Gatwick on EasyJet for £71 (prices per person). We’re taking the kids so will make it a proper holiday and be away for just over two weeks. Anyone else doing anything similar?
