A week to go and no squad announcement. When’s he doing it?

Not sure I understand the logic in calling Luke Harris up for the qualifiers, and to then not call him up at all for a realistic run out in the South Korea game (and to get him on course for the magic 4 caps) - seems a naïve move. Surprised Matondo hasn’t been called up considering Dan James’ absence either. A bit peculiar from Pagey.

Why no Dan James? Is he injured?

I've yet to speak a single person from the north that's travelling down to this. I'm pretty certain there'll be more from this part of the world in Riga than in Cardiff.

Why no Dan James? Is he injured? Yes, 3 weeks. The question should be why no Rabbi M?

Agree that Matondo should have been considered.
As for garynysmon's post, it's all well and good (and great fun!) to go away on trips to places like Riga - but useful support too to turn out - if you can - for the 'less important' friendlies, especially when we're at home. South Korea are likely to have a large contingent cheering them on in Cardiff.
It would do our morale a world of good to beat the skilful Koreans, ahead of the visit to Latvia.

I'd be willing to bet all the money in the wallet in the open and to my right that he was considered. Pretty sure every fit player will be considered at this stage.

Why no Dan James? Is he injured? Yes, 3 weeks. The question should be why no Rabbi M? When the squad was picked 2 weeks ago absolutely no one here was calling for Matondo's inclusion. Now that he's started a few games and scored a goal everyone is questioning why Page hasn't called him up It can't be that glaring of an omission if no one here mentioned him 2 weeks ago! I'm for us sacking Page but I do think people are looking for an excuse to berate him Not saying that's what you're trying to do, but that's how it feel generally

It’s blatantly obvious the fans have turned on Page. I can’t see how he can carry on limping along that much longer ( especially if we don’t get some decent results in the next 2 matches).

I agree - in addition to winning in Latvia, we also need to avoid defeat (and preferably win) vs Korea Rep.
September to November, maybe to October, will be make or break time for RP.

Wales - v- Korea Republic this Thursday, 7 September 2023 ("International Challenge Match").
Here are some of the top South Korean players who are likely to play against Wales this week - and then against Saudi Arabia next week: Min Jae Kim (Bayern Munich, ex-Napoli) - Kang In Lee (PSG) - Hee Chang Hwang (Wolves)- Kim Ji-Soo (Brentford)-Oh Hyeon-Gyu (Celtic)- Hwang Ui Jo (Notts Forest). Heung Min Son (Spurs) may be absent.
Should be a nice evening for some entertaining football and, who knows, a few goals! Get a late ticket if you haven't got one yet.
Regardless of all who are saying that Latvia is more important (which of course is true), it can only be a good thing for confidence, morale etc if Cymru can (a) score against, and (b) beat the Koreans.

Ticket sales have flopped dramatically. Currently only 7k have been sold . If that doesn’t tell the FAW that something has gone dramatically wrong then nothing will.

Not really a massive surprise given the performances over the last year, and we historically are hit and miss with friendlies.
However this should be a big wake up call to the FAW that things are going awry with the mens national team. They've taken fans for granted.

Could be a very big walk-up in this weather mind! Better off going to a beer garden. I’m personally boycotting friendlies and away games until Page either leaves or improves his act. He’s already said Thursday it’ll be a B team.

We're in a difficult moment as a footballing side and in midst of cost of living crisis as a community, but do you remember what we said about Giggs when he went missing for friendlies?
I'm not expecting over 20,000 but if the reports of getting under 10,000 are true when facing really interesting opposition on nice sunny day, well that would be disappointing.

There will definitely be well over 10 thousand there in the end, come Thursday night.
I think we should be supporting the lads, including the back-up players to see how they shape up, not boycotting the game as an anti-Page protest.
Regarding the cost of living issue, at least all those who can afford to go to Latvia should also show their colours by turning up for South Korea as well. Fair enough for non-away game-goers from e.g. North Wales.

I’m not convinced 7k have been sold. If you look at the planner most blocks on sale have whole rows available. If a block isn’t on sale it’s not open.

That's a ridiculous argument, none of us are playing for starters! Giggs didn't have to pay £28 plus whatever on top in terms of food, travel etc to sit in the stand and watch a team of reserves going through the motions The FAW have cocked this right up, the tickets are expensive, we are a poor country, the opposition aren't that enticing, we're in poor form, there's discontent amongst the fanbase, we all know it'll be a B team out there and it's the first week back in school for kids. This game should probably have been played either in Swansea or Wrexham

Talk on the ccmb (Cardiff City) messageboard regarding ticket prices.
Salford FC home ticket prices appears to go up to £18; Bradford City charge £20 for those booking in advance and £25 on the day; Swindon Town charge £23-£27 online.
I know Swindon have a captive audience riding crest of a wave but Wales/Cymru in friendly against team made up of Premier League players is between £1-£10 more than League 2 football. How close to League 2 prices do you think we should value our international team for once in a decade plus friendly?

Anywhere but Cardiff for these friendlies. FAW need to cop on. Twenty is plenty too for a friendly against South Korea

Friendly. Probably enough of a reason there to keep many away. Will continue to dwindle unless Page goes, he is already killing off any of the positivity in our fans. Apathy has well and truely set in.
