He's shorter than Harris but much better at using his size and therefore far more potential if we're looking at possible future strikers.
It's encouraging to see such a good performance in first game back, and it is only his first start back so lets not go OTT.

Thought he did well today
Interesting to see Morgan Wigley was on the bench, only 18 and wouldn't have been my first guess for which youngster would be involved today

His pace caused Leeds problems and kept them busy. I expect him to play regularly now until the end of the season

Looked really good. Was very impressed. Harris very much did what we knew he does well and didn't do what we know he doesn't do well.

Harris did well against Leeds tbh, just not a natural goal scorer it seems.

Harris did well against Leeds tbh, just not a natural goal scorer it seems. He did a great job protecting Tom Sang on the right, once Harris was moved up top Leeds really took control down that side

Harris did do well on the right and joining in as second forward at the right time. He was at heart of first goal and, if memory serves, in the box for tap in if keeper had saved Ojo's shot. It was a really impressive display from him....until he was asked to play a striker role and hold the ball up, when already having put in so much effort, which was when Leeds started to get back on top.
To come back to Davies, part of the things I like about him (his work rate, his physicality, his desire to play) is also reason why he needs a good manager above him. Bellamy did interview with Scott Johnson (roathboy on twitter) where he said Davies played injured under Bellamy in Cardiff youth (because it wasn't immediately known) and Morison's stupid decision to bring Davies on against Derby in last game of 21-22 season robbed Isaak of pre-season.

Back in the starting lineup tonight - a little out of nowhere
Colwill & Harris on the bench

Wish he had moved to Burnley last summer to be honest. He'd be further away from first team but better coaching which is critical at young age.
I don't want him to go along the Mark Harris path of having decent level of skill, working hard but not really adding goals or assists - not regularly enough - so cheap contract for hometown club in Championship is the ceiling.
Up to him now over next couple of months to keep working hard, keep working smart and take opportunities where they arise. Learning from Callum Robinson is no bad thing, I guess.

With the return of Wickham (and Robinson eventually) and Kaba scoring off the bench, you'd have to think there's a good chance Isaak won't get another sniff this season

He was isolated and given poor supply. Unlucky to go off given that Ojo stayed on the pitch and most of the team had a poor first half.

Always the way here at Cardiff. Our home grown young players are made scapegoats and bombed out after one bad half, while the older journeymen who play no better or often worse are let off the hook and keep getting chance after chance. I just don't understand it. No patience, and no faith put in the youth. Compare with Bristol City, whose academy is of a similar quality to Cardiff's (if not worse judging by results at youth level over the past decade), but they give consistent chances to their youth players and produce a steady stream of Championship quality players as a result.

A number of factors need to be right for club to successfully bring through youth players and it just hasn't been the case at City over past 13/14 years or so.
Managers not interested in developing youth, style of play which doesn't let them show off their skills, relegation threatened seasons...
But which players have come close? We're looking at likes of Ben Nugent, Rhys Healey, Mark Harris before current crop started to come through with Neil Harris. There is still hope things have turned corner because there is now a need for it.
Lots and lots has gone wrong. It's not just one thing.

I’m a big fan of his, and like you say they were all poor in the first half, but I wasn’t surprised he went. He was completely ineffective and looked out of his depth. A bad day at the office.

Dinosaur managers, poor styles of football etc But you rarely see them doing anything of note. I find myself willing Isaak/Rubin on, but they don’t really show enough. Rubin will show a rare glimpse of quality, maybe the only bit of quality in a game, but it’s all too fleeting.

Colwill won us games last season, yet he's been given no real opportunities this season. When has he ever started a run of games? The continually ineffective Ojo and Etete, on the other hand, keep getting chances
The coaching at Cardiff is massively off. When's the last time we genuinely improved a player? Cheap option after cheap option has left us in a huge mess

As you say, they’ve chosen to select a load of ineffective journeymen!

Shame he hasn't managed to force his way into the starting lineup at Cardiff but last season's injury really stalled his development. Playing regularly in League One will be better than sitting on the bench at Cardiff though. Really hope he does well. Like Colwill he needs to nail down a proper, definite position otherwise he risks going down the Mark Harris route.

Off on loan to KV Kortrijk of the Belgian Pro League A good move. Another Vincent Tan team and actually quite decent. Kortrijk is actually a lovely city, just across the boder from Lille. Hoping this will turn out to be his FC Twente move that Smith had!
Good luck, Issaak

I think Tan sold his shares last month. Not 100% sure though. Anyway hopefully Davies can get his career back on track this season

Kortrijk are struggling after 4 games - zero points. Isaak played 45' last week and is set to start tonight v Standard Liege.
EDIT Almost won a pen after 3' - beautiful jig thro the Standard defence, but the free kick brought nothing. The man is on fire - just socred after 24' - again dancing thro the Standard defence ;-) Would love to see him get at least 45' against Gibralter. The lad is a wizard with the ball at his feet. He cut through the Standard back line three times in the first half with a magical jig - just beautiful to watch.
Subbed after 75' - a joy to watch!
