Does seem a very good price but my only question would be are tickets included? The only way you can get into Qatar and access its accommodation is if you have a ticket and an approved Hayya Fan ID card (linked to the match ticket). If you plan to book this, you need to make sure you have a match ticket otherwise you are not getting into Qatar. Even for the Flydubai flights from Dubai to Doha it states you must have match ticket and approved Hayya Fan ID to get on the plane. It says ‘match ticket included’ in the ad. I suppose that companies like this have snapped up tickets in some sort of deal and that is why we only have 5% allocation Hays Travel includes a ticket, Wonky Sheep doesn't according to their website - say you must obtain a ticket. wonkysheep.co.uk/walesworldcup/If booking Wonky Sheep, please get clarity.

Out of interest how quick are the transfers over from Dubai? How long before the flight do you need to be there, how long after landing does it take to clear etc? I know the flight time itself is just over an hr but wondered about the other bits Just trying to work out if it's worth this vs staying in Qatar. I don't fancy having to spend lots of time sat in an airport waiting for shuttle flights.

Ok sounds like it might be fairly painless then - assume they'll probably have separate lanes for security etc aswell so won't have to hang around the airport too long

Wonky Sheep wont include the ticket, so you book with them with the risk you may not get tickets and be unable to travel. No doubt they'll make that clear but they run trips to pretty much all away games and will have a client base of seasoned regulars who would expect the to fall within the 2500 FAW allocation. I've only travelled with them once, to Azerbaijan in the euros and to be fair they were brilliant. They led us though the numerous hoops you had to go through and in the end it was pretty painless.

Luckily I have family in Qatar so have secured Cat 2 tickets for all of our group games + round of 16 (if we get there). That + flights is going to already set me back £1,400. I feel terrible for anyone who is going to have to pay for hotel and potentially significantly marked up ticket prices, it's going to price out a lot of loyal fans.

Does anyone know is there will be issues if the name on the ticket doesn’t match the persons ID? Will there be issues with the visa etc?

You need a Hayya ID to enter Qatar and the stadiums for the games so I'd be fairly sure they need to match up with a valid ticket application in the same name

So on that basis I'd say they will need to match

Does anyone know is there will be issues if the name on the ticket doesn’t match the persons ID? Will there be issues with the visa etc? Makes resale of tickets difficult and unlikely you'll be able to get tickets once out there... When I applied (unsuccessfully) in the ballot, it did say you can change the persons name at a later date. Interesting with the 2500 allocation people talk about (5% of 40,000 capacity is only 2,000 by the way...) whether it is one per eligible member or 2...

One odd thing I noticed on a seating plan I saw somewhere. They've reserved a block of cheap cat 4 tickets that are only available to Qataries. The odd thing is they've put right in the middle of the blocks occupied by those with tickets from their own associations. In all cases either side but with some, they're in front and behind / above as well.

Does anyone know is there will be issues if the name on the ticket doesn’t match the persons ID? Will there be issues with the visa etc? I've got a ticket for Brazil Cameroon, and the ticket application asks for the Name and Passport Details, D.O.B of each ticket member. I can edit the ticket application details as I am the Lead i.e. change Names / Passport details etc which is good, especially for last-minute changes. The Ticket Application is linked to the Hayya ID, so when applying for the Hayya ID, make sure your details are correct on the Ticket Application you are going to use. I can foresee issues at Immigration with fans not having these details correct, so make sure you get your house in order as in effect this is an "Entry Visa" application. I believe that as long as your details are on a ticket application once, you can obtain the Hayya Card for November to January, and being able to do ticket exchanges after that point could be easier.

Does anybody know how it works with the knock out phase accommodation?
I’d like to go to the round of 16 game if we get there but wondering how it would work, presumably with less fans there at that point, to maximise profit, they probably don’t let you cancel it if your team gets knocked out knowing FIFA.

I live in an area called Town Square which is 45km (Port Talbot to Cardiff) from Dubai International Airport - costs 95AED, about 20 quid one-way. Jumeriah Mosque to DXB (Dubai International) airport will cost you about 40AED (8 quid) However, the shuttle flights will be from the other airport, DWC (Al Maktoum International) in Dubai South. That is 60km from you (Swansea to Cardiff equivalent), so will cost about 120 AED (25 quid) according to my Taxi app.

Dubai Reds thanks for the reply. I didn't pick up that the shuttles were departing from Al Maktoum International Airport / Dubai World Central airport (DWC). So if based in Dubai that is another 150GBP for taxi's to get to and from the airport for the shuttles. Has anyone else looked into basing themselves further afield such as Egypt, Turkey or even Mumbai? I think that manulike was looking at flights via Israel?

No, its 150 AED, which is 30 GBP from that side of the city (Downtown / and "old Dubai" which is Bur Dubai, Creek & Deira). It depends where you stay, Dubai is basically the size of South Wales (Llanelli to Cardiff and up to Merthyr for measure) with an airport at either side. If you stay in the Marina and Palm area, its about 30km from the DWC Airport, which will be 75AED which is 15 GBP.

Thanks for the info so far, very helpful.
Are the shuttle flights timed to coincide with the start and end of specific games or are there just a certain amount going everyday? How early would you recommend flying before a game kicks off?
Could you use you Brazil game as an example and let us know when you intend to fly in and out for that?

I had a look yesterday at FlyDubai and the match shuttle flights seem to run about every 30 minutes 24 hrs a day But I would also love to know how soon you'd need to get to Doha to allow for transfer to stadiums etc on matchday.

Absolutely, the Brazil v Cameroon game is on Friday 2nd December, 22:00PM Kickoff in Lusail Stadium. So this will be a similar plan to the USA and England games. My plan, although not booked the flights yet. Leave my place (Town Square - Near Sports City/Motor City/Jumeriah Golf Estates/Arabian Ranches/Damac Hills areas) at 08:30am - 25 minute taxi. Arrive at DWC Airport - 09:00am - Flights are Carry-on baggage only. (2hrs before) Emigration / Security (allow 1 hour) Airport pint etc (30mins to 1 hour before) Catch 10:55am flight, Arrive in Doha 11:05am Assume 1 hour to go through Immigration Out of Airport 12:30pm Head to Fanzone and see if I can get a ticket for South Korea v Portugal or Ghana v Uruguay, both 18:00pm kick-off, or will watch it there. Go to Brazil v Cameroon Game - 22:00pm Match Ends - 00:00pm Head to Airport (allow 1.5 hours) - arrive by 02:00am Emigration / Security (allow 1 hour) Catch 03:50 am flight - back in Dubai 05:50am. (Flights are every 30mins from 03:50am) Home and in bed by 07:00am Woken up by wife and kid at 07:25am!!! With the USA game, I will probably catch an earlier flight and enjoy watching all the other games that are on an opening day (Senegal Netherlands is 13:00PM Kickoff)

Thanks Dubai Red The timelines for airport transfers and check in really helps with planning
We plan to arrive 5hrs before KO to have an hour or two in the fan zone and fly back 4hrs after full time especially after the USA games as it going to be in the early hours
We don’t have any intention on watching other games, it’s all about Wales for us this mainly due to costs and we have a nice All Invlusive Hotel to get back to. This is a shame as it would be good to enjoy other games but I’ve did that in Germany in 2006 but we are up to £3,500 each all in for all flights, all transfers in the UAE inc and getting to and from Heathrow and back, 3 x Cat 2 tickets and 11 nights All Inclusive in a 5* Hotel The all inclusive will save us £1,500 on food and drink over the 11 nights

There was a drop of lowish quality hotel rooms overnight on the official accommodation website. Many have now gone, but its encouraging that they have started feeding through. There were twin rooms in pretty decent 2 star hotels at US$192 and 1 star at $110, though most/all have now gone. Just have to keep checking.
A lot of the hotels were in a good area near the old town in Doha, not out in the sticks. Check the reviews before booking though (they are non refundable) as some of the reviews ere a bit dodgy.

Not as much to do or see of course but depends what the priority is I suppose?

Would also suggest along with the Premier Inn, the Park Inn in Motor City (La Petit Belge - Belgian Beer Cafe), Radisson Damac Hills (Fire Lake) All close to Motor/Sports City - With several bars/golf clubs for a "Drink". No doubt there will be a "Fanzone" setup at Michael Salgados' Spanish Soccer School once again and a decent Sports Bar there called "Kickers".
