He said in an interview yesterday that his fathers side is Welsh and his mothers side is Irish. Yeah no mention of England, so looks like he only qualifies for us and Ireland then.

I think he'd qualify for England through his time at Fulham - wasn't he there from a young enough age to qualify through schooling? Not that he feels that makes him English though, of course

I saw Luke Harris not in the squad.
Would have liked to have seen his goal scoring threat on the bench, which we do not have from many of our midfield or even certain forward options. Also would have been nice to have given him 10 minutes off the bench in the unlikely scenario that we were coasting the match. Given he qualifies for 3 countries would have been nice to have given him some game time. I would have put him on versus Belgium for the last 10 mins as the result was irrelevant to the Poland game- we just had to avoid a battering.

England (and the other nation) will take notice of the alleged £30mn price tag put on Luke Harris. It may be phoney or greatly exaggerated but if not then it reflects not only the potential of the player, but what he has been seen to deliver as a 16/17 year old in U23 football, while he is now on the verge of being involved in premier league football. In a way I hope he does not break through in the next few months as he will get more attention and given Page is obviously not taking him to the world cup but will be rewarding and relying on 'loyalty' again.

I get the impression there is no danger of him jumping ship no matter what the price tag so there is no rush to cap him. It seems there is some genuine Wales only affinity in his family. Jordan James on the other hand…😜🫢

He's very young, 17 right? So not surprised he's not been given minutes. However, what I would say is, if he is as talented as what people say, then I'd argue we've capped and played a few more untalented young/youth players than him.
I would like to Jordan James tonight though. I dread seeing a midfield of Morrell/Levitt, far too lightweight.

Different now though to the days of Harry Wilson's two minutes in the 1-1 in Belgium.
That two minutes obviously locked Harry in, but what is it now four games?

Page said as much in an article a couple of weeks ago, and it very much fits into his MO

I have a feeling that Harris isn't 100% set on playing for Wales Must admit that ran through my mind, however I know very little about the bloke so it's all supposition I suppose.

One thing to consider I suppose is that if an u21 player makes 1 appearance for the seniors in World or Euro finals, he's committed to that country.
Guess we'll have to see how this plays out. Main thing is I hope all is well with him and his family.

I have a feeling that Harris isn't 100% set on playing for Wales I agree 100%. “Personal reasons” it’s a World Cup. If he does have English heritage it’ll be an agent telling him he’s going to make millions more if he plays for England. 10000000000% hope I’m wrong as he’s so talented and he could be our future but I fear the worst

So strange
He seemed so pumped up to play for us in the Nations League and then did not get a minute
Personally I would have taking him as a wild card to the WC. Colwill has been injured and done nothing this season. He did not get us qualified either. Then there are others who are unlikely to turn a game if needed. He can score goals!
This will be really bad if we lose him. When Ramsey retires we will have no decent player in the midfield.

Declan Rice on the bench for the RoI in a qualifier. They left him on that bench. 1 second playing and he would have been Ireland's! Then England took him When you have a highly promising talent don't mess about. Stuff this loyalty thing - you have to have one eye on the future. Bale, Ramsey, Allen, (Gunter should be gone) and others will be gone soon.

Rhys Williams was on the bench versus Germany. Did not get brought on an played for Australia. Fortunately he did not turn out to be a loss.
Its a shame if Harris does not end up playing for us. Life will go on though and we will be there supporting them whatever and complaining about this and that!

Firstly it now takes 4 caps to cap a player under 21 years old.
Secondly, he’s an amazingly good player for his age, no chance has he not been approached by the other associations he’s eligible for previously. Yet he’s stuck with us throughout the age groups.
I’m almost certain his reasons are legit rather than anything underhand to worry about.

Fair enough. Although I think it’s unlikely that we’d have the scope to cap someone like that at a tournament. I hope I’m wrong- but I can’t see us being 3-0 up at any point in the dying embers of a game!

When was the last time we 'lost' a player to another nation? Rhys Williams to Aus maybe, but he wasn't really a prospect.

Yeah the fear does seem to be overplayed, though I do admit that it was one of the first thing that went through my head when Harris pulled out. We luckily haven’t had a Grealish or a Declan Rice scenario (imagine how they feel, losing two £100million+ rated players). The only really significant loss we’ve had was Owen Hargreaves but that was absolutely years ago.

Tbh, 'personal reasons' always annoys me when used. It would probably help if a 'proper' reason was made known, although I know 'personal reasons' covers a variety of topics, some of which are private.
Maybe he doesn't like flying.......

The only thing that worried me slightly when iheard he pulled out was that loads of twitter morons had a go because they thought he took another players place, but harris, james and cooper are still young and hopefully we will be seeing them many times for Wales in the future.
