I’ve done a sh1t load of research on this World Cup and I’m ready to press the button on this for the first 3 games. Only one drawback, I can’t seem to buy tickets on the FIFA ticket portal
Can anyone point me in the right (legitimate) direction please or inform what’s the protocol or has the ticket portal temporarily closed?

Now your wife is an OBE could she not just invoke the "Old Boy's Network" and get you sorted 😊😊😊 Bluetone, no offence intended, just having a bit of fun after the thread the other day. Nothing personal intended.

An interesting article here talking about the numbers of official tickets available to England supporters at their game. Apparently their allocation is 2339 for the game with Wales/Scotland/Ukraine. Presumably we'd get the same, and all 3 of our matches would be at that stadium so that might be the standard allocation that we can expect. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/england-tickets-world-cup-iran-26836607Apparently, Noel Mooney was on Radio Wales this morning and said that our ticket allocation would be around 2,000 for each of the group games. This seems to confirm the above. Absolute farce.

Be interesting to find out the ticket numbers for the " neutral " sales via the ballot for each game ?

Presumably these companies have managed to get an allocation from the ‘neutral’ area of the ground as opposed to the 2000 Welsh allocation?

England have not sold anywhere near their allocation for the games so if a Wales fan wants to get a ticket through FAW they'll get one

Anyone found the prices of the tickets? I’m sure I saw something months ago, but can’t find anything now? Ideally would like a category 3 follow my team ticket?

Only one drawback, I can’t seem to buy tickets on the FIFA ticket portal Can anyone point me in the right (legitimate) direction please or inform what’s the protocol or has the ticket portal temporarily closed? Hi bluetone. I was going to go to Qatar anyway, but now that Wales are there it will be extra special. But as a result, I am somewhat ahead of the game on the ticket/accommodation/Hayya card process. The process below explains how it works for those buying tickets, accommodation etc separately through the FIFA ticket and accommodation sites. There are Qatar airline inclusive packages due to be released but they are aren't that cheap. 1. Firstly, Accommodation is controlled by FIFA/the Qatar organising committee. So you won't find any hotels or even apartments on the usual booking sites. Even private apartment owners have to register if they want friends to stay - its that bureaucratic. And if you do find places on the usual sites, they will probably get cancelled (that happened to me twice). So, right now the only way to get accommodation is via here: www.qatar2022.qa/book2. Its not cheap in Doha itself, although there are some fan villages created on the outskirts of the city that might work for some. No hotels have been released except for hospitality clients but those that have been sold via that route are US$450 plus (the sky is the limit, some over US$1,000 a night). So I wouldn't hold your breath for hotels. Some cruise ships are also listed, but again, expensive, though some of the cabins are designed for up to 4 persons (though pretty snug!!). 3. There have been lots of apartments available, but many of these sold very quickly when released in March/April. We are told more will be released, but when is anyone's guess. But, for example a 2 bed apartment for 4 that I booked a while back, central, was priced around US$350 a night. 4. There are a few apartments available currently but here's the rub: you can't apply for any accommodation until you have a successful ticket application number. The only way around this is to wait until the FAW ticketing process is sorted or, if you know someone who has successfully acquired tickets, use their ticket application number, though I am assuming accommodation bookings will be limited to the number of people who acquired tickets i.e. you can't use a ticket application number for tickets bought for 1 person more than once when booking accommodation. However, they don't seem to check names between the ticket applicant and accommodation booker so if someone has successfully acquired tickets for 2 persons, you might be able to use their ticket application number for two accommodation bookings. 5. Once you've got the ticket application number, you can book accommodation. Everyone staying at the accommodation will need to be "registered" as staying there as the third part of this bureaucratic malarkey is that everyone visiting Qatar to go to the games will need to apply for a Hayya card. This is a card which provides visa free entry into Qatar, is required for match entry and also for free transport in Doha. Its free to acquire the Hayya card. But to get it, you will also need to provide an accommodation booking reference number in order for it to be approved. That means a 4 bed apartment really is limited to 4 people; I don't think it will be easy for more to share than are supposed to. 6. Its worth stating that if you book a 3 bed apartment for 6, but for only list 3 people initially (all passport and other details are required when booking), I am assured that it will be possible to add more guests up to the limit of 6, via the contact form on the accommodation portal. I am trying to do that on my own booking, but have not heard back yet, so can't vouch for this, but thats what we have been told. 6. The Hayya card process was quick for me, only 2 days. You get it digitally initially but as I understand it we then need to pick up a hard Hayya card in person in Doha. I hope this explains the process and helps a bit. As I said at the outset, some may prefer to go for the Qatar airlines all inclusive packages and no doubt some will also fly in from UAE for matches. Shuttle flights have recently been announced, so that is an option, but not one that appeals to me. For my sins I've involved in a Fan Network trying to make some sense of this process, so I will try and answer questions as they arise. I am hopeful more accommodation options will be added soon, perhaps after the last qualifiers are known, but its difficult to be 100% sure. Sorry if this is long, but hopefully it helps to explain the process which is, as I say, a lot more bureaucratic than we are used to. Cheers all.

I should add that, on tickets, I don't think anything will be available on the FIFA website until the last WC qualifiers have had the chance to buy their tickets through their own associations.
A first come, first served ticket application period is due to be held on the FIFA ticket website at some point, but no date has been announced. Although a guess, I suspect they will complete the ticket application process with Wales and whoever else qualifies this month and then release the final batch of tickets after that has been completed.
Its worth noting that the Cat 3 prices aren't too bad, c£50, but there aren't many of them. Many, many seats that are behind the goals are listed at Cat 2, but maybe they will get a bit more flexible if there isn't as much demand as they expect. Having said that the lottery phases have been very heavily oversubscribed to date.
FAW is definitely your best bet, although their allocation will no doubt be handled by FIFA ticketing too based on loyalty information to be provided by Lucy and her team.

Seriously, how many do people think will want to go ?
I personally think many more than 2.5k will
I wouldn't mind myself, but the reality is the cost, and the fact that it's a hell of a lot more complicated than booking an Easyjet flight to Bordeaux and a hotel on Trivago !

Early estimates of pricing from Wonky Sheep:
The 10-night trip which includes charter flights from Cardiff, transfers and accommodation in Doha is currently heading for an entry point of somewhere between £2,100 and £2,450 per person based on full apartment occupancy of 4 or 6 people but it will also depend on which option you go for.
If we get hotel rooms, you could roughly expect the trip to be around the £3,500-£4,000 mark per person based on two people in a room (including flights and transfers). This will be offered as an upgrade from the apartment.

I personally think many more than 2.5k will I wouldn't mind myself, but the reality is the cost, and the fact that it's a hell of a lot more complicated than booking an Easyjet flight to Bordeaux and a hotel on Trivago ! I think the US game we should be able to get a fair few tickets (Bordeaux Slovakia- Esque) and people will make the effort for just this one if any. We will be less luck however in the other games. Iran is a "home" game and will have a lot of support, and England will be like gold-dust (same as Lens) where it will be full of England fans with a huge expat community here in the Middle East. A lot of Middle East football neutrals would like to watch individuals like Bale, Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar etc which may go against us. I imagine that a lot of people applied for every ticket they could, I know I did! My 2nd application was 30,000 QAR with 6 CAT 1 tickets for our games, last 16, QF, SF and Final, plus some others!!! But was unsuccessful - shame I didn't get our ticket but glad I didn't have to fork out! You have to buy all, or nothing so can imagine people will not pay for the tickets in the ballot and will go back on general sale. General sale will be first-come-first-serve, with a good bet for USA and Iran will have availability on the re-sale portal. Imagine the Red Wall membership will get priority, then keep your eyes peeled for general sale and re-sale portals.

I think shuttling between there and Doha might be more hassle than it's worth

I think shuttling between there and Doha might be more hassle than it's worth Does seem a very good price but my only question would be are tickets included? The only way you can get into Qatar and access its accommodation is if you have a ticket and an approved Hayya Fan ID card (linked to the match ticket). If you plan to book this, you need to make sure you have a match ticket otherwise you are not getting into Qatar. Even for the Flydubai flights from Dubai to Doha it states you must have match ticket and approved Hayya Fan ID to get on the plane.

Accommodation
Tickets (based on 2 category 3)
Coming to about £1300 based out of Dubai which seems reasonable
