I think it was suggested he could play for England? Hope he is committed to us. Looks like he can play midfield or forward. We should get him training with the first team, getting a real feel for it all, if he's still doing well call him up for a Nations League break and then give him his debut as a sub and we've got him. I don't agree with doing that I must say but if he wants to be part of it we don't want to get Declan Rice'd. 1) We're Wales and we don't do that. We give players free choice & this has worked really well for us in retaining dual qualifies 2) 1 competitive game doesn't tie him down to us. He needs to play 4 games of any kind (including friendlies) to be tied down

I never knew the 4 game thing by the way, cheers.

I think for the practicalities of how he qualifies for us (as a channel islander) it’s imperative that we involve him in the seniors soonish. Although he does state that he and his dad have affection for Cymru, and I’m really not worried that he’s a ‘flight risk’, but there aren’t any tangible parentage links involved (that I’ve seen).
There’s been talk of Channel Islanders without Welsh parentage links being tied only to England in the future.
It’d be a crying shame for all involved were that rule to come into force before we cap Luke Harris at senior level. It’d be wise to take action as soon as possible to cover ourselves in that respect.

No suggestion of England anywhere. The boy loves Wales.

I was about to say it’s not going to come in to force overnight but actually given that the bar is now higher to tie a player down and requires a number of windows rather than just 1 cap in a friendly it might be something to consider. I’m going to stick my neck out and say that we don’t have to rush so much with Savage 😂

We still don't know for sure how he qualifies. He's spoken about his father's affinity with Wales, which would be very strange if his father had no Welsh connection. So there's a good chance either his father or grandparents are from Wales, which makes him eligible irrespective of any rule change + if he has no ties with other UK countries, it would mean he can only play for us.

I thought his dad was from Wales? Maybe dragonsoccer can confirm. I don't think he actually has a tie to England, other than the fact they own the channel islands Either way it's a bit irrelevant. He's clearly committed to us. Hope he ends up getting a few cup games for Fulham this season

Basically along with isle of Man they have more rights than us. Need a channel island visa to live there

Need a channel island visa to live there Yeah the only thing they have control over is military affairs I believe, and the monarchy is still "head of state" in a purely symbolic sense

Bodin failing to pick him in the U21 squad ahead of much mediocrity could come back to bite us if he makes a good impact and England come sniffing.
Still so annoyed how little upwards movement there was under Bodin, especially when you consider what a success such a strategy has been for us over the last 10-15 year

Bodin's departure will ensure a change of direction for the U21s I'm sure The next stage of planning for us is to replace the 2016 lot with the next ones coming through. Gunter, Jonny, Bale, Ramsey, Allen will eventually make way for the likes of Denham, Beck, Harris, James, Popov

However, he's yet to make any impact at senior level yet. He needs a good loan under his belt, can't see him getting substantial minutes for Wolves this season

He isn't going anywhere but to the top in a Welsh shirt.

Desperate to see him playing senior football Agreed. He sounds worthy of being fast tracked to senior men’s football.

Interesting to see Fulham putting the Welsh flag when he scores, guessing there should be no worries on our end regarding who young Luke chooses to play for? He looks like some talent, Chelsea have put out a strong side
Edit: He's just got a hat trick, this kid might be the real deal

Agree need to see how he fares at senior level, but his eye for goal seems to be particularly stand out
Once they post the highlights for this game I'll drop it on here. His last hattrick made it seem like he was very much the type of midfielder who likes to arrive late in the box & pick up good positions to finish. Much like Ramsey
I'm sure he will get some senior minutes soon. At 17 years old I do feel like he needs to be fast tracked to our seniors. Feel he could be special
