Guess time will tell. we will find out pretty soon with a new manager this is his chance to show what he can do if he doesnt kick on then its going to pass him by and he will be a bit part player as Bellamy will look at other options hope he can fulfill that potential and be a starter for club and country

first win and it sounds like Colwill played full game and had chances- ''Rubin Colwill was denied three times by Millwall goalkeeper Lukas Jensen – most spectacularly from the Wales international's delicate free-kick – while Yakou Meite could not convert Ollie Tanner's cross with the goal at his mercy.'' www.bbc.com/sport/football/live/cd0zvv7719et#Report

Another very good game v Bristol City today. Usual talent in evidence but was struck by his aggression and his off the ball work. Great assist for the goal and could have had one or two himself. Best player on the pitch in a creative sense.

Best player on the pitch in a creative sense. He was absolutely brilliant. I’m not sure he’s kicked on from some of the promising displays he showed in the second half of last season yet. His all-round play is good and defensive / pressing contributions much improved, but as a 10 he needs to contribute more in the final third.

Having seen him play for Cardiff a few times recently, I'd say that he's their most talented player and would probably look better still were he playing with better players. It's great for the under 21s that he's available for their crucial game against Czechia, but he's probably more deseving of a place with the senior squad than some chosen ahead of him.

I know Bulut was a bit of a disaster after his first 12-16 games, but Colwill has grown up so much since he came in.
Today he showed how far he has come since he started with good defensive effort, creativity and goal-scoring.
He came off at 66 minutes and I would still like him to grow into being that good over minimum of 75 mins on regular basis. Hopefully that will come too.

He failed to properly appreciate Colwill's talent and massively hampered his development by refusing to play him. The catetaker manager clearly has a very different attitude and has decided to base his team around Rubin. His faith has been amply rewarded. Colwill was sensational today. I am a fan of neither Cardiff or Swansea, but it seems utterly absurd to me that both Cullen and Cooper are currently ahead of Colwill in the Wales pecking order. He is vastly more gifted than either of them.

From what I've seen of him this season, think he's very worthy of a place. Becoming the stand out player in a Championship team, Bags of talent, Goal scorer and creator. Sometimes I think the bar gets set higher for players of his ilk

I’m a big fan of his and it’s great to see goal contributions coming through in these past couple of games. I see lots of people saying he’s far more talented than the likes of Cooper, but that misses the point. I think Bellamy and everyone else would agree with that, but Bellamy clearly doesn’t think he would do as effective a job in his system (and he did take a close look at him in the camp before last let’s not forget).
This is the drawback with Bellamy’s approach. For his system to work, he needs functional players who can perform specific roles within the system effectively. He tolerates mavericks less than most managers, and that’s precisely what Colwill is. So as talented and exciting as Colwill is, Bellamy sees more value with the likes of Cooper in his system where he knows he can rely on them to bring the energy and intensity needed for his approach to work.

I don't know what Bellamy's attitude is towards Colwill, I'd be a amazed if an obviously talented lad like him is not used just because of a coaches unshakeable thought process, although it's been a problem for many players throughout the history of the game. However it's up to the manager to get the best out of his players , it's part of his job to find the key, let's hope Colwill realises his potential along with his younger brother who is also a decent prospect apparently.

He clearly looked a cut above all if not almost all the players on the pitch that Wales U21 have played against this year - yes he is so good he may have been able to make a difference against the Czechs, who were clearly vulnerable in defence
So many have commented how much harder he is working now - that seems to reflect a change in attitude
He seems to be getting more productive in a poor Cardiff team
His quality moments speak for themselves but I loved the way he is increasingly using his physicality - look at the way he cleverly used his body to shrug off a would be defender off him for one of his assists
Maybe you don't start him yet until he reaches higher levels of consistency but for goodness sakes - we need creativity or a goal desperately - who you gonna call from the bench - him or Cullen or Harris? It really should not even merit a thought

And then proceeded to drop him from the most recent squad. We also know how much value he places on workrate, energy, intensity, and off-the-ball work and how he’s very stats-driven - he tracks everyone’s high intensity sprints and talks about it in almost every interview and press conference. So I don’t think it’s difficult to know what his attitude on Colwill is and why he’s further down the pecking order than less talented individuals. He may be one of the players to lose out under Bellamy’s style of management and the qualities he places most value in, which is a real shame!

Colwill was outstanding yesterday. I know it was only Plymouth, but his contribution in attack was first class. His link up play with Tanner (a fast winger) is what we are missing up front for Wales.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned but it's a real shame the way football is going. Players like Colwill who are obviously skilful and talented and full of flair are sidelined or forced to compromise their game because they don't conform to the rigid style that's in vogue these days. Call me a hopeless romantic but I miss the days where skilful forwards were allowed to express themselves rather than constantly have to worry about tracking back and/or closing down the opposition keeper. The game is far too methodical and inflexible these days, and to be honest watching teams at the top level is just plain boring compared to what it was 10-15+ years ago. I wonder what would have happened to players like Ronaldinho had he come through now?
Apologies for the rant. It'll just be a real shame if Colwill doesn't get much of a sniff at international level because of his lack of off-the-ball sprinting and intensity, when he's one of the most creative and exciting players we have available.

Look at the Montenegro game, we ended up playing Liam Cullen, who I've always seen as a more traditional penalty box striker, in that withdrawn number 10 style role. He did ok, but he lacks the creativity that Colwill would bring to that role and the chances he creates, especially partnered with someone like Harris who does the running of 2 players

What should not be overlooked regarding players who have a bit of 'attitude', is that we as Wales are limited in player depth, so we simply cannot afford to leave out a player that has such potential as Colwill, and if there is anyone who should know about 'attitudes' it's Bellamy.

What I liked more than that was he was getting involved in everything and using his physique to look after smaller players. He seemed to be comfortable with the pressure and really enjoying playing. There will be tougher tests than Plymouth but he put in a really strong all round performance in and showing more than just glimpses of potential now. His ability may have been over egged a bit last season but that's because he was one of very few flair players under Bulut

I don't think there's ever been a suggestion that Colwill has an attitude problem? I think that the word attitude has been misused here. It's a seemingly lazy attitude, as opposed to a bad attitude, that Rubin has been suggested to suffer from by various managers.

I tend to agree. Overall I find football just as enjoyable now as I did when I was a kid 20 years ago and love watching the type of football the likes of Man City play (not a popular thing to say, I know). But yes, individuality does suffer which is the main drawback. Equally, we can hardly spend years complaining about Page's lack of tactical nous and reliance on individuals, and then also complain when we adopt a detailed tactical, methodical approach that doesn't make room for individuality. I'm sure there's a bit of a balancing act to be struck and if Colwill keeps this up, hopefully Bellamy will be able to make a compromise and find some sort of role for him.

I'm not sure if Bellamy would agree with you on Cullen - he plays that role for Swansea (and not very well), but was always more of a 10 / wide forward when coming through the ranks and he is technically very good to be fair. But yeah, I agree that he's not half the player that Colwill is. I suspect that it's a stats-driven decision

Worth noting that in his post-match comments, Riza praised Colwill's workrate and intensity. I hope Bellamy notices too. Personally I feel like there's been a massive improvement in his workrate and pressing for around a year now. He was doing it a lot last season too. But that's just from watching him, I don't have access to the data, and from what Bellamy says it sounds like the statistics tell a different story - or at least suggests he doesn't do it to the level needed to be in Bellamy's plans. It may also be to do with defensive discipline and intelligence as much as workrate. He does still have the habit of letting runners go, seemingly completely oblivious to the issues that leaving a man completely free close to his goal can have. This is what Matty Jones was banging on about at the beginning of the last camp - that Colwill tends to switch off off the ball and he needs someone on the sideline giving him detailed instructions on what to do off the ball, and that can be done at u21 level but is much more difficult in the chaos of senior football and so that it has to come from within him.
