To be fair to Page - I can't see anyone on the bench screaming to be playing. Pick in form club players! Take a risk! This is completely bollockless team picking. Page said he’d learnt his lesson in that players need to be fit and in form, yet picks James, Moore and Wilson who barely kick a ball! The bench is awful mate, I really don't think any of them would improve the starting eleven. As depressing as it is, that's as good as it gets. I bet Northern Ireland have a better bench than that. |

Sadly agree, really hope to stand corrected, but it would go against logic. Would have preferred to see Lockyer in the back 3. Ampadu in midfield, and Bradshaw with Moore up front. Harry Wilson and DJ must have zero confidence at the moment. |

Given the hammering we took in our last game and the WC in general there probably is a large confidence issue atm against opposition like this. Blessing having the hardest game first up I suppose

This is a carbon copy of the WC games, and many prior.
Pretty predictable after seeing the line up though.
Latvia and Armenia will give Croatia a tougher game than us.

Neco, Wilson, James all awful. James is only good for speed yet seems reluctant to run with the ball. Neco has ability but is a major liability. I would say Wilson is a hologram but you can see holograms.
Ward playing well. Moore doing everything he can but is completely void of support. Not tested the keeper in 45 mins is exactly what a thought a post Bale Wales would be.

Clueless rubbish is the kindest I can be.
We’re obviously not getting anything from this game with these players & this set-up, so having got through to half time only being 1-0 down, the obvious thing to do is to change something at the interval. Neco for one needs to be withdrawn on the basis that he is more assistance to Croatia on current form.
Sending this same eleven back out with a flea on their ear is not going to achieve anything.

He's using his pace to close down multiple passing opportunities for Croatia in one go. |

We are all poor but Neco and Roberts competing hard for worst of all.
Copper has really helped Neco develop for us hasn't he. It had to be one of our own causing so much damage to us!
Rodon - I hope someone emerges because he is getting worse - seems like a rabbit in headlights sometimes.
Hard to see us qualifying for Germany isn't it?

Wasn't expecting miracles, the most relevant point I can see is how physically dominant Croatia have been, just men v boys.
It looks like a damage limitation exercise, long ball to Moore and no worthwhile possession with no one willing to run with the ball, oh and Neco cannot play on the left as said numerous times before.

The difference is the Croatians move and move into space
That is why it is so easy when they play the ball out from the back and they always have a pass on in space and why we always look under pressure playing it out from the back
By contrast our players don't work as hard off the ball in build up play - its something the coaches should be working on

I think we beat ourselves in the first half really. Sure players have lacked minutes but we played like strangers at times and Ramsey (maybe James and Ward?) only one who could hold head up high.
Second half has been better so far and was built upon winning a few attacking throws. Sometimes Dyche-ball/playing percentages is right thing to do.
We created really nice chance at back post too, though fell to player low on confidence at the moment in front of goal. Unfortunate but that happens sometimes.
I don't hate the subs. Smart management of Ramsey, Moore and James especially.
Croatia away was always going to be tough, especially with injuries, and think we should be careful not to be too negative.
