Middle section of thr canton only half sold, 75% of tickets available in most sections. Already on general sale.

Yeah, I’d say that there will only be the absolute hardcore there for this. Would say that the crowd will be approx. 12000 at best

Huge shame the KOP not finished in Wrexham. Hopefully FAW play the odd friendly up here it'd be a sellout regardless

Spoke to a few regulars that cant be bothered with this one, but also spoke to a few people who want to take their kids, so it will probably be more of a family affair - like most friendlies are tbh.
However, I don't understand why this needs to be in Cardiff again.
Wrexham are having a friendly, which is good, but I also think Swansea should host one. Driving to Cardiff from West Wales has become a complete ball ache over the last few years, constant congestion around Swansea / Port Talbot and 9 times out of 10 there'll be traffic from the junctions to the stadium. Took us 2.5 hours to get from Carmarthen to out seats for the Armenia game - it shouldn't be this difficult. Our transport and travel infrastructure is a joke, but that's another discussion.
I struggle to see us topping 10k for this. I'm not goin. Sadly, it's too much of a hassle as well as draining to travel to Cardiff on a worknight to see shite football.

There’s definitely an apathy now amongst our fan base. I wonder if the FAW have been aware of this or it will take one of our potentially lowest home crowds for some time for it to dawn on them.
They usually only take action when things begin hitting them in the pocket.

I looked at all non-Covid our friendly attendances since qualifying for Euro 2016. The lowest non-restricted crowd was 7666 for Belarus in 2019. 8k is pretty low but maybe we're looking at similar for the Korea game:
All games at CCS unless stated (attendances from bbc)
Netherlands 2015 25699
N ire 2016 21855
Panama 2017 13737
Spain 2018 50232 - Millennium
T&T 2019 10326 - Wrexham
Belarus 2019 7666
Albania 2021 6500 (* Covid restrictions)
Czech Rep 2022 12912

We play Gibraltar in Wrexham partly in preparation for Croatia in Cardiff. If playing squad and backroom staff feel more comfortable in Cardiff, there's quite a difference between playing in Swansea before Riga than there is playing in Wrexham before Cardiff.

It's quicker to get to Swansea from Cardiff than from Wrexham, if they played in Swansea they could even stay in Cardiff and travel an hour or so on the day to play in Swansea. The only thing playing in Swansea would add to their preparation is the drive from Swansea to Cardiff airport for their flight to Riga

Just over a fortnight to go before the Republic of Korea home friendly (Thursday, 7 September) and I, for one, am looking forward to it.
There's been a general downbeat feel about our Sept and Oct friendlies, but I actually think they will serve an useful purpose - whoever plays on the Thursday night, for example, will get valuable minutes; and someone unexpected may yet step up to the plate to make the starting line-up in Riga on the following Monday.
Anyone heard more about ticket sales? Despite the previous pessimism, I shouldn't be surprised to see 15,000 in the ground. The Koreans will be good opponents.
Not too late to get a ticket, guys - forget you said that you wouldn't be going!!

If he didn’t, Bradshaw would’ve started in Turkey. I will be watching on TV. It’ll be weird, but I can’t justify going at all.

We started with Johnson up front with James, Ramsey, Wilson behind. Are you really saying that Bradshaw had done enough to start in place of one of those? It's just delusion. Incidentally, I notice that Bradshaw has started the first three league games of the season on the bench.

Because people can’t say that the squad is a closed shop anymore because of loads of new call ups, the team is now a closed shop haha. What next? The penalty takers are a closed shop? Who would you have dropped out of our ‘closed shop’ forwards of James, Wilson and Johnson to make way for Bradshaw by the way?

Incidentally, I notice that Bradshaw has started the first three league games of the season on the bench. Moore would’ve started in Turkey had he not had the red card. So instead of putting in Bradshaw, he moved Johnson up front out of his best position coming in off the wing. Let’s not get started on what actually happened in the game.

Surely you're not saying Page should have stuck with the same approach in Turkey. Saying that the first team is a 'closed shop' because we didn't start Tom Bradshaw is just a very silly thing to say. Why not acknowledge it, rather than doubling down? Even if you would have personally started Bradshaw in that game (I certainly wouldn't have and I don't think most fans and certainly most managers would have), the fact that we didn't isn't emblematic of a closed shop.

No I will stick by my Bradshaw comment. Yes Page needed to change things but Moore would not have been benched had he been available in Turkey, he would’ve started. Bradshaw later came on in the game as well. Anyway, it’s done and I will be watching both friendlies on TV.

The Reading/Bristol Rovers game on September 9th has been postponed due to international call ups.
Has there been any u21/youth squads already announced for that weekend or do they know something we don’t regarding full international squad announcements?

Trying to think what would be a useful lineup given our recent poor form. Think maybe it needs to be less of a hybrid than recent friendlies where we've used them as B games
Ward Neco-Lockyer-Rodon-Fox Ampadu-Sheehan Brooks-Wilson-Broadhead Bradshaw
Ward, Neco, Brooks, Bradshaw could all use the minutes. Lockyer & Rodon would be my partnership for the qualifier given both are now regulars and I want the. To start building a partnership. Think Fox deserves a debut but would give Davies the last half hour as his minutes are reduced this season. We need to see who works best with Ampadu. Broadhead and Bradshaw deserve a start
This enables us to rest Connor, Davies, Rambo & Brennan and test our the players that need testing

Would love to see Isaak Davies get 45' in this. The Belgian commentators were waxing lyrical about him during the game- and rightfully so! Next up are Anderlecht...

With a lot of our players not getting much action, we should use the friendly to get them in shape for the Latvia game Davies
Neco Mepham Rodon Ben A. Hughes
Brooks Vaulks Burns
Broadhead Bradshaw Half time subs: Fox for Ben, Hedges for Brooks Jordan James on for 30mins Latvia line-upDavies
Connor Mepham/Rodon Lockyer Ben
Wilson Ampadu Ramsey Neco
Johnson Moore Others in squad:Ward Cornell or Maxwell Jordan James
