Similar fare our of Birmingham. NOTE that it is possible to use the 10 June great out leg and just add the cheapest £70 return leg to it and make this A VERY DECENT ONE WAY PRICE OF £203!!!

I’ve booked returns Stansted - Istanbul - Baku with a two hour wait at Istanbul airport on the way over and a one night stay on the way home, with Pegasus / Azerbaijan Airlines. cost me £380 which I’m fairly happy with.
Haven’t bothered booking digs in Baku yet but having a look on round, predictably the nice places by the coast etc are whacking their prices up. Anyone else booked digs there yet?

They're good prices for sure. Where are you finding these?
Note that they penalise you if you opt for SINGLE.
You may as well get a cheap return (£132 + £72) and either not use the return portion or disembark in Frankfurt and there are plenty of direct flights from Frankfurt to Rome for around €80.
You might want to try a MULTI-STOP: BHX-BAKU and BAKU-FRA-BHX (breaking the journey in FRA for a few days with a side trip to Rome - circa £460

Although Lufthansa is one of the few airlines that has sued passengers that have intentionally missed the last leg of a flight (hidden city flights) in order to get cheaper flights.

With regards to Self Transfer. I assume you stayed in connections and checked in on route via a connection desk. i can remember doing this to Tbilisi. But as this could be a week for many and you got more than hand luggage you would have to go through passport control to get your case. Then i assume you'd need visa to go via passport control. i think this is why it states Maybe on self transfer info. Yeah that’s what I was thinking as we’ve got to pick up checked luggage, I think we are technically leaving the airport and entering again🙄 just hoping someone else would have been in this situation in the recent trip and would know, I knew if it wasn’t for the checked luggage, I wouldn’t need one, not much info on the internet about this situation either, thanks for the replies though We are in the same boat regarding self transfer in Istanbul (although I think we will not need to check in luggage, it is the summer after all). We are as you say leaving re-entering the airport (The advice on our booking was not clear whether a full visa or transfer visa was required. I have asked the question to the booking co. but no answer. I may be better asking the Turkish Visa portal.

I've been on hols to Turkey twice, and as soon as you're off the plane and in the airport (in Dalaman), there were 20 or so Visa desks, you couldn't get to baggage reclaim until you'd got your visa. Plenty of dodgy Visa sites going, the official one is www.evisa.gov.tr/en/. They last for 6 months I think and are for multiple entries, the advice is to have the start date be a day or 2 before you are due to travel to Turkey, just in case for some reason your flight gets moved.

From listening to Jonathan Ford this morning, it looks like he needs to take a long hard look at this thread! €10m just for qualifying and @faw will struggle to break even ...

I had a look at the Azerbaijan Visa thing - evisa.gov.az/en/apply-step2 Seems to be US$23. Is there an option for Double/Multiple entry? If we end up second, we need to go Back to Baku ;-(

Got flights Dublin to Rome for 19/6 to 22/6 for 149 euro last week. Still not bad now at 185 for North Walians with the 35 quid foot passenger single ferry from Holyhead.

But that's the advice we had for the qualifier!! On the UEFA App it says there will be "a simplified version procedure will be in place for EURO 2020". Updates on this to come!! To be honest cant see it being much easier than it was.....maybe free this time?

Yeah it’s the baggage that’s the problem, so if you don’t have hold luggage you should be fine, as it’s going to be a long month, we want to take bigger bags 😅

Men over the age of 15/16 wearing shorts would be frowned upon. You will get away with it around your hotel and probably into the stadium - otherwise, expect to be challenged, maybe even insulted.
Don't let the modern architecture deceive you...

Considering almost all of us and the Swiss will be in shorts, I'm sure they'll get used to it pretty quickly.

Is it a good idea to have a stop off in Turkey when we have to play them, and could have knocked them out?

Is it a good idea to have a stop off in Turkey when we have to play them, and could have knocked them out? ... personally ... I'd say its a bad idea at the best of times ;-) On the other hand, A GREAT IDEA, could be catching the overnight train from Tbilisi to Yerevan and then flying direct to Rome on the Ryan Air Saturday flight ;-) Its still only €50... Dept Yerevan 1pm and arrive Rome 3pm ... so none of these crazy 6am departures from Kutaisi ...
