A very fair point and I agree to an extent. Even so, this seems to be a very poor level, so even though he's playing for one of the poorest sides, you'd still like to think he's capable of affecting games consistently at that level, particularly if he is to become a top Championship / prem level player - i.e. the level he needs to be at to have a meaningful impact on the international stage. So while his performances this season are promising in that he's progressed on the disastrous season last year, I think there's still a big question mark over whether he'll ever be good enough. Next season will tell us a lot more - he'll be 23 and hopefully given a shot in the Championship (or a League 1 loan maybe). For now, I would probably have him behind Evans, Harris and Aaron Collins. What are you basing your opinion that this is a "very poor level" on? The Belgian league is ranked 8th in the UEFA coefficient, only just below Portugal and the Netherlands, and above Turkey, Scotland, Czechia, all the Scandinavian leagues, amongst others. It's up there with the best of the 2nd tier of leagues below the big 5. Not advocating one way or another regarding calling up Davies, but the Belgian league definitely isn't "very poor". I doubt it's any worse than Championship level. That's higher than I expected! I was basing it off the way Matondo was able to look like Messi for half a season in the Belgian league, before going on to have a very underwhelming spell in the SPL - a fairly simplistic way of assessing it admittedly, but thought it a useful indication of the respective quality of those two leagues. But happy to be corrected as the UEFA coefficient is a much better measure. I still, instinctively, feel that his progress this season has been over-hyped somewhat and there's a good chance he'll struggle to make an impression after returning for Cardiff next season. Time will tell I suppose

He's got 7 in 24 playing for a team about the standard of Newport County. Sure he might have scored more for a better club, but it doesn't necessarily work that way at all as he'd have been competing against better players for a place and could be less of a focus of their play. His ratings aren't great at all either. I wouldn't say his spell in Belgium has been a failure but its not really going to have brought him nearer the Welsh team, except for showing he can play centre forward.

I didn't see the match, but I did catch Isaak's interview after the final whistle. A well-spoken lad. He is no Steve McClaren ;-) One must-win game to go next week v Anderlecht. Anderlecht have little to play for, as they are guaranteed 2nd place, but can not make 1st - with an eye to the play offs.

Kortrijk won 0-1. MOTM. The first home defeat for Anderlecht all season. Isaak made a habit this season of scoring in the biggest games, and Schmeichel was not spared ;-) They managed to get off the bottom of the table (first time in six months), and were a mere one goal short of jumping two league places, for an even better set of games in the "relegation play-offs".
I imagine, if KVK stay up this season, there will be statutes all around this lovely Flemish town for him ;-)

Get him in the squad!
Only half joking, I think we should take a look at players like Davies, Taylor, Evans etc post playoffs
I'm also a bit surprised that we seem to have gone away from Mark Harris completely now that he actually plays. 13 goals and a regular for a good Oxford side this season

This is a good character building career move for Davies, going over to Belgium and giving it a go, he's done really well, I'm pleased for him. Quite a few of our lads have played in other countries which could benefit them at International level.

Stay in Belgium for another season Issak Bach, he'd be wasted in an abysmal Cardiff starting 11'on yesterday's evidence alone'

The real battle for survival starts today at 3pm. The relegation play-offs. Isaak v Eupen
SECOND HALF GoL DAVIES ! Tap in from 3 yards out 9th of season.
He is an extremely physical player and he is positivly bullying two defenders who are twice his size. Great in the air too. Reminds me a lot of Craig Bellamy - in a good way ;-)

Cardiff have signed 3 strikers this season and I'm yet to see any evidence any of them are better than Davies or Harris
Hopefully Isaak gets a call for the June friendlies. I remember Ireland picking 30+ man squads in the past

Hopefully Isaak leaves. Be ideal if he could stay in Belgium.
Mark Harris and him having their best seasons to date. Young Welsh talent need to leave them and flourish elsewhere.

I remember Ireland picking 30+ man squads in the past I always say that the best scenario for Wales is when Cardiff and Swansea don't have a pot to piss in. On recent form the second they're able to turn to the transfer market its always to sign some journeyman that's no better than what they have but just block their path.

That might be true of Cardiff, but less so with Swansea. Parker was given a chance earlier this season and he's only 17. Shame he got a season ending injury. Josh Thomas might have been given a chance by now if it wasn't for his injury on Cymru U21 duty back in November.
If Swansea can get safe in the next couple of games I expect more youngsters to be given a chance.

So just out of interest did his team avoid relegation?

So just out of interest did his team avoid relegation? Relegetion play-offs. Five games to go. Four teams. Two get relegated. One survives. ... And one faces another play-off wth a team from League Two.
Confused? Join the club ;-)
NB - possibly, the most "must-win" game out of those five, is next week, Sunday 3pm V. Charleroi. Currently, five points ahead in the relegetion play-off

Thanks for the explanation, on the way back from Monchengladbach (1-0 loss years ago) we stopped in Charleroi and were "wined and dined" by some former Belgian footballer and local legend, Freddie something, he was living off his former glory but had become a bit of a pisshead!!.

And the DAVIES SHOW continues. One more tap in from a corner. 10th of season. Third game in a row where he scores.
Just like last week, they couldn't hold on and today they actually lost 1-2 with a crazy goal in extra time direct from a corner.
Once again, they are at the foot of the table ;-(

Another goal for Isaak AND Kortrijk get to battle on! Now they have a 2-legged play-off with the 3rd placed in the 2nd division.
So Isaak won't be making it back to Wales for the Slovakia camp...

Needs to do what Mark Harris has done leave and establish himself elsewhere I have only seen Mark a couple of times, but have seen at least a dozen full games of Isaak. He is PLENTY GOOD for CCFC! Surprisingly good in the air, brilliant ball control and actually quite good at holding up play, with his back to the goal. His diminutive stature is very deceptive! In many ways, very similar to Craig Bellamy.
I will actually be quite confident, that if Albert Stuivenberg was still with us full time, Isaak would have been called up to the Seniors a long time ago!

His side won but Davies came off on 75 minutes. Back to Cardiff who haven't sorted their manager out next year and have gaps in forward line. Probably a good time to compete for a starting position.
Although his side won it largely came after Davies left the field. Not our day as Welsh football fans so far.
