I hope he's watching Wissa this season as how to compete as a 5ft 9 striker.

Isaak scores again v Club Bruges, to take the lead - brilliant goal across the goalie, from a sharp angle, after a great counter attack.. Got interviewed at half time and was asked: "are you the fastest man in this team"? Answer: "Yes. I think so" ...
He also scored before the International break v Cercle Bruges ;-)

Scores again tonight, his side lost to Westerlo 1-2. Match report says that he scored with his head (!) into the top corner ;=) Apearantly, Kortrijk were the better team throughout, and our boy is still getting a wholotta love online!
Are the Bluebirds considering bringing him back in Jan?

Isaak leading the attack again this evening. Really feeding on scraps in the first half - but looking the part and I would love to see him in a better / more attack-minded team.

Isaak was leading the attack against Standard Liege away today and Kortrijk got a massive 0-1 win. Didn't see the game, tho

Massive 6-pointer this afternoon v Leuven, just 4 points ahead of them. Isaak starting again, after the great show last week beating Standard.

Isaak having a cracker of a game. Just socred from 20 yards, hit the crossbar with a tidy volley and was unlucky to shoot wide when chipping the goalie. And its only half time ;-) 5th of the season - all 5 at home.

Massive test this afternoon for Isaak v runaway top of the league (by 11pts) USG from Brussels.
UPDATE And he scores - decent dribble into the area and a low hard shot. 6th of season. He had 2 half-chances in ET and Kortrijk actually played quite well, despite the 1-3 result.

I really appreciate your commitment to the updates on Isaak, this sounds very promising, I hope he stays in that league permanently as it sounds like it's doing wonders for his development.

Another goal today and Kortrijk are actually looking good since the Winter break. Just might have enough to stay in the league, after beating their nearest rivals for the relegation play-off spot. Just 2 points between them now, with two more games to go.
I only hope that the FAW team bus is going to be big enough!

With Tom Bradshaw and Broadhead out injured and Lewis Koumas fast-tracked to the U21, I wonder if Isaak can be our wild-card?

Needs to do it at a higher level for me. Was very disappointing in the games I saw him for our u21s a couple of seasons ago

Although he has scored in the last three games and there was talk a couple of weeks ago about Standard Liege trying to get him on loan next year. I just hope that the lad is learning Flemish and not French ;-)

He's doing well but Will Evans is ahead in the wild card stakes for me

Whilst it's pleasing to see he's scoring a few goals and winning some games for them, he seems to make the difference in one game and then puts in a very subdued performance in the next (judging by ratings here: www.whoscored.com/Players/409551/Show/Isaak-Davies). He's scored 7 goals in 18 starts which is decent, but probably below what Matondo was doing in his loan spell there. I think this should be seen as a good spell in getting his career back on track, and then let's see how he builds on it next season hopefully at a higher level. I don't think he's done close to enough to break into the squad.

I don't think he's done close to enough to break into the squad. Matondo scored 9 in 26 Yes but he played as a wide forward, set up a lot of goals too from memory (Davies hasn’t had any assists), and I think almost all of those goal contributions came in his last 15 games or so. He was one of the best players in the league in the second half of that season. It’s been different with Davies, who’s had an odd good game here and there interspersed with a run of games where he doesn’t seem to have contributed much. Even in Matondo’s case, he’s struggled to build on the promise he showed in the Belgian top flight and I don’t think he’s played for us since. As i said, Davies showed a bit of promise a couple of seasons ago but then had a nightmare season last year (not his fault) which can be written off. This year’s been great for him in getting back on track. But, contrary to some of the things that have been written, he’s not doing as well and putting in match-winning performances (in a very average league) as consistently as has been portrayed. He needs to build on this before a serious case can be made for a call up imo

I think it's important to recognise that Davies is playing for a team that are bottom of the league and been struggling so his impact and record should be balanced in this regard.
He's not playing in a team that are going to be dominating opponents so to me his record this season is promising

He's not playing in a team that are going to be dominating opponents so to me his record this season is promising A very fair point and I agree to an extent. Even so, this seems to be a very poor level, so even though he's playing for one of the poorest sides, you'd still like to think he's capable of affecting games consistently at that level, particularly if he is to become a top Championship / prem level player - i.e. the level he needs to be at to have a meaningful impact on the international stage. So while his performances this season are promising in that he's progressed on the disastrous season last year, I think there's still a big question mark over whether he'll ever be good enough. Next season will tell us a lot more - he'll be 23 and hopefully given a shot in the Championship (or a League 1 loan maybe). For now, I would probably have him behind Evans, Harris and Aaron Collins.

What are you basing your opinion that this is a "very poor level" on? The Belgian league is ranked 8th in the UEFA coefficient, only just below Portugal and the Netherlands, and above Turkey, Scotland, Czechia, all the Scandinavian leagues, amongst others. It's up there with the best of the 2nd tier of leagues below the big 5. Not advocating one way or another regarding calling up Davies, but the Belgian league definitely isn't "very poor". I doubt it's any worse than Championship level.
