Fair play to Kazakhstan, would love to see them qualify. Tough to go away to Slovenia needing a win but they would have taken that at the start of the campaign I'm sure Similar for Moldova, but when have Moldova ever still been in with a chance at this stage? Remarkable. One massive performance from them and they'd be there. That would surely be one of the best ever underdog stories to qualify if either pull it off We don’t want Moldova to beat the Czechs though as that would mean we would have an away play-off semi, if we need it.

So tonight Poland played their last group game. At home to Czech Republic. A win for the Poles would have seen them leapfrog the Czechs into second spot, but it finsihed 1-1 - so Poland finish third. I presume they will be in our section of the playoffs if that ends up being our fate? At least Italy shed their North Macedonia hoodoo and need 'only' to avoid defeat in their away (neutral country?) versus the Ukraine to qualify automatically. Hopefully Italy can do that for more than one reason. Juicy winner takes all clash to come between Slovenia and Kazakhstan for automatic qualification. Also on Monday Czech Republic versus Moldova in a smilar shoot out. Nations Leagues will definitely have played a part in this extra competitiveness between the established order and smaller nations. Can anybody out there tell us what we'd like to happen for the back up plan of the playoffs if we don't do the business in Armenia? Keep believeing though that we will ! Strong probability it would be Poland v Estonia, wales v Finland/Iceland/Ukraine. if Ukraine beat Italy it’s Italy v Estonia, Poland v Wales.

I know many on here’s first reaction when one of our players pulls out due to injury is that they’re faking it, but imagine being a Northern Ireland fan.
They had 15 players out yesterday.
Yup, I’m admitting it now, if i was Irish I’d be saying that some of those players are faking it haha.

They'll always edge out a lucky 1-0 over us.

My view is that whoever we'd get in a potential playoff path will be harder than these next two games, so these two are simply must win. Beyond that I'm not worrying about the permutations, I can't see us getting an "easy" path at all - I think it's very unlikely in the permutations

Agree with Allez ,i think the playoffs would be so hard to get through, but as a bit of a pessimist i think we have already had our fuck up in this group and i am strangely calm ,well you know as calm as we can be knowing our history and bad luck:).But i believe we are mentally stronger now and we will do it in the next two games.

We are not gonna get through the play offs this time I fear.
We do not deserve a play off place either. We took 1 pt out 18pts ffs! How can a play off be justified. We will end up playing Poland, Ukraine or even Italy and they are way, way better teams than us with a far better manager

Right now I cannot be bothered because its highly unlikely they will slip up as a top 10 team and we are fools to rely on massive luck to make it through. Even if they slipped up I would not be confident of beating Turkey given the way our team is usually playing

Glad I am no longer a fantasist following the Croatia game. I remember doing so in my late teens when we need Germany to drop points against Luxemburg! Learned my lesson there. Croatia could not believe their luck tonight!

We got to try and beat Turkey though. Armenia a win in Cardiff and a draw in Turkey. They’re no mugs! Croatia should win but might be tight.

Norway will be kicking themselves for throwing away their lead at home to Scotland in the summer. They would have only needed a point from their last game with the Jocks to qualify. Sure enough, that late turnaround in Oslo back in the summer was the difference between Norway & Scotland qualifying. No win in 5 now for the Scots.

They beat Spain at home. I think they’re good value for qualifying in 2nd place tbh. Fact is these last games weren’t must win games because they already qualified.

In those 5, they’ve played Spain, France, Georgia away, plus England and they didn’t have to win any of them! Not bad really.

Anyone believe we'll win AND Armenia do us the favour tomorrow? No but then again who thought Croatia would drop 2 in a row in October, or that Armenia would get a point in Turkey. Stranger things have happened...

Anyone believe we'll win AND Armenia do us the favour tomorrow? No. Croatia were professional in their job on Saturday & will be equally so tomorrow. They will be 2 up & cruising before half time. Don’t get sucked in by the ‘Armenia are no mugs’ angle, they were beaten in Latvia. Plus are we seriously beating a relaxed & uninhibited Turkey who have just won in Germany?

Anyone believe we'll win AND Armenia do us the favour tomorrow? It’s very unlikely but while there’s a chance there’s always a possibility. I just hope it’s not a late Croatia winner or, they draw and we draw etc.

Anyone believe we'll win AND Armenia do us the favour tomorrow? Well, before this pair of matches started I thought we’d beat Armenia, but doubted we’d beat Turkey. So it’s going to take some turnaround. Turkey were well on top when we played them in Turkey and looked too good for us. But we were growing into the game before Morrell was sent off. We’ll need another Croatia style performance but sadly I don’t see it. Turkey too energetic for us. For me it’s fingers and toes crossed. And never say never in football. I’d say it’s about a one in 10 chance of us beating Turkey and Croatia not beating Armenia.

Armenia, if they're up for it, can certainly pose problems for Croatia, with their pressing game.
