I hope everyone that goes has a great time, decided a long time ago that I'd give this a miss if we qualified. Gutted it's in Qatar, far too much money for somewhere I don't find interesting at all. The only thing I'd be a bit disappointed about is if we play Argentina at some point, I'd love to see Messi play for them. If it's not us, I hope Messi and Argentina win the WC. Yeah you’ve put your finger on it for me- completely culturally uninteresting. A load of cities in a desert designed to ape western decadence. It’s like a World Cup held in a futuristic jurisdiction where the host cities are versions of Las Vegas, London and New York but without history and without poor people. M When you compare that to the potential of world cups in Russia, Brazil, South Africa etc it makes me almost cry that we qualified for this one. Ah well, it is what it is I guess. I just hope all teams involved make their feelings clear about how inappropriate Qatar is to host a World Cup.

I reckon about 30,000 or more Welsh fans will be missing form this . Damn shame.

Love to see the list of bribes that made sure the world cup ended up there, doesn't matter though does it,people will still flock there like mindless soulless robots while the heads of FIFA piss themselves at you and count their money.

I bet they will put on one hell of a show though. When all said and done, I'm sure it'll be spectacular.

Speaking of bribes a lot of people have forgotten this and it makes me laugh because when English pundits whinge about not having the WC they forget this. In 2008 England played a friendly v Trinidad in Trinidad. It was really weird, why would England do that ? It was all to do with the fact England wanted to make sure one of the most powerful men in the Caribbean would vote for England in the WC voting I think his name was Jack something. He then fucked over England by voting for Qatar 😂 He probably recieved more money from Qatar

Just seen the ticket payment period that should have ended today 15 th June has been extended until Friday 17th Can’t work out if that’s good news ( ie sales poor ) or bad news as it’s another delay until we can all scramble for fifa remaining tickets ! Has anyone any idea why we haven’t announced our criteria for tickets - maybe it’s connected and allocation increasing ? 🏴

I've heard England are struggling to sell their 2.5 thousand allocation. On one level, you'd expect that would be sufficient for us if even England can't sell it out. On the other hand, if you qualify for every world cup I can see why 90% of them would decide to give this one a miss

It’s just the longer it takes the concern around accommodation choice and costs 🏴

Lots of expats in that area of the world as well. Expect a lot of the neutral zones to be full of english.

Unprecedented interest for tickets is one thing but actually parting with the cash is another.

Exactly. I personally applied for a load of matches, but was unsuccessful. If I was successful I would of had to get a new credit card to pay for them!
You pay for all or nothing, and sounds like that people are not wanting to part with the cash.
The touting resale would be more difficult given the Hayya card is required for the visa, which requires a ticket application reference number. I see this as a risk where the lead applicant (Mr Tout) cannot change name, only the guests names can change.

I've booked everything except having match tickets. Internal flights from Dubai to Doha £200 rtn. Staying in Abu Dhabi and going to the first two games. I'm confident that I'll get match tickets. Guessing there will be loads tickets going in tranche 3 of sales. England and the US will be the best supported over there due to ex-pats. Expect loads of chinese too as they had the most fans in Russia. Wealth being the main factor as to which countries will have the most fans.

Hi Smudger, we’ve also booked our base as Abu Dhabi and flights from the UK and back 👍🏻 I’m monitoring the Air Dubai flights daily as I didn’t want to book them till I’m confident I’m likely to get tickets. If I start to see them being sold I’ll book them. Im also going to be organising transfers for us all from Abu Dhabi to DWC airport and back to Abu Dhabi for each match day so if we’re on the same flights out and back you’re welcome to join us.

Nice one Bluestone. That would be great to join you on the transfers Me and the lad are going and family watching in Abu Dhabi. Think we book 1pm roughly for flight out and back in Dubai 4am next morning. Iran game flight at 4am and back in Dubai 4pm. Will stay another week if I’m the last 16. Anyone think we might get 5000 for first two group games? 2000 fans in a 40k stadium seems a bit of a joke. Surely WC fans will focus on going to the so called ‘bigger’ games?

Must of taken 4 photos before happy that it matched passports !!! Anyway can now book accommodation… and currently there is nothing between 24-27th Nov !! Dubai Red … do you think they releasing in stages ?

I have heard through work and was told to hang fire on booking accommodation in Qatar by my boss (I work as a project consultant in construction). Word is there are more fan villages are being made which are not available yet due to the complete underestimation of demand from overseas. In my opinion, its quite embarrassing really. There is a maximum 100,000 spaces available currently, which does not make a lot of sense since there are 4 games happening the same day with stadium capacities 40,000+. So a minimum occupancy you would expect is 160-200,000 available per night. That's why there are a lot of day charters from the neighboring countries are suddenly made available to compensate for the shortfall and panic to prevent embarrassment.

Managed to find ( after 2 hours of messing with days , combinations etc) the 1 decently priced hotel and last room that became available suddenly for the dates I wanted ( first x2 🏴 Games) …. So lucky as in the city and near metro hub for all 3 lines ! Flights sorted too !! Now just need the 🏴 Tickets criteria to be released ( should be ok as got tickets for all euro2020 group games on my points ) !! Waka waka I’m going to Qatar !!

There will be enough wealthy fans that will make the journey from many countries. I know a lot of South Americans that are going. But they aren’t wealthy countries. Just there are enough wealthy people going

Just a question for those that have booked accommodation in Qatar. If you are booking something bigger than a 1 bed / 1 person apartment, do they check / need names that all that are going to stay in the accommodation have tickets assigned to them or just the lead booker?

I think just lead booker ! As they will want just the ticket no to make the one booking And assume only 1 per booked accommodation! But little availability last night seems to be almost nothing currently Thursday 24th through to Monday 28th…. As if they haven’t issued any as expecting weekend influx from nearby countries ?….?.

You will need a ticket application number for each person "assigned" to the accommodation. And they will need to be officially assigned to the accommodation for them to be able to get a Hayya card.
However, its possible to book an apartment initially for 1 person and then add the 2nd person later, once that information is known. This functionality is not set up yet (to add other people) but I am assured it will be in due course.
Hope that helps a bit.

As the title suggests 7 of us all booked, 9 nights all inclusive in a four star hotel on the beach in Dubai, and three sets of return flights on match days for £2186, absolute bargain! Just need match tickets now but we’re all on at least 6 of the last aways not including Poland and Holland which most of us did as well.
Happy to share the details if anyone is interested.

Personally the thought of catching 8 flights in 9 days sounds horrendous. Although I am slightly nervous about Qatar accommodation. Might have to take the tent in the desert option...
